M&S 12 days of treats - rubbish!!

I see others have had free bottles gin and other delights, and am feeling a bit miffed.

I got a free small hand cream (which they didn’t even have at my local M&S) on the first day, and it’s been utter rubbish every day since - think 15% off women’s rights, 20% off skincare, 15% off a Panettone, £1 off a light up shortbread lantern. Just so disappointing.
Anyone else feeling the same? Does it go by how much you spend in M&S, I spent maybe £800 a year I’d say. Perhaps that not enough to get the good stuff?!

That should be women’s tights 😂

I'm the same, mine have all been discounts off things I wouldn't buy anyway.

I didn't get 15% off women's rights though, that sounds more political than M&S Xmas Grin

OldEnoughToHaveReadBunty · 11/12/2022 17:44

I haven't taken part but several work colleagues have. They all got decent gifts for the first day or maybe two (gin, mince pies, percy pigs etc), and since then have just had 10% off codes for things they probably wouldn't even buy.

BigcatLittlecat · 11/12/2022 17:44

I hear you! Mine were rubbish! There must be some algorithm, but it's not on my favour!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 11/12/2022 17:44

15% off women's rights? Is that the fact they're letting male bodied people in to the women's changing rooms?

But yeah, it's shite. I got a light up tea lantern and I don't drink it. Other than that, it's all discounts on stuff I neither need nor want or stuff I have already bought recently so don't need more of right now.

functionoverform · 11/12/2022 17:47

I got the free gin and redeemed it plus 20% of prosecco, very pleased. Husband got the same, so very, very pleased!!!

TrentCrimm · 11/12/2022 17:47

Aye, mine have been shite, although to be fair, I haven't bought anything from M&S for about a year (damn I miss those syrup sponge desserts)

I will be claiming the free Percy Pigs though. Even though they ming

Petronus · 11/12/2022 17:48

Yep, it’s just their usual discounts repackaged. My mum did get gin which is decent, but I haven’t had anything worth bothering with.

TangledBlue · 11/12/2022 17:50

It's been pretty rubbish so far. I think they'll have some good freebies tomorrow though for the last day.

Sunbird24 · 11/12/2022 17:52

I got 15% off slippers, 2 days after I’d bought 2 new pairs of slippers… 🤦‍♀️

OldTinHat · 11/12/2022 17:54

I was lucky and got the gin but all the other daily offers/discounts have been useless to me.

DarkDarkNight · 11/12/2022 17:58

I agree, mine have been rubbish. £1 off a shortbread tin and 15% off Cornish Cove Cheddar 🥱

Itssnowingagaintoday · 11/12/2022 17:59

Free chocolate footballs on day 1 then 10-15% discounts on stuff I have no interest in buying. Surprised that not all the discounts are for M&S stock. I got 15% off Samsung. I’m hoping to finish in a blaze of glory tomorrow but I think I’m likely to be disappointed!

Wagsandclaws · 11/12/2022 18:00

I got rubbish offers too - I spend so much with them and never get any decent offers through the year 🙄

cinnabongene · 11/12/2022 18:03

It’s a load of crap. I had a Robin Christmas decoration on the first day. DH had a Percy Pig decoration. Neither available in store. Other days have been things like 10 percent off flowers for delivery and the stupid Tonies thing

UnderPowered · 11/12/2022 18:05

I got feee Percy pigs on day 1, then just small discounts since then. Percy pigs are weird, my son refused to eat them 😄.

I wonder what day 12 will bring.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 11/12/2022 18:13

Sunbird24 · 11/12/2022 17:52

Me too. I've reordered them with the discount and plan on returning the original pair when they arrive.

SecretVictoria · 11/12/2022 18:18

Mine have been rubbish too. Got the free tea lantern on day 1 then just discounts for things I’d never buy and don’t want.

HideTheCroissants · 11/12/2022 18:19

You’re not wrong OP. I got free shortbread on the first day and money off Prosecco on the second…. neither item on stock at the three branches I tried… and the staff told me they aren’t expecting more stock. The free shortbread expires tomorrow. Just money off things I’m not going to buy ever since….. very disappointing….

EricNorthmanYesPlease · 11/12/2022 18:25

Ive had nothing free!

WimbyAce · 11/12/2022 18:28

I got a free tea lantern on day 1. £1 off the shortbread one day. But apart from that just % discounts.

ChristmasCwtch · 11/12/2022 18:31

I spend a few thousand a year at M&S. I got a free string of stocking lights on day 1 and then a load of rubbish discounts I have no intention of using.

What a waste of time!! I’m holding out for the golden bonus tomorrow and hoping for 20% off everything like the olden days!!

Tequilamockinbird · 11/12/2022 18:47

I shop in M&S most weeks spending £90-£100 a time. On day 1 I got a free load of bread. Since then just discounts on stuff I don't want. So I don't think it's linked to how often you shop there.

WilsonMilson · 11/12/2022 18:50

@functionoverform do you spend loads at M&S? I’m trying to work out if it’s rewarding bigger spenders, which I guess it fair enough. But I thought I spent a reasonable amount - frankly I’m just jealous of all this free gin being handed out and only sodding hand cream for me. 😂

WilsonMilson · 11/12/2022 18:52

@Tequilamockinbird that makes it feel all the more unfair!! A loaf of bread seems almost an insult!!
