Thread 3 - The one with the Grim Giftsets

Thanks to @SpottyBumPony for giving us such a grim code Xmas Grin

I've spent the afternoon going through the Christmas list and feeling very overwhelmed about how much to get and how much it'll all cost. I need to get control and organised.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@LittleRedY0shi I can’t remember if I mentioned it when you were asking about chocolate frogs but Flying Tiger have their own brand version of Bertie Botts every flavour jelly beans for Halloween that are a lot cheaper than the Jelly Belly official licensed ones.

Hey :)

So this isn't a bargain (yet- hoping it will be in the future!) But it's a Christmas idea. My eldest has autism and is forever doodling or tracing the outside of things. This is a reverse colouring book- so effectively she creates the outline to what is already coloured in.
I actually saw them on TIKTOK but thought they were such an amazing idea I had to share it in case it helps someone else :)
I'm sure there are other versions too, but it's a good starting point! :)

I got this last year for my dad and I confirm it was easy to cancel. You had to phone up to cancel though (couldn't do it online) and had a ten min conversation with a polite young man. No hard sell though - cancelled straight away.

@mogtheexcellent I was really doubtful about buying my son a air up. As he likes water already - doesn't drink juice ect. And he used to break his water bottle everyweek at school guaranteed. He's had his 2.5 years. Still going strong. Has used it everyday for school and no damage to the bottle. I definitely wasn't sure on the idea but it has been great and he still loves it. Again won't be the same with every child but just wanted to share my experience. I got it on a black Friday offer

Be aware that minalima are not doing any more of the Harry Potter books. Apparently a new illustrator will take over for Goblet of Fire. Not sure if they will be as good as the MinaLima ones. Gutted as I wanted the full set.

Gutted!! They are brilliant!

Is there a valid OHS code ?

YeahWellWhyNot · 02/10/2024 17:55

Kids Alexa echo dot Dragon/Owl down to £27 from £64.99. This is price is locked until 16th October so shouldn't be going down further on prime days. I have taken a punt, hopefully it won't go lower before Christmas ⛄

Same here. My DD really wanted one but I thought it would be a waste. I got her one for last Christmas anyway as it was the thing she really wanted and it has been worth every penny! She’s used it every school day since. She never used to drink at school and now she drinks plenty! She loves the different flavours. If you don’t have a good sense of smell then water will just taste like water, as it works based on smelling the pod as you drink. It’s never leaked (I know some have issues but she hasn’t) and is still in perfect condition.
