Teenage girls: must-have items this year?

XelaM · 14/10/2025 09:56

Every year the Christmas lists of many of the teenage girls (my own included) have quite often very similar must-have trending items. So what are they this year? I haven't got my 15-year-old daughter's list yet but trying to get a few items early. She's into all the trendy make-up and usual TikTok nonsense.

Can anyone suggest another brand for hoodies? Needs to be a sweatshirt material and zip up rather than pullover.

Have a look at Scuffers

OnionBag · 24/10/2025 15:46

I agree with @OhCobblers teens around here are wearing Scuffers hoodies now.

My DD has just turned 13 and has always been a bit different - reads and learns languages voraciously, obsessed with animals, only wants charity shop clothes which she customises, considers herself "eccentric", refuses to go through diagnostics for Autism even though the rest her family is robustly NHS diagnosed 😀

But I read some of this thread out to her - prefacing it with "I saw this on Mumsnet and thought it was interesting..." and it turns out she knows most of the stuff mentioned and covets the skincare brands 😮

I'm so pleased I found this as I'd never have known what to get her (still haven't got her more than a couple of bits for her birthday which was at the start of this month!) We're going shopping later and I think I'm about to learn spend a lot 😀

Thanks so much @OhCobblers, I'm biased obviously but she is rather special, she kind and funny and decent on top of everything else. She makes me very proud.

We didn't buy anything as we're going to an area with far bigger shops next week in half term but she got some good ideas, its Byoma and Bubble that seems to be winning, though there is also talk of Sol de Janeiro and Glow Recipe.

If anyone knows the best places to get these brands I'd be glad to hear of it - Boots had some good kits on 342 but there might be more out there...

There are some good Byoma deals on Cultbeauty - you get a free one with one of their Byoma sets and with the code FIRST15 you will get 15% off that so it works out less than £20 I believe.

Thank you! I went to Bicester village today and got the RL kids XL cable knit jumper in navy, but it was £76 😬 and of course instead of saving money I then spent another £30 on a RL hoody which my daughter doesn't even need but was on sale 😆

I think my teens are broken they wouldn't be interested in any of the stuff listed, I wish they were as they are both incredibly hard to buy for.
They have asked for
DD15 - a gaming pc (its the first time in her life she's asked for a specific present - so we'll probably oblige)
DD13 - An electric guitar with amp (god help us)
I'll bulk these out with books such as the greenday song book for guitar and band shirts.
How i miss pink!!!

On dd's (15) list is a Hollister jacket, one of the new King Kylie lip tints, Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk set, Rare beauty liquid blush, Victoria secret tease perfume, limited edition south park crocs, uggs, some vintage clothes from depop, watercolour paint set, a bracelet holder and various funko pops.

Dd got the lululemon jacket a few years ago. They are very small and tight fitting so do get your dds normal size, not like white fox which are absolutely humongous even in the smaller sizes. For those asking if white fox is over its only worn round here by younger girls and tweens. The brand I see round here mostly for older teens is alo, then adenola. This might be regional but I would check with your dds before you buy if you're unsure.

If the Hollister one shoulder jumper comes back in stock ill get that for her as its right up her street! I wish I hadn't looked at the Ralph Lauren cable knit because I want it for myself now, but £205 😱

StrawberryThief1930 · 27/10/2025 09:50

my DD has asked for heatless curler for hair. ive googled but unsure if there is a particular one which is better and more effective, or is cheap and cheerful fine? any teen DD use these and can recommend me one?

lookonthebrightside0 · 27/10/2025 10:09

@StrawberryThief1930my dd has tried several but always goes back to using the belt off her dressing gown 😂

Thanks. Think i’ll order the equivelant
of an 8 and see. She is smaller than me so i’ll see if i can get it on to judge 🙈

Powerof321 · 27/10/2025 11:31

@XiCi forgot to add do you know what pillow talk set? My daughter has mentioned it (she can’t afford CT lol) and not sure which one looking online

XelaM · 27/10/2025 11:37

I'm now worried I got the Ralph Lauren kids sizing wrong 🤦‍♀️ I was torn between the kids L (12-14) and the kids XL (14-16) sizes. My daughter likes everything quite fitted and is usually a 6/8 adult size, but the sleeves on the kids L cable knit jumpers looked so much shorter than on the XL, so I went for the XL for the jumper, BUT the hoodie looked massive in XL and had the size XL (18-20) rather than XL (14-16), so I went for the L (14-16) hoodie. Am so confused 😵‍💫 and won't be able to return after Christmas as it's a 30 days' return policy.

What Uggs are the best ones to buy? Mini or Tazz? Thanks!

Stowickthevast · 27/10/2025 16:30

I think minis are the ones they want.

Fake ones from Primarni or M&S for the cheapskates amongst us!

Bicester Village also has an UGGs store for anyone looking for a discount. I've not been inside, but many people were walking around with huge UGGs bags so I imagine they are cheaper there than anywhere else. 😂

My DD is 18, she wouldn’t wear a lot of the things mentioned on this thread so just a warning if you are just looking for general ideas - I think a lot of these trends are subject to local areas etc.

Mine is essentially sponsored by Adanola and Alo at this point but a bit of other brands like Abyl thrown in. She mostly wears gym set type clothes, oversized knit co-ords etc.

Acis trainers seem to be the most desired at the moment by us and she wouldn’t be seen dead in Ugg mini’s or ultra-minis - they just be micro or taz style!

Make up she still likes Charlotte tilbury, particularly the setting spray. Huda, rare and milk (the hydra primer is a fave).

The summer I turned pretty books are high on her list too.

XiCi · 27/10/2025 21:10

@Powerof321 I got this one from ASOS. It's on sale today as well here

Edited

Can you measure them against clothes in her wardrobe you know are the right fit? That's the only drawback with buying early, you cant return them if they're not right.
