@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@bizzey I suspect the one with the lead is probably higher power than the cordless one. Plus over time the battery in the cordless one will degrade.

If you are not fussed then I’d go for corded over cordless.

@Cupofteaandbiscuits what is that plse? My DD is really into football at the moment & that looks interesting

Its this:

Some there’s an app for but they are over £100 which I didn’t get as I’m not sure if he’d use it enough to warrant that price!

Pollyanni · 24/10/2024 20:28

Primark is my go to for cheap beauty advent fillers for this age!

I have a 15% code for Adidas if helpful to anyone (I think single use)

This thread is so dangerous, thanks to all posters with the amazing bargains. I am now the proud owner of a cuisinart hand blender I didn't even know I needed! Flowers

Could I have the Adidas code please?

IlovePond · 24/10/2024 21:02

I forgot to say: It’s Thirsk Aldi that has the reduced whipped and peptide creams and serums and Thirsk Tesco that has the other things I mentioned.

Lidlisthebusiness · 24/10/2024 21:02

@bizzey I'm looking at those 2 machines too. The only difference I can see mentioned is the corded one has a 5yr guarantee, and the cordless a 2yr guarantee. I looked for the power, but only the corded one has it on the description.

wibdib · 24/10/2024 21:15

If people are thinking of doing these CeWe advent calendars it’s worth knowing that Boots get CeWe to do all their photo stuff, so they tend to have the same offers and prices on as CeWe but with the advantage of Boots Points if you collect them and special deals that tie into other boots promotions.
Can’t remember if you can also pick up in store which might help with postage costs if you’ve got a convenient local boots with a photo facility!
And I can agree that they were lovely - I just did one with the dc - no chocs - for my mum, aunt and us. I have been reusing it for the last few years!

Some great bargains on toys and games at https://www.maqio.com/. I got some bargains stocking fillers and party gifts, but there are 'big' gifts on there too. I got Uno Dos for 3.99, fruitonimoes for 2.99, trolls top trumps for 2.99, hot wheels single cars for 1.39, loom bands sets for 1.29, and polly pocket compacts for 2.99. free delivery over £20, and 5% off when you sign up.

Hi could I ask those of you who’ve ordered the Tazzies cashmere fingerless gloves on ebay, if you ordered more than one pair did they come wrapped separately?

Yes each wrapped separately in tissue and ribbon

NotMeekNotObedient · 25/10/2024 20:01

@paipaintyhands I'm not sure if this is a 'cool' brand but Essence do some cute make up bits really reasonably. I know their nail varnish is supposed to be free of some of the more nasty chemicals. They often have themed bits like 'Emily in Paris' ect. I buy from Notino.
