Thread 3 - The one with the Grim Giftsets

Thanks to @SpottyBumPony for giving us such a grim code Xmas Grin

I've spent the afternoon going through the Christmas list and feeling very overwhelmed about how much to get and how much it'll all cost. I need to get control and organised.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Loads of great quality books reduced here. I have just bought 16 different military based ones for various males in my life, including my incredibly hard to buy for 14 year old. It's not just books on weapons and tanks though, there are classics, some beautiful Harry Potter ones, Hairy Mclariy, diary of Anne Frank and various other children's ones. I have ordered from here before and can vouch for the customer service and quality. Postage is £4.95 but I spent enough to make it barely noticeable! https://tankmuseumshop.org/collections/books-under-5

Books under £5

Great reads for great prices, including classic literature and non-fiction.

I received my catalogue from Postscript books this morning. (You can buy online but I like browsing from the catalogue)
Some beautiful gifts and of course books at very good prices. I'm ordering a lovely set of 10 Monet design gift boxes at £19.99. A bargain I think to make a nice gift very impressive. I always seen to find something a bit "different" from here and the cs is excellent. I've ordered from Postscript for years and I can recommend.

I have disappeared into a glorious rabbit hole with this company! Thank you so much for saying about them. Books for both dc, my dad and sister sorted.

IggyAce · 01/10/2024 15:36

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile thanks for the tank museum, I’ve ordered books for my dad, grandad and son.

Dork Diaries might be a good bet, or Amelia Fang.

My kids that age loved the Percy Jackson book series

And me. Oh well, the reviews weren’t great so maybe we’ve all been saved from panda eyes.

Just had this email from decathlon. £10 off £90 spend if you download the app. Might be useful if you have an expensive thing to buy.

@issantahereyet the munchkin bath crayons come in a little plastic holder, and you sort of click them up in stages as they wear down. Sainsburys sometimes have them on a nectar offer, or they’re on Amazon.

another vote for the bath barista set here, too.

Ahhhhh - some one used it before I even could!!!
Bit mean really ☹️

YeahWellWhyNot · 01/10/2024 17:47

I'd definitely recommend PM'ing each other codes if you are gifting them. There are loads of "lurkers" on this thread that sadly never contribute to the deals but will grab codes before the intended recipient (moan over)

issantahereyet · 01/10/2024 17:51

@Blessedbethefruitz @Marsmoon1 @BourbonsAreOverated @MaybeItsJustTimeToStop @MamaK19 @OkyDoke @NorthantsNewbie Ah thank you all so much for such brilliant suggestions! The barista bath set seems to be a hit especially 🤩 somehow I've never seen that before, but he'll absolutely love it, thank you all ☺️

Now off to add everything to my basket 🫣

ShangPie · 01/10/2024 17:55

@issantahereyet if you’re looking at Munchkin, they do some great ‘bath pastilles’ that are little tabs you drop in to change the colour of the water.

We got DS3 a big pack last year and he had great fun mixing them up (after watching Colourblocks and learning how to ‘mix to make’ different colours)

Much smaller than bath bombs so less risk of skin irritation too
