Thread 14 - the one where I'm still not sure what a cheese spoiler is

Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

If anyone is near an M&S Outlet they have superb reductions on all nightwear. Men's brushed cotton PJs were £35 in-store, £28 in the outlet are now 50% off at £14. I got 4 pairs for DP & 3XDS.

They also have family PJs Xmas designs reduced to as low as £9 (bear ones and mini wild animals with Santa hats on), up to £14 (festive stripes & checks).

Their men's brushed cotton bottoms (red/ navy- super soft) were £30 now £9. I think reductions were only slashed today. I stocked up on these & will buy long-sleeved plain tops (maybe Sock-shop bamboo ones, which are excellent & very soft).

They had a myriad of ladies' PJs, slippers & loungewear- I may nip back once I see if I have anyone else that might suit.

Also all cards/ crackers/ gift bags/ ribbons 50% off marked price, & about 25% off candles & diffusers. I could have gone mad, and will definitely hold my fire next year & wait until December for more gifts.

I am in a big city, so hopefully others are perhaps near one.

What would be a lovely jigsaw for a 5 year old boy please
( he is a very smart little fellow and a dab hand with the puzzles) ?

i can’t find the one we used to have (think it was dinosaurs or a museum or similar) but one you can look at with 3D glasses is a nice novelty

Although just noticed those ones are 500 pieces which might be a tall order for 5!

Whyisitsodifficult · 05/12/2025 21:23

Anyone seen a bargain pair of Timberland boots!? So expensive!

rhubarbhandsoap · 05/12/2025 21:26

Thank you to whoever posted about Postscript books on an earlier thread, I’d completely forgotten ordering, so it was a lovely surprise when my parcel arrived today with books for DD (and one for myself).

My kindness hoodie, anthropology hand cream and HC advent calendar are on their way, and I’ve got the Levi socks, adidas wallet, snood and e.l.f stuff ready to be wrapped.

Thanks to everyone who makes this the best bit of mumsnet. 🎄

Orchard Toys do some lovely 150 piece big floor puzzles which my son loves, but require a lot of space. We have a few of the ravensburger 4 x 100 sets which get done a lot ...they sell them at argos often on multi by, or all the usual kids stores.

oatmilkisntsobad · 05/12/2025 21:57

I hope this is okay to ask here as it’s not strictly about bargain hunting. I want to go to a Christmas market this weekend And hopefully pick up some small crafty gifts. I’m in north London and don’t want to go to the London ones as we usually go to those. Up to around an hours drive away would be fine. Would love any recommendations from you!

WannaBeOrganised · 05/12/2025 22:02

Beer making kits look great, and have given me some much needed inspiration for my parents present!
But I don't know where to start - can anyone recommend a basic wine making kit for use with home grown grapes?

CarrotVan · 05/12/2025 22:10

@SpamIAm how about a mystery walking tour or escape room package? If you go through Buyagift or similar then there are usually good discounts and cash back

and thanks to the poster who flagged the Gardening Express offers - picked up some discounted items for our garden plan

teaandkittens123 · 05/12/2025 22:44

I received my Fahlo order today (ordered 25th nov) and I’m not sure I’ve got the right cards. It should be a whale and a polar bear, but might have to open the packs to see - agree this is very annoying for a gift.

Random but has anyone bought a reasonably Derpy plush (K Pop weird tiger thing)? My son has asked Santa for one 🤦🏻‍♀️. All the offerings look cheap and horrible - appreciate Jelly Cat probably don’t do Derpy 😆.

zacsGranny · 05/12/2025 23:12

It's so disappointing that the Fahlo orders are taking so long to arrive, and that there are so many mistakes with the orders. My first order, which was just one was fine, so I ordered three more, which haven't arrived yet. I'm getting a bit concerned that even if they do arrive, they may not be correct, and that I'll have to open all the cards to check. Not good for a gift.

Don't suppose anyone has spotted this in stock anywhere please?

It says online exclusive. I haven’t seen it, but there is a collection of babies in costumes in stock in a few places (inc John Lewis and Smyths last time I checked) but they’re not Christmassy costumes

InbetweenDreams · 05/12/2025 23:35

Did anyone who ordered the Levi’s socks get their birthday discount/credit before their actual birthday or was it on the day? I am waiting for my birthday next week, but wishing I had put a sooner date as something I wanted to get my DH is low in stock 🤦‍♀️

Edited

I ordered this cheap one as a bit of an extra add on for DDs birthday presents and it is actually her favourite cuddly at the moment fairly small but she loves it - the one I ordered is sold out but this one looks exactly the same

SOrry can't tag from the previous post but

FORTNUM & MASON - I can get there early next week so if anyone wants me to buy stuff and send it on please DM me - we can do payment over paypal for safety. I'm assuming that the items people want are likely to be RM small parcel so cheaper to post than F&M charge.

Also - shameless plug but those waiting for Falho to deliver - my daughter has made a load of silver earrings to sell for our local foodbank and there are a wide range of animals - whates/turtles etc so I could post you a pair - in return I'd send you the link to the Trussell Trust page to donate £1.50 per pair.

Love this! Real spirit of Christmas and these threads!

Long time lurker of these amazing threads! Attempting to catch the dairy milk bargain years ago was my early hours, deprivation fuelled, breastfeeding hobby with my eldest!
Hoping for some bargainous advice from the wine connoisseurs. My DH wants to try a "good/fancy" bottle of wine (as opposed to our usual supermarket ones). Generally he likes a fruity wine- rose or white. Any ideas?
We've done laithwaites, virgin wines before.
Thank you!

I buy this book every year. I know it is supermarket wine but it’s great for finding the best of the supermarket wine. My Aunt always gets the book as a present from her friend so I always buy her two of the “10” wines to try.

@Whyisitsodifficult do you live near an outlet? Cheshire oaks had some great timberland sales on yesterday

I have a difficult one, ridiculous long shot but I’ve seen miracles happen on here so here goes…

my son has got his heart set on this Anime Duo Lingo Plushie

I thought £32 was steep so had hesitated but then psychologically caved and popped it in my basket.

I’ve just gone to check out only to find that they ship from USA the cheapest shipping is £67 making total £94. Bonkers…

Is there any chance anyone went to USA and bought one they’d like to sell on 🤦‍♀️

or is anyone flying in from USA who’d bring it in for me if I order it to their address. I can get free shipping using ups ground in 2 business days.
I put in California address for brother in law to test timings. Really bad luck this is the one year he’s not coming over for Christmas.

if you’re still reading, thank you so much!! 🤦‍♀️

Anime Duo Plushie

Duo has gone full anime, and yes, he knows how cute he looks. With oversized embroidered eyes and peak kawaii vibes, this limited-edition plushie is here to cheer you on, binge shows with you, and maybe cry sparkly tears when you skip a lesson. It come...

Oh I hope you find somewhere lovely to go.

For anyone in the North East of England, the North Shields Christmas Market is on this weekend in our lovely town centre Square. It promises to be an extra special one this year after last year's was cancelled due to a storm. DD and I will have a stall indoors this year (we are on the ground floor of the library just for today) as part of the community hub. We sell our own honey and beeswax candles and melts on a not for profit basis. Anyone local, please do come along and say hello - there's free tea and biscuits in the library too!

Any tips for nice looking, quality chilli oil gifts? Ideally something with sort of good taste!

Need to buy my kids dad something from the children. No food items due to various allergies at hos place. Groan, as was hoping to get away with biscuits
