Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us!

I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we couldn't just bought a smart tv by now with the amount we've got through as they break after a year or so) and noise cancelling headphones for DD. Hope you're all getting through the lists - December is fast upon us!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

How to do click links -

I hope that makes sense…

Present tracking apps might be of interest eg Santas bag, gift list.

Here are some useful websites:

Amazon free delivery tool here

Aliexpress [[http://www.aliexpress.com www.aliexpress.com . Useful tips here from sorryiasked: Aliexpress is a Chinese site that sells everything! Assume all branded stuff is fake. I personally wouldn't buy baby toys or electronics from there as I don't have faith in the product safety. But for fan merchandise, dolls clothes, "lego", household items etc it's great. Check the size guide on clothes and lower your expectations!
Use a seller who has a 4.5 star rating or higher.
You can pay via PayPal and there is an excellent tracking system, but be aware express postage is usually 2-3 weeks and standard postage up to 2-3 months.

Bargainmax here

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

Lisa angel sale is popular when on, apparently arrive nicely packaged too here

Magazine subscription offers here and here

Netpricedirect has discount toys and party bits here although be aware reviews of the site is mixed

Toys for a pound here

Any additional websites or recommendations to add - just let me know Grin . I should add something about Ali express maybe as we’ve had that before…will get my brain thinking about what other sites/products have been popular.

I would say so!
My 14 year old brand/fashion conscious daughter has asked for a pair of the cream lined ones!

Thanks, that’s good to know. Im looking at white classic or lined.
and they seem to be cheaper if you buy the kids ones which look to go up to size 5 or 6 I think

vjg13 · 25/11/2023 07:12

@Lastminutebride i would say yes too. My daughter is 20 and does wear them. It may be specific colours/styles though.

redjoker · 25/11/2023 07:15

Worth checking top cash back on very orders. I got 7 quid back on my 230 order yesterday and that was with the use of the WELCOME code. Sometimes topcashback doesn't like it when you use codes so that was a nice surprise

SadlyACupOfTeaDoesNotSolveEverything · 25/11/2023 07:18

ASOS have lots of New look bargain items. Some are a fraction of the price on New looks own website. HAUL for extra 20%

redjoker · 25/11/2023 07:20

Asda app has this. And also 10 quid back on Xbox'

Do Fortnum's do any discounts? Or free delivery at least? 🤞

They never really do discounts, but it's free delivery atm (final week) on selected hampers and advents.

Amazon have Olay and L'Oreal spf day creams and night creams at good prices. Just got Revitalift spf 30 for £5.70.
Nice for sensitive dry skin. The Olay retinol night cream is also fragrance free.

Thank you for the new thread. I need stocking presents - ideally under £3 a pop - for an 86 yr old woman, a 60 yr old woman and a 25 yr old woman - 4-5 gifts each. I went round the Poundshop yesterday and found a small number of things but it seems really hard to find anything.

Any ideas welcomed.

Would the cath kidston crackers pp mentioned work? They were from tesco, I think four pack for £8? You could split them between the recipients.

For those asking what the endoscope bargain was. It was this camera but with a further 50% voucher, which disappeared and then reappeared so might be worth keeping an eye on it to see if it dips again.

Has anyone seen any discounts on flower deliveries? For Black Friday last year, M&S did 25% off a lot of their flower deliveries and had delivery dates into January. We have a number of elderly widows in our family who get loads of flowers & chocolates at Xmas and all seemed to appreciate the surprise of a flower delivery in early Jan when it's all a bit dull and gloomy after Christmas. M&S only seem to have their more expensive bouquets reduced this year.
Bloom & Wild do have some things discounted but for more immediate delivery. That might be the fall back as then they could be delivered next week and make the house look nice now.

Someaddedsugar · 25/11/2023 08:11

F&M sometimes do cashback via the bank deals if that helps? They did via Lloyds last Christmas but not this year unfortunately.

christmaspudding43 · 25/11/2023 08:15

Could anyone suggest brands of moisturiser for a 13 year old? What's cool? Obviously I can pick moisturiser but I'm going to assume there are particular brands she might want.

Crapyeartoo · 25/11/2023 08:16

Joining the thread, normally just a lurker, as I’ve done almost nothing when at this time of year I’m finished. Bit scary tbh.

need something for my dad, 75, mad golfer, few health issues, was thinking some sort of watch, he’s into tech, got an iPhone, iPad, etc. already got a golf Garmin watch but only wears it there. Thinking something with text, phone ringing, heart monitor etc.

DB is willing to chip in so was thinking £100-£149 max.

redjoker · 25/11/2023 08:17

Has anyone actually bought this and would they recommend? My ds6 loves checkers and card games. There seems to be a million variants on amazon. Not sure if they are literally all the same bar price?

Can’t remember the poster after the wooden kitchen - if you order from studio but through house of Fraser it’s still £20. I’ve had deliveries coming through (wrapping paper) that I would normally buy directly from studio. (Studio seem to be having problems with their ordering systems) I’d definitely second the recommendation!

Beautifulsunflowers · 25/11/2023 08:22

I’ve had some really good bargains from these threads but I’m struggling to keep up! Thread 13 already! However I have FOMO so just can’t stop picking up my phone to see what I can buy next!
I need either the Lego icon corvette or Porsche which I was hoping wouid go down in price with a black Friday offer but sadly not. The best I can get is the Porsche in smyths with the £10 off £100 spend. So lovely bargain hunters - if anyone sees either of them for a better price I’d be forever grateful.
