Thread 14 - the one where I'm still not sure what a cheese spoiler is

Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

I have a difficult one, ridiculous long shot but I’ve seen miracles happen on here so here goes…

my son has got his heart set on this Anime Duo Lingo Plushie

I thought £32 was steep so had hesitated but then psychologically caved and popped it in my basket.

I’ve just gone to check out only to find that they ship from USA the cheapest shipping is £67 making total £94. Bonkers…

Is there any chance anyone went to USA and bought one they’d like to sell on 🤦‍♀️

or is anyone flying in from USA who’d bring it in for me if I order it to their address. I can get free shipping using ups ground in 2 business days.
I put in California address for brother in law to test timings. Really bad luck this is the one year he’s not coming over for Christmas.

if you’re still reading, thank you so much!! 🤦‍♀️

https://amzn.eu/d/6bO25cb not sure if this is an official one ... but if he is likely to know the difference you could say a cousin had been sent until the original one finds its way haha x

I am actually pretty much done - I’ve been quiet this year but have had lots of inspiration from these threads so thank you all so much :)

The only two people I have left are my husbands cousins. Both male, early 20s, and I am stumped. I used to just give them money but one earns more than me now 😂 they drink, but not like we used to…so I don’t think a bottle of something is a particularly good gift for them. Both are very loved up at the moment so was wondering about something for a night in/out with their girlfriends but then don’t actually know what…is a Just Eat (or whatever the cool equivalent is) voucher a bit rubbish..?

Our Joe and Seph's Cyber Monday box arrived yesterday. Was a massive hit, though both DD and I agree that DH should have the espresso flavoured ones...

Thanks to the original poster!

lemonsmum · 06/12/2025 07:27

Thanks @EmpressFlabulonTheWobbulous I might use this idea for my dad. I needed something to go with his Levi sweatshirt. He has currently borrowed my Morrisons more card because him and his colleague spotted a wine offer in there and neither had a card.

Espresso? I’d be happily handing that over to my DH as well!

What other flavours did you get? Mine is coming on Monday and I’m quite excited!

Espresso and Caramel (big)
Espresso Martini (big)
White chocolate and raspberry (may be another ingredient? We are it and the label is in the recycling)
Strawberry Cheesecake (big))
Truffle
Speculoos
Honey and Hazelnut (big)
Gin and tonic (big)
Chilli chocolate caramel
Chocolate orange slab (big)

Quite happy with it, as DH loves the ones DD and I won't eat.

Thank you for the new thread.
Just posted on the old thread about a gift for my dad. I just had an idea about a terrarium, has anyone seen any shops selling them? I have one a got a few months back from Lidl but they never have them near Christmas. He already has everything he needs for his garden but I don’t think he has much in the way of house plants other than a few orchids 🤔.

RHS Plant shops sell them, but they can be ££

Here is the online link, although I think they have a lot more IRL shops

Is anyone aware of any M&S offers on men's nightwear (specifically dressing gowns?) I think I've missed the 20% off but at £35 a dressing gown was hoping for some reduction 🙈

Any tips for nice looking, quality chilli oil gifts? Ideally something with sort of good taste!

Need to buy my kids dad something from the children. No food items due to various allergies at hos place. Groan, as was hoping to get away with biscuits

Try TKMaxx They had lovely sets and jars in the clearance but if ours on Thursday

@User202242 Thanks for the link, I appreciate your help. I’m stuck I think. I saw this other model on eBay and Amazon but delivery dates tight and I’m a bit nervous about dodgy fillings etc if it’s being snuggled at night. I might have to get one as back up 🤦‍♀️

@passremarkable there's this one on Amazon - the eyes are different (not sure if that matters) but otherwise it looks identical.

IlovePond · 06/12/2025 08:29

@passremarkable - could you get it sent to your BIL for him to post to you? It won’t be expensive for him to post it to you, (unlike Duolingo’s shipping charges).

Edited to say: I wouldn’t personally buy a replica soft toy for a child from Amazon or eBay due to the safety concerns - it’s just not worth it.

VeruccaSalty · 06/12/2025 08:35

I am having a bit of a mare this year, Anthropologie pjs and two Degusta calendars have disappeared in transit (Evri are so bad). Levi socks cancelled. Cheese advent still not dispatched

IlovePond · 06/12/2025 08:37

25% c/b with Quidco at Pandora today only - opt in via opening their advent calendar. Also ‘buy two, get one free’ at Pandora.

@fruitfly3 I've just seen this morning that there's Derpy Squishmallows been released. Not much of a bargain though £19.99 on the Netflix store.

WelcomeToDecemberItGetsWorseHereEveryDay · 06/12/2025 08:51

This was threads ago so apologies I cannot remember poster’s name - but whoever recommended the chocolate emporium - thank you!! I do homemade advent calendars with small pockets for DCs/DH and they’ve got brilliant chocolate liqueurs/unusual flavour mini Kit Kats etc. So pleased Xmas Smile

12-in-1 robotics kit is reduced from £24.99 to £16.99 with a voucher (tick the box).
DS had this last year and loved it.

Oh I hope you find somewhere lovely to go.

For anyone in the North East of England, the North Shields Christmas Market is on this weekend in our lovely town centre Square. It promises to be an extra special one this year after last year's was cancelled due to a storm. DD and I will have a stall indoors this year (we are on the ground floor of the library just for today) as part of the community hub. We sell our own honey and beeswax candles and melts on a not for profit basis. Anyone local, please do come along and say hello - there's free tea and biscuits in the library too!

Edited

That sound lovely! I hope it goes well. We’re thinking of going to the Winchester market tomorrow
