TedWilson · 16/11/2023 23:36

The Jim mug is comedy gold!

It was only about £6 from ebay! I've ordered one for my 20 year old sister too 😆

TheGirlWhoLived · 17/11/2023 11:49

@TedWilson my dd is 13 and isn’t bothered about brands like Dior and Vivienne Westwood yet, I’d rather get away with the mid brand stuff for a while longer! I was using collection 17 until I was at least 15 😁

Does anyone have a recommendation for a crystal growing set?

PuttingDownRoots · 17/11/2023 12:02

Wanttobeok · 17/11/2023 11:58

Does anyone have a recommendation for a crystal growing set?

My experience is that unfortunately they are all equally rubbish

Wanttobeok · 17/11/2023 13:11

🤣🤣 right I'll cross that one off the list then! She does love crystals and pretty rocks though. Wonder if there's any other ideas

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/11/2023 13:20

@Wanttobeok, I bought this mining bag for my DD for her birthday as she's a fan of rocks and gemstones too. It's basically just a bag of sand and you have to rummage around to find all the stones (a mix of raw and tumbled) and also a cute little gemstone bracelet. We got the large size and my DD got about 30 stones and the bracelet! Might be of interest...

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/11/2023 13:21

Or would a rock tumbler be of interest?

Wanttobeok · 17/11/2023 13:51

Rock tumbler is a fantastic idea but I've just look and the only one close to budget has rubbish reviews.

Oh well back to the drawing board!

Wanttobeok · 17/11/2023 13:55

The mining bag looks interesting actually - would an 8 year old find it boring do you think?

PuttingDownRoots · 17/11/2023 14:05

I can recommend gem dig kits... my 10yo still lives them. She got this set last year...

HappyHedgehog247 · 17/11/2023 14:57

My DD had a National Geographic crystal growing set last year and enjoyed it. There's not lots to do but they grew really well and she still has them on her windowsill!

HappyHedgehog247 · 17/11/2023 14:57

This was meant to a reply to an earlier post, sorry

Anyone with 8/9yr old girl/s have a list yet? I've only bought 2 fairly small gifts so far 🙈

PabloandGustheGreySquirrels · 17/11/2023 15:32

This is the biggest gift I've bought so far for my almost 9yr old girl. Though I feel it would suit any age and any gender tbh! Even adults https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BSP8VRLY?psc=1&ref=ppxyo2ovvdtbbproduct_details

Borris · 16/11/2023 22:59

@LifeInAHamsterWheel It's in the picture below. I'm not sure if it's any good but I'm hoping it'll be better than the tweezers that she currently is using!

Don't let them squeeze spots!! It leaves scars!!!!

Love your list OP. So organised! I also have a horsey DD but she's a bit younger (10) so she's coveting a LeMieux hobby horse with all the accessories. Also she's getting a new Le Mieux set (Atlantic) and a new Le Mieux riding coat. I'm getting her lots of little bits and pieces - some Drunk Elephant lip balm, a heated blanket for her bed, a slime set, Oodie and some Posca pens. She's so easy to buy for, I could spend a fortune so I have to be careful not to over-buy.

Think I might still be a tween girl at heart as there's a lot present ideas here I would like for myself!

TorroFerney · 17/11/2023 15:44

Jules0702 · 14/11/2023 01:12

I won’t be getting all of these except for the phone but some ideas that I’m considering.

DD15

Stocking:
-Laneige midnight minis
-Summer Fridays lip balm
-fluffy slipper socks
-Miffy necklace
-Pandora tennis bracelet
-chocolates

Main:
-Iphone
-Longchamp le pliage tote

Oh crikey what is it with the longchamp bag! It screams lady shopper to me but of course I’m not young and with it!

IfOnlyThingsWereSoEasy · 16/11/2023 18:09

So much for people not having a lot of money! I've never had surplus money (never will now) to spend like that! Luckily, my family members (3 teens, 6 adults, 2 young kids and a baby) have never been materialistic. They don't ask for anything, they are happy with whatever they get

Mine doesn’t ask for anything, I ask her for a list.
