Hi everyone.

I know there are threads that go on RE Christmas present ideas, but personally I find it hard to skim through these to get ideas (as it descends into chat IMO). I also think it would be good to have a thread for only adult present ideas/ deals.

I would love for this thread to only have links and descriptions posted so its easier to scroll through and find good ideas (no comments)Grin

I'll go first - here are some of my ideas already:
Chillys bottle currently £4 off
Big bobble hats (not on offer but very cool idea IMO)
Xmas bauble with family faces in
Powder (fire safe) candle
(not linked) but portable chargers are handy to have
These Lulu lemon mens boxers which I bought for my partner to do sport and he absolutely swears by them
Adult lego - specifically linked this one as I think it's incredibleGrin

Any reciprocated ideas/help hugely appreciated 🙏

EDIT: please don't comment to follow the thread but instead click 'watch thread'

I've got my husband a Chilli Hot Sauce Challenge, the reviews look good and its something he loves.

We tend to just buy anything in particular we want anyway, so presents tend to be more novelty.

My DH was reminiscing about the Choose Your Own Adventure books he used to love as a child, after I found some for our nephew, so I found an adult, Midsummer Murders, version for him, just as a little stocking filler type of present.

I've bough my dad a wooden mushroom bedside lamp from Temu

There are identical ones on Amazon

LoverOfSushi · 29/09/2023 14:34

@GettingStuffed is that like this one?
@MrsBobo Hot sauce is a great idea. Added onto my list Grin

I wish I could say, "Please donate straight to the charity shop and cut me out as the middle man.' My heart sinks every year at this reciprocal exchange of unwanted tat!

LoverOfSushi · 29/09/2023 16:00

Another gem I've remembered!!!!

This shop does custom candles made from alcohol bottles. I made a custom order aaages ago for a champagne bottle (to gift to BIL - bottle was his and his DW engagement present). Was really high quality and smelt amazing.

SeedandWick - Etsy UK

Milly totally ageee - I manage a charity shop and we love January when all the unwanted Christmas presents flood in ... someone always buys them so I guess these sorts of gifts just go round in circles. Grin

Thank you for this thread! My dh is hard to buy for but he'd love that adult lego set. Going to get it

LoverOfSushi · 29/09/2023 16:10

@NnarcissaMalfoy I'm glad some people like it...

Completely appreciate that Xmas presents are not everyones cup of tea but this thread is for ideas for those that want to. 🤗

Superb! My in-laws would love this. Perfect gift!

LoverOfSushi · 29/09/2023 16:19

And for any travel enthusiasts:
Universal Travel adapter with USBC and USB connections
Again, I bought this for my dad and he absolutely loves it - takes it everywhere!
(As well as a passport holder, travel book and some Euros...Think that was my best present to date 😂)

That adaptor will be great for my dad.

Am also considering some luggage trackers if anyone has recommendations ?

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 29/09/2023 17:00

Last year I got DH a delonghi bean to cup coffee machine and it is by far the most used thing in the house. Was a hands down winner!

CatMattress · 29/09/2023 17:03

I heard about the Storyworth pack on another thread and I think I'm going to get out for my mum and my partner. It sends prompts each month for you to write about your life story and at the end you get a proper printed book. I think it sounds lovely.

Needmorelego · 29/09/2023 17:08

It doesn't have to be 'adult' Lego. I love the Creator 3 in 1 sets that are usually around £20 -25. I prefer those to the big sets. There's an adorable unicorn set that's only £9.
I like books. If I was buying random books I like to go to The Works and get some from their 3 for £6 range. If for one person I like to get them 3 different genres - so 1 chick lit, 1 crime, 1 wartime saga.

Needmorelego · 29/09/2023 17:09

The Lego unicorn...

I listen to audiobooks every night to help me sleep. Every year I ask for Audible credits.... Every year I am disappointed

Heygal · 29/09/2023 18:40

Velvetiser - gift for any chocolate lover and even better if you give the sachets.
AirPods or AirTags (trackers).
An iou to a well researched place, such as a meal to a Michelin restaurant they’ve always wanted to go to, or the local pub they love.
Vouchers
Subscriptions like Spotify or Netflix
Decent alcohol / food gifts
board games - look at Zatu for recommendations

Muchtoomuchtodo · 29/09/2023 18:46

That adapter will be great for DS - thanks!

These Chilly travel cutlery sets are ideal for lovers of the great outdoors. I’ve never found one that is nice to hold and put in your mouth, I have high hopes of these! https://www.chillys.com/uk/pages/cutlery-set-brand-page

Lovemusic82 · 29/09/2023 19:11

I don’t really buy for adults, got fed up looking for nice gifts and them not being appreciated so now I don’t really bother or I gift food items or a bottle of alcohol. I do have 2 almost adult dc who I will be buying for so hopefully I can use some of the ideas on this thread. Lego is always good, I buy my dc and myself a set each year (single parent so no gift from a dh). I like the look of the Lego insect set this year, we have some of the botanical sets which are great.

DilemmaDelilah · 29/09/2023 19:44

I have to say I would not appreciate nearly all of the gifts that have been suggested, but obviously that's just me. Definitely wouldn't want scented candles etc, or bobble hats. Already have chargers etc, wouldn't want air pods/tags or lego. Definitely not a velvetiser, but the coffee machine might be nice!

Now I am older I don't want to clutter up my home with things I haven't chosen, so I make a list with suggestions ranging from very cheap to quite expensive for people to get ideas from. Books are always welcome, or specific things to do with my hobby, or plants for my garden.

JarOfRocks · 29/09/2023 19:59

I really like jigsaw puzzles (Galison or Ravensburger) and craft kits e.g. felt sewing kits from Etsy. I also love the Lego flower sets and books. Most of my friends are like minded, so would appreciate these for Christmas. I'm never keen on bubble bath sets or booze, they just seem so thoughtless and impersonal.
