Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us!

I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we couldn't just bought a smart tv by now with the amount we've got through as they break after a year or so) and noise cancelling headphones for DD. Hope you're all getting through the lists - December is fast upon us!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Can anyone recommend any gifts for 10y boy? I need some smaller presents to make his pile not look tiny in comparison to his toddler sister and all his gifts have been extortionate

Snack box/hot chocolate selection, Oodies or fluffy blanket, annual or comic book, board game (I bought Nice Buns for my 10 year old - 3.99 in Home Bargains, Amazon have Hand to Hand Wombat for about £12), craft kit (the Works have a 3 for 12 offer on)

How about a squishmallow? My dds like using them as pillows.

One year for dd1 I did an explosion Box with gift cards/photos and inspirational quotes. She loved it and took a while to unwrap too. I did gift cards for Costa, the works, primark, hmv, roblox, forbidden planet.

New backpack/pencil case/lunch box/ drinks bottle. Clothes.

Big box of his favourite treats and homemade voucher for a 1 on 1 cinema trip or movie night once toddler is asleep.

Milk frother with loads of different hot chocolates/marshmallows went down well here.

Board games? Mine love dobble, payday, exploding kittens, OK play, disney colour brain, cluedo rivals edition, jenga, boggle.

Could you wrap some of his smaller gifts in larger boxes? I got some Christmas ones from home bargains or b&m a few years ago. I use them for the smaller gifts with tissue paper etc inside.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 29/11/2023 09:25

I was holding out for the free easel calendar photobox have done the past couple of years but looking at my order history it was around the black friday dates.

Looks like they replaced it this year with free cards (which are very lovely I must say)

If anyone spots the free calendar deal please post. I am signed upfor their emails so I should spot it if it comes up but just in case

SootspriteSearcher · 29/11/2023 09:26

Oh and fake oodie, fleecy blanket and long hot water bottle.

Subscription to something? Dd1 loved a crunchy roll Subscription (anime) and dd2 im doing a few months of Netflix. In the past I've done phoenix comic, beano, Spotify (we kept this!). I think roblox do one too?

But my 11 year olds most used item is her ipad - she plays games, watches TV, does homework.

She also likes using the family nintendo switch for legend of zelda and animal crossing. We play super smash bros, mariokart as a family and I've bought Mario party for this year.

I also have had this through on emails this morning - looks like a great deal and if I hadn’t already spent a small fortune on Estée Lauder and ordered the blockbuster I would purchase (click the photo for the code)

@MamaK19

I got a Dove pamper set for an elderly relative last year and it was well-received.

In previous years, I got her a letterbox tree from Moonpig or Funkypigeon, with some chocolates.

A Xmas plant, chocolates and sparkly wine gift set from M&S was a hit, (but Marks’ delivery service was dreadful!)

PieonaBarm · 29/11/2023 09:33

Turtle Dove wrist warmers? I'm in my 40's and love mine!!

Argos have some big reductions on toys with good availability, including the Beast Lab stuff mentioned previously for £60 and this Paw Patrol pit stop vehicle which looks a decent size for a tenner.

The 14” squishaboos are about £10, I got one from temptation gifts, double uk as a pillow too!

Be careful, this offer is for the booster box which looks like it contains mixers, garnishes and treats, but not gin!!

Forgive me if it’s already been posted but the thread moves too quickly for me to keep up! Just ordered this cute nutcracker soap dispenser (and matching towels) at member only price of 4.99 https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1086687001.html

Oh booo think it’s expired ? Do I just sign in and add to basket ?
i collect nutcracker themed decor

RainbowZebraWarrior · 29/11/2023 10:28

Craft gin booster boxes definitely do not contain the gin.

December 2022's box is sold out.

That advert is for the 2023 booster box which is just extra mixers and nibbles to make extra drinks.

Do people make their own American/Japanese snack boxes or is there a go to company?

Blippo is good, but you’ll have to check delivery times for getting here.

b and m tend to do good American stuff.
my local sainsburys world food section is great as well

I just want to give a shout out for laithwaites but mostly their telephone customer service (online chat and emails haven't got me far)

Thanks to MN I had 3 Refer a Friend codes for £40 off each (TREAT A FRIEND TO £40 OFF AND GET £40 OFF FOR YOURSELF). All coming up invalid, so couldn't place any orders. They have helped me over the phone to get them working, and when one refused to work they took £40 off my order for me. I signed up for free delivery (which I will cancel tomorrow or next week)

I got £140 worth of Hampers (2 hotel chocolate ones and a biscuit one) for £27

They really went the extra mile to sort it, Lets hope they turn up now or I may eat my words eh

Bloody he'll that's amazing!! I'm having a mare with Papier at the mo as my referral bonus I got from another posters sign up isn't showi anywhere on my account. They say they can connect it if I have my "friends" full details (which obviously and understandably I don't have!).

I think they may be doing this to put us off sharing codes Confused
