Hello,
It's getting to that bit of Christmas where I'm starting to panic about things not arriving in time
Currently I'm awaiting a necklace, that has suddenly jumped to expected deliver on the 23rd. Its the main part of my mum's gifts

Lots of other bits struggling to find their way through the post including a key ring that should have arrived at the weekend.

What is everyone else waiting for?

Is it possible to go to the local delivery office to see if RM have anything for you there? DM posted a parcel to me almost a month ago now, naively without tracking, and there's still no sign of it. It was my birthday gift. Sad Also waiting for a gift for DS that I would quite like to have! We've not seen a postie in weeks.

ChristmasCwtch · 19/12/2022 20:35

Last Royal Mail parcel arrived today. Took 10 days to arrive with Tracked 48!!

I’m only ordering Amazon and John Lewis click & collect at Waitrose now!!

tiredfriday · 19/12/2022 22:22

Has anyone seen the Evri video on Facebook? There’s piles and piles of parcels.

The only things I am waiting on from Evri are Next deliveries of outfits for Christmas Day for the kids and while it’s frustrating if I have to start trawling the shops - it’s not the end of the world. There will be people waiting on main gifts though!

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 19/12/2022 22:30

Got my last parcel today. Wrapped and now done, thank goodness. I thought it was never turning up and was most likely lost as ordered in November.

LovelyRachel · 20/12/2022 13:02

The postmen arrived in our village today. 3 vans stacked with letters.

Evri have delivered all but 1 parcel. Getting there!

Carolservicedeprived · 20/12/2022 13:05

I have some Pokémon cards ordered on eBay on 12th Dec. With second class postage and postal strikes, I knew it was a bit touch and go to arrive before Xmas. But I'm really annoyed that I have just received a message telling me they've been dispatched! Eight days after ordering!

DaisyChristmasBauble · 20/12/2022 13:13

Waiting for a top from Next which I ordered at the beginning of December, app says no tracking available 😩 it’s a gift for someone too. Weirdly I ordered some sleepsuits at the weekend for my baby and they’re due to be delivered tomorrow!

Proudofitbabe · 20/12/2022 15:51

Home from work and zero mail yet again 🙄

Ocrumbs · 20/12/2022 17:03

2 seperate deliveries of Christmas cards- think they are trying to play catch up

That's shockingly bad

NecklessMumster · 20/12/2022 17:23

My royal mail tracked package arrived this morning...ordered 3rd Dec..hurray! But sunday I ordered a click and collect from Boots for today...haven't had an email to say it's ready so now I'm panicking again!

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 20/12/2022 17:24

I’m still waiting for 18th birthday cards for my ds that were sent end of November.
Not Thortful though so when this is all over just keep using them as I think it’s the same for everyone.

FestivePinkFairy · 20/12/2022 17:51

I've got two things due from Freeprints. If they don't come tomorrow - Royal Mail - then they won't be here in time for Christmas :(

Startuplife · 20/12/2022 21:14

First post delivery in weeks today and it was all junk mail and not the two parcels I’m waiting for 😫

MaggieMagpie357 · 20/12/2022 23:01

It looks like the Christmas cards posted by DH's family won't arrive - their local postbox was so full to the brim that some scumbag managed to steal a load of cards, letters etc, ripped them open and dumped them behind the local pub. The postbox hadn't been emptied for two days because of the strikes.

OddSocksAndHollyhocks · 21/12/2022 13:12

I just ordered a v expensive item on ebay last night. Said 48 hour courier, asked for DPD but the seller has insisted upon Parcelforce so I'm kissing goodbye to my chances of getting it at all, let alone this year :(

HPFA · 21/12/2022 13:44

I ordered an electric throw from Dreamland on 7th December.

I'm actually less pissed off about its non arrival - I appreciate this has been an extremely popular product alongside the delivery problems - than the fact that it's impossible to get any information from the company about what's going on. They're not replying to Emails and the person I spoke to when I rang said an agent would call back - so far nothing. As far as I can tell my money's disappeared into a black hole.

I've warned DD her "big present" might not arrive in time for Christmas - luckily at 18 she can handle it!

I've stuff ordered from Bloomchic and according to their tracking information it's at some airport somewhere. No idea even which continent it's in. If I don't get it by Christmas, hopefully by new year. It's not critical to my Christmas. Would be nice to have though.

My order was delivered yesterday...unfortunately, the garments that I ordered don't fit so I'll be returning them as soon as I can. Bit of a bummer, but due to the delays I managed to find an alternative to wear on Christmas day, the day after and on NYE.

Such a shame and such a waste. This is the only reason I'm not a fan of buying from websites that don't have actual stores that you can visit. It's probably going to cost me to return these clothes.

Ah well. You live and learn.

snowmanshoes · 21/12/2022 16:29

Can’t grumble with Photobox - ordered things on Sunday fully not expecting delivery before Christmas which was fine but they used Amazon delivery and arrived in 48 hours - can’t complain

Proudofitbabe · 21/12/2022 22:47

My RM parcel finally made it today! Am so so pleased, had all but given up on it. Good luck to those still waiting.

Jenasaurus · 22/12/2022 00:02

well. the advent calendars that arrived 4 weeks late. I have just been issued a refund of 161 pounds! seems odd as I told them they had finally arrived, not complaining but I asked for a discount due to them arriving on 17th December and they refunded the whole amount!

VHSyeah · 22/12/2022 10:22

Still waiting for one more item.

Postie asked on the whereabouts of his tip yesterday. Was very awkward. He said he's missing a chunk of pay due to striking and that barely anyone has tipped him this year.

I felt really awful. But COL has hit everyone including us. He made me feel like a dick. There's lots of elderly people on our street who'll be guilt tripped into tipping. They've missed appointments, birthday cards, funeral / death paperwork, sympathy cards etc.

“I gave it to the Evri driver”

User963 · 22/12/2022 10:39

DPD next day parcel was supposed to come on Tuesday. Still stuck at depot and I am loosing hope it will arrive in time. It is DS's main present but it was late being ordered for various reasons and was a seven day lead time. He will just be getting a print out of the order wrapped instead. He's not expecting it and it would have been such a nice surprise 😫

That’s rude of him to ask. He chose to strike.

I tip our lovely postman as he’s been doing the same route for 20 years and he’s always happy and chatty. There’s never any expectation from him though.
