Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us!

I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we couldn't just bought a smart tv by now with the amount we've got through as they break after a year or so) and noise cancelling headphones for DD. Hope you're all getting through the lists - December is fast upon us!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Has anyone actually bought this and would they recommend? My ds6 loves checkers and card games. There seems to be a million variants on amazon. Not sure if they are literally all the same bar price?

I spent a lot of time looking at these last week. My only concern is really it was a game for two. Turns out adult DD has it, says it’s lots of fun, and they bought another one to make it a good game for four.

we love Quirkle, for two or more players, I think kids would enjoy it too.

@wideawakeinthemiddleofthenightagain

I've always found Bunches to be really good and do a range of letterbox flowers too. Christmas themed flowers only booking for the season but other ones can be booked well ahead. Black Friday discount until Monday I think it said with code BF2023 for 20% off. Customer service is good and on topcashback....but may not work with the code.

Could anyone suggest brands of moisturiser for a 13 year old? What's cool? Obviously I can pick moisturiser but I'm going to assume there are particular brands she might want.

My DD loves The Inkey stuff on Amazon.

Worth checking top cash back on very orders. I got 7 quid back on my 230 order yesterday and that was with the use of the WELCOME code. Sometimes topcashback doesn't like it when you use codes so that was a nice surprise

It may decline later, even if it has tracked.

I might get it. We play alot of games just me and him and it looks like it might travel well seeing as it's rope and stones 😂

Thanks for the new thread @Reastie.

@Lastminutebride I would say crocs are a great buy for a teen. My DS18 wants some for Christmas.

@christmaspudding43 I use Dermalogica in salon and the clear start range goes down well for teens. I do believe it's now stocked in Boots. The ordinary is always a good brand to go for as well.

I'm still looking for a nice coat for DS17 thanks for the recommendations so far. I can't make a decision is the problem.

Joining the thread, normally just a lurker, as I’ve done almost nothing when at this time of year I’m finished. Bit scary tbh.

need something for my dad, 75, mad golfer, few health issues, was thinking some sort of watch, he’s into tech, got an iPhone, iPad, etc. already got a golf Garmin watch but only wears it there. Thinking something with text, phone ringing, heart monitor etc.

DB is willing to chip in so was thinking £100-£149 max.

My Dad has the golf Garmin and is golf mad. You can get sensor things that you put in the top of the club and the watch and app will analyse his swing for him. Knowing my Dad I would say if he doesn't wear his Garmin out of golf he might not wear a smartwatch on a day to day basis. However he asked for these and has subsequently asked for another set of them since. I don't know what discounts American Golf might be doing, but other retailers sell these too.

Always live in hope! I once got £45 cashback from Quidco on an energy swap I'd cancelled! So you never know.

Thanks for this one just bought it for 10 month old DNiece!

MerylSqueak · 25/11/2023 08:48

@GrangeFill it's worth looking at Tesco gifts if you have a club card. I was looking for a hard to buy for teen boy but found good things under £3 with clubcard such as a rip off tile finder for his keys.

They also had Christmas toilet paper with a Christmas cracker joke on every sheet which I know my dd will love for £2.25 with clubcard.

MerylSqueak · 25/11/2023 08:49

Ohh! And also in Tesco good clubcard reductions on Thermos products with clibcard. About £5 off the travel cup.

Definitely Byoma. Really popular with teens, affordable, very effective and looks nice, too! My dd has lots of fancy skincare but this is the cheapest and one of the best. You can get it in Boots.

Apparently Byoma is popular amongst teenagers at the moment

Has anyone seen any discounts on flower deliveries? For Black Friday last year, M&S did 25% off a lot of their flower deliveries and had delivery dates into January. We have a number of elderly widows in our family who get loads of flowers & chocolates at Xmas and all seemed to appreciate the surprise of a flower delivery in early Jan when it's all a bit dull and gloomy after Christmas. M&S only seem to have their more expensive bouquets reduced this year.
Bloom & Wild do have some things discounted but for more immediate delivery. That might be the fall back as then they could be delivered next week and make the house look nice now.

I would recommend signing up for Bloom & Wild emails, they send me 20 & 25% off codes every other week so I would never pay full price there!

Mytribeof3 · 25/11/2023 08:59

Posting again in the hope someone has a Pandora code they would be able to share please? They tend to email a couple of days with a 'thank you for your purchase, here is some money off' and a code to use at checkout 😊

15% cashback on TopCashback. Can't see anything else though.

GrangeFill · 25/11/2023 09:07

Many thanks for all the suggestions! I don’t have Tesco club card but do have Nectar so will check that out - plus the other suggestions.

Just bought some Byoma moisturising gel for my DD yesterday - Boots was out of stock so I got from Cult Beauty.

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 25/11/2023 09:10
