Thanks to @SpottyBumPony for giving us such a grim code Xmas Grin

I've spent the afternoon going through the Christmas list and feeling very overwhelmed about how much to get and how much it'll all cost. I need to get control and organised.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

To be split with DM ..

Now...to make sure I don't loose the birthday cards that are not needed till next year !

do you have a paper calendar in your house? if so stuff them in a big envelope and sellotape that to the back on the calendar works like a dream

PurpleSkittle · 30/09/2024 13:34

I've just been into Aldi and they still have plenty of Squishies in stock - huge ones for £19.99 and medium ones (30cm) for £6.99 (Squishies are like a much cheaper copy of Squishmallows). They also had some halloween-themed, glow-in-the-dark medium Squishies in the halloween section, which may be more suitable for older boys for Christmas (I struggled to find one that didn't seem too baby-ish when I was looking for one for my tween boy last year).

If you haven't come across them before, they're a good gift for sensory-seeking children (and all other children!) as they're so gorgeously soft and huggable. Definitely one of my 'wins' from these threads last year....

If it's of any use I've posted my code for Whistlefish on the promo codes board ... gives you £5 off which should stack with sign up 20% off too x

sillygoof · 30/09/2024 13:53

Last year I got boxes of 4 Guylian chocolates for £1 at B&M… if anyone spots them can you post please? They went down very well in stockings! 🙏🏼

MarshmallowsOnToast · 30/09/2024 14:07

The £1 Gulyian chocolate post reminded me..

If anybody, like me needs to buy multiple little gifts for around the £1 price point...

I've bought a load of these this year for colleagues. I like to get them all a little something a tad bit more special than a Xmas card each year but don't want to spend more than £1 each..

B&M mini gingerbread houses. £1 each, they are much cuter in real life. ☺️🎁

They are in the stores already! Been there for a few weeks.

Just probably don't go to my local store as I bought trays & trays of them 😊🙈🙈

3 slightly different designs too. I couldn't resist!

okayhescereal · 30/09/2024 14:14

Just in case they don't do them this year, (and thinking about how much stuff has gone up in the past year) Sainsbury's are doing a six pack for £1.75

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 30/09/2024 15:40

Hi Pugs ahh that's a shame if they don't stack but thanks for thinking of me Wink I

Rimtimtagidimdim · 30/09/2024 16:05

Does anyone know of any codes floating around for Stackers, or whether they might do anything for Black Friday? Am looking at one of the £65 washbags.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 30/09/2024 16:17

okayhescereal · 30/09/2024 08:38

@PumpkinSpicedTea @bizzey did you see the birthday book someone linked on the last thread? It had different pages for each month where you write the birthdays, and then a pouch for each page to slot the different cards into so it's right there when you need it. Very clever!

No I haven't seen it! Sounds like a better version of my home made thing so will have a look.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 30/09/2024 16:18

humblebea · 30/09/2024 09:18

I loved the birthday card book idea and I’ve just seen if you shop on the busyb website rather than Amazon, they have a few styles reduced to £7.99. There’s also a 10% signing up to newsletter discount.

Edited

Thank you! I think I'll get this one.

Saltrock have got some nice bits in their clearance sale. Some cute kids hoodies, really nice girls varsity bomber jacket. Nice things in the men's section too.
