@Cupofteaandbiscuits and @NewtyCutey loved the happy reunited story with Otis.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I did some real life shopping again today, at boots for the 4 for 2 offer.
Usually when I look at the boots gifts I find them expensive when I'm just looking for little things. This time I think there were more low value - great for stocking fillers. But I struggled to find 4 good gifts around the £20-25 mark. It's probably more reflective of the ages I'm buying for this year.
I did manage 4 though, and spent £40. Each gift was a bargain when you look at it like that.

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 24/10/2024 17:37

I’d like to get one of these for my son but they vary in price etc
Has anyone’s child have one of these? Are the cheaper ones ok?

Can anyone tell me about the tazzies gloves? I am thinking they will make a good gift for a couple of people. I missed the reference to them earlier on.

Honestly I've never heard of Jazwares! I didn't realise how collectible they are until this thread!

My DS9 loves Sonic and I hadn’t heard of them either! He doesn’t go on YouTube though, so that’s probably why. He does have some figures but they weren’t expensive.

@MissAnnThropeofYorkshire @RainbowZebraWarrior I wouldn't have bought dupes as she requested them for Christmas specifically. I just checked with my DD and she confirmed when I got her the sprays a couple of years ago I got her Victoria Secrets and Missguided. I seem to remember they were in were baskets near the tills.

IlovePond · 24/10/2024 18:34

Hi,

Just been in Tesco and Aldi.

Tesco:

Large mixed box of Lindt £7.40 instead of £10.
Squishy gaming cushion £14
Some board games 40% off
Patter Pets reduced but I have forgotten the price 🙈

Aldi:

Peptide and whipped cream moisturisers down to £4.99 and SR dupe serums down to £3.99. (These reductions are very annoying as I had just bought some the other day🙀)

Audubon · 24/10/2024 18:46

This looks like a lovely gift, sign up for 6 months of Homes and Antiques for £24.99 and get a Mistletoe Bridgewater Plate and Mug set free. I hope I've got that right but it seems to be so!

Take a look at the Cuisinart website
https://www.cuisinart.co.uk/sale.html

I've just picked up a mini food processor for £20 instead of £50/£60 on Amazon.

They had a few household things in their sale including a 4 in 1 automatic corkscrew, kettle, waffle/pancake maker etc.

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to @yoshiblue for the heads up on Cuisinart. My huge parcel arrived today. Fantastic bargains.

ZiggyZigAh · 24/10/2024 19:03

Does anyone have an Argos code they wouldn’t mind sending me?

hby9628 · 24/10/2024 19:05

@Cupofteaandbiscuits what is that plse? My DD is really into football at the moment & that looks interesting

OnionBag · 24/10/2024 19:09

I made one of these a few years ago for DD & her BFF. There was a large pic of them both on the front and every day there was another photo of them together. They loved it.

fishfingersandchipsagain · 24/10/2024 19:19

Stumbled upon this while browsing. 68% off. Previously saw them in a garden centre at full price and they are ridiculously cute!

bizzey · 24/10/2024 19:21

Can I ask a Cisininart question please ...as I m rubbish with household gadgets!

I thought the mini pro processor was OOS but it was there just if I clicked a different colour.

I have ordered the cordless one instead .

Apart from the lead obviously...does anyone know hu it is £5 cheaper?

Is it the same power ? Or less ?
Thanks .
