Teenage girls: must-have items this year?

XelaM · 14/10/2025 09:56

Every year the Christmas lists of many of the teenage girls (my own included) have quite often very similar must-have trending items. So what are they this year? I haven't got my 15-year-old daughter's list yet but trying to get a few items early. She's into all the trendy make-up and usual TikTok nonsense.

My 11yo dd has xxxs and xxs hoodies, she’s also slim and petite, the xxs is slightly big on her but she didn’t care.

Thank you!

OhCobblers · 23/10/2025 16:02

Could anyone advise on the best wet to dry hair straighteners that aren’t GHD or Dyson prices please? This will be DD’s main present but researching now to buy in Black Friday sales!

LittleMonks11 · 23/10/2025 17:30

Looking for hair dryer recs with big round brush pls!

The lululemon jackets are really flattering - my daughter absolutely loves hers! I will check what size she has. Can't remember. She has the pink one, but I think any of their colours look good.

I just looked at my daughter's lululemon and it's a size 6. She likes tops to be tight, but it's super flattering and very slimming. She normally wears 6/8.

Thanks. is it a Uk 6? My daughter likes fitted as well & is a 6-8 or xxs/xs depending where she shops & i was thinking a size 8 but having looked online it’s american sizes (under the jacket she wants) so i’d need to order a 2 or a 4 🤯

@hby9628 no I haven’t, hoping it will be her thing. They do have a few others just not Christmassy ones. DD like’s the popular vanilla sprays mentioned above from Victoria’s Secrets etc but also likes things like Lush sticky dates perfume which might not be to everyone’s taste!

I saw a very gorgeous and cool teenage girl talking about wanting the Lush Sticky Dates perfume on instagram earlier today. It must be a thing

We bought it in a store in Tokyo when we were there on holiday, so the label may be different. It says:

"6
170/88A"

I think this translates to UK size XS.

I would go for a UK size 6.

Following however don't particularly need any ideas as dd2's (12 year 8 currently) list is pretty full.

Byoma skin care
Plouise lip thingy.
Crocs
White fox hoodie
Olivia Rodrigo tour book
Make up bag and drawers for her make up.
She also has some One Piece Lego as a surprise.

She did want Sol De Janeiro however a friend of mine gave her a bottle so that was scrubbed of the list.

Dd1 14 y10

Jewelry box, some sunglasses for rowing and recently decided she would like some Crocs (for rowing mainly).

We have tickets to Yungblud - her favorite artist and then puzzles and books. She's not into trends or makeup/skincare anywhere near as much as dd2 is.

XelaM · 23/10/2025 22:23

@Powerof321 Ignore me - I think I may have translated the size wrong. Some website told me it was XS, but I think it's actually the American size 6. Daughter wears UK size 6 tops normally but I think this lululemon jacket that she has is actually the US size 6.

Sorry, I'm being no help 🤦‍♀️

Calvin klein knickers, Freya Sky hoody, Victoria Secret anything!

Pyjamatimenow · 23/10/2025 22:36

Following. I have heard white fox is on its way out though.

Pyjamatimenow · 23/10/2025 22:45

Can anyone suggest another brand for hoodies? Needs to be a sweatshirt material and zip up rather than pullover.

Edited

It’s the define jacket she wants.

a us 6 would be a 10
in our size & if your daughter is tiny & wears
uk
6-8 and it’s tight fitting it must come up small?

thinking a uk 8 (so ordering a 4) and hoping for the best. Not sure on their returns policy

LifeSucksBigFatBalls · 24/10/2025 03:53

Italian Brainrot here 🤣

Yohoho3 · 24/10/2025 10:58

So Gymshark gear or Lulu Lemon for almost 15 year old DD (for the gym)?

If anyone sees any good offers on the Ralph Lauren cable knit jumper please let me know - I have 3 to buy for so not cheap!

These are the joggers - I think navy or grey. Mine prefer the cuffed ankles

So funny from where I am sitting they literally look like any old pair of gray tracksuit trousers, I’m sure you can find similar in Primark and no one will know 😂

My kiddo has one in the soft pink it is lovely. We saw someone in the school play wearing one, she did look nice. All the young teens had clothes envy apparently she was top to toe lulu!

Haha I work with young offenders and these are just like their uniform. I keep telling my daughter they are £6 in Primark

For Christmas mine is getting a mini waffle maker, a hairdryer, a nice pair of pyjamas, probably a necklace and a few wee things (bath stuff like nice bath bombs, Christmas book, chocolates and ginger beer. I’m sure socks will make an appearance too!)
pyjamas were bought on sale and the hairdryer will be one my Mother bought and never used.

Pink is just gorgeous but my dd loves pink, black would be more versatile! I would say sizing is small end of true to size, it has good stretch but I prefer things looser than she does

I am sick and tired of all this trendy stuff. I don’t have a teenager or any children, but if I did, I would not be encouraging all of this consumerism and waste

It is hard isn't it? mine had wanted her lulu for ages and unfortunately she had a number of health challenges so I caved, she loves it has worn it for 2 years TBH as part of the health thing she has gained weight so isn't wearing it now but told me she is determined to get back into it so for that alone it would be a worthwhile purchase.

I used to be all about not spending money and trying to sub the cheap toy for the thing they desperately wanted and I realised it just wasn’t working for all sorts of reasons. So now my internal voice says if they have really wanted it for ages and especially if they start offering to pay 1/2, work for it etc better to get them that than the fake that will probably fall apart in a couple of months.

I do draw the line at a lot of overpriced junk though, my kid also has school uniform so she has 1 pair of shoes all year round. I gave in and bought Uggs after yet another health thing and she had to have trainers so why not the ones she wants rather than the ones I find on special (not that much difference in price she found hers on special!) Her school shoes look like new and she is currently into her second year of wearing them.

We’re trying to create conscious consumers!
