Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

@ruralwanderermany years ago I bought a homebrew set from Wilkinsons which was amazing and so well received! Not helpful I know as they’re no longer around - but I swear I’ve also seen them in places like the Range at a good price

Long time lurker of these amazing threads! Attempting to catch the dairy milk bargain years ago was my early hours, deprivation fuelled, breastfeeding hobby with my eldest!
Hoping for some bargainous advice from the wine connoisseurs. My DH wants to try a "good/fancy" bottle of wine (as opposed to our usual supermarket ones). Generally he likes a fruity wine- rose or white. Any ideas?
We've done laithwaites, virgin wines before.
Thank you!

As some others have mentioned, Naked Wines is good. They promote smaller family owned vineyards, so not usually wines you would find in your local supermarket.

Where did you do the sushi in Japan? I'm going there in June

We did it in Osaka, we booked it through Get Your Guide

I've caved and ordered the Degustabox advent calendar too - thanks to @Hereslookinatyoukid for the code

You need to log in or create an account with Degustabox
On the main page they then have 3 different calendar options - the £39.99 option has the discount (£15 off and free shipping) - but just double check it doesn't bounce out and add a different code (which is less and doesn't include P&P) Total cost should be £24.99. I went Paypal too - will see when it rocks up!

Ordered it at £30 for DBro and he has loved everything so far (Coffee, chocolate spread, chocolate biscuits, sweets)

I bought this for my parents and so far they’ve loving it

My two for 99p 6 7 christmas jumpers have been refunded, even though they are also still marked as dispatched.

That's exactly what happened with the ladies Christmas jumpers a bout six weeks ago.
What was even worse was that I tried to leave a seller review and the seller was able to block it. I wasn't impressed with Amazon allowing that.

darknights44 · 05/12/2025 16:51

yeah looks like 67 has turned into a big fat 0 😪Sorry for giving everyone hope of a bargain. Mine are still showing as dispatched tho it's already refunded and I suspect they never existed! will have to think of something else 67 to torture/delight them with now.

Thank you for the new thread.
Just posted on the old thread about a gift for my dad. I just had an idea about a terrarium, has anyone seen any shops selling them? I have one a got a few months back from Lidl but they never have them near Christmas. He already has everything he needs for his garden but I don’t think he has much in the way of house plants other than a few orchids 🤔.

CarrotVan · 05/12/2025 17:53

@Moonlightfrog

this chap is local to me and well thought of. I think he makes to order and will
work to your budget

Ohhh @keepincoolthanks for the kettle info. I looked at this on Black Friday but didn’t buy it. I’m due some Amazon vouchers from work so I might treat myself

hiredandsqueak · 05/12/2025 18:02

I've just finished wrapping and have realised that I've bought nothing for my husband or mother in law yet. Husband wants a home brew kit but I have no idea which one to get him as I don't drink - can anyone recommend one that makes lager? He likes lagers like Cobra, Staropramen, Estrella. Thank you! :)

My husband has the same taste and also had the wilko homebrew kit! Maybe google for a comparable alternative? Or do they have it online?! Dont forget extra co2!
