Hello,
It's getting to that bit of Christmas where I'm starting to panic about things not arriving in time
Currently I'm awaiting a necklace, that has suddenly jumped to expected deliver on the 23rd. Its the main part of my mum's gifts

Lots of other bits struggling to find their way through the post including a key ring that should have arrived at the weekend.

What is everyone else waiting for?

One package, I emailed yesterday to be told they had a backlog of orders due to unprecedented demand. They assured me it would arrive before xmas, but I am not so sure. I am not panicking though; I have enough for the recipient, these were a little bonus thing, and he's old enough (12) to be ok about it if it arrives after xmas day. It's not ideal, and I'd like to have everything wrapped by now (everything else was wrapped by mid-Nov), and it's my fault for twitching so late., but it's not the end of the world.

Mick Lynch is a hero, and I fully support their actions.

I've been stuck at indoors with various horrible illnesses for three weeks now, so I've had to do all of my Christmas shopping online so far, plus I have three family birthdays in December including DD.

I am still waiting for items ordered last month, including SIL's birthday present, plus all of DD's birthday cards arrived 4 days late (her birthday dinner was already cancelled due to DH having Covid so this was the icing on the cake!)

No chance of my other SIL's birthday card arriving on time as I wasn't aware there were more strikes to come this week. As much as I loathe Amazon I can see that I am going to be relying on them heavily this Christmas along with the rest of the country Confused

MunchMunch · 09/12/2022 00:36

I'm waiting on DPD delivering dds new phone which should have been here on the 3rd December and a few make up bits for her. Tonight I've just ordered ds1 his ninja xl and they are using DPD 😬so god knows when that'll come! I also ordered him an England top and usually I can choose which courier but I wasn't given that option so who knows when it'll be delivered and by whom.
At least ds2 has all of his presents 😁

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 09/12/2022 00:59

Finally had my playmobil parcels arrive today after taking 2wks with UPS. Damaged 😖. Something sharp has been used to slice through one of the boxes inside and it's absolutely not giftable as the contents are hanging out. To be fair they were quick to reply to my email but they can't get a replacement out to me before Christmas.

On the other hand, Royal Mail delivered a boots parcel today that was only purchased on Tuesday. I'd had an email from RM to tell me to expect a delay but very surprised by how fast they delivered.

Floralnomad · 09/12/2022 01:27

Off the back of another thread I ordered some bath bombs from Mrs snowballs - ordered on Nov 5 th , still awaiting delivery , after I emailed I received a dispatch notice with a tracking no that doesn’t exist so I’m now at the point of emailing every day , none of which get a reply . Last week I ordered different ones from Bomb cosmetic , who I’ve used before , and they have already arrived . I’m also waiting on some bits from the USA and a chopping board from this country somewhere .

BigGreen · 09/12/2022 05:39

One from a ropey facebook seller who is taking ages to post. Another pair of turtle doves gloves held up by RM.

Brandymakesmerandy · 09/12/2022 05:54

No because i havnt ordered anything to be delivered due to the strikes .
I cant cope with not being organised and the stress of waiting would have done my head in .
I purchased everything in person for the first time in years 😂

JosephFrancis · 09/12/2022 06:06

My dad Xmas gift is still not here :(

Spliffle · 09/12/2022 06:07

I ordered early to beat this shite but 5 weeks on my '48hr' delivery still hasn't arrived. I am pissed off. I'm never using RM again if there's an alternative available.

Gwdihooooo · 08/12/2022 22:18

I’m waiting for a ‘fake’ Lego set for my son that was shipped on the 30th Nov.
the company i bought it off have fobbed me off with strikes and ‘be patient’ 🙄

But it is because of the strikes.
I sell on Etsy and have no control over when a parcel arrived after i have done my part and posted it.

It's not fobbing someone off to point out all the strikes have caused massive problems in the postal service

mickandrorty · 09/12/2022 06:22

Yes i have 6 parcels none of which have updated are really late and showing no sign of turning up any time soon.
Its so bad. I have a small shop i shut weeks ago because it was clear this was going to happen, i would rather lose the money in sales at the busiest time of the year than ruin peoples xmas plans and also lose money, stock and get shitty reviews which will impact my shop in the future.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 09/12/2022 06:28

It isn't just Royal Mail. It is all companies sadly. DPD haven't collected anything from our pick up shop for weeks due to backlogs and handling 60,000 parcels a day just locally. Evri also have plenty of delays.

Thankfully I'm not waiting on anything that's a gift...just a few odd bits here and there which wont be the end of the world if they are late or don't arrive.

I sent a small parcel with royal mail on 2nd and it arrived on 6th so it is very hit and miss as smaller items have definitely taken longer

Caspianberg · 09/12/2022 06:38

I ordered some mini kids rolling pins from Amazon to host some neighbours children baking Xmas biscuits. Ordered October 26th thinking plenty of time.

They emailed again saying ‘ dispatch delayed’. They were branded, supposedly dispatched from within country, not from China or somewhere

BooksAndHooks · 09/12/2022 06:41

I am waiting for an expensive pair of trainers for my sons main birthday gift. However I was stupidly scammed by a dupe website, I don’t even know if they posted them. Royal Mail says sender advised they have sent, it’s not on Royal Mail system. It was sent on 14th November. I can’t claim money back from the bank until they arrive and are clearly fake or they don’t turn up 20 working days after initial delivery. I can’t order a replacement until I get the money back.

JRHartley72 · 09/12/2022 06:50

I'm currently awaiting a parcel from Etsy that's now a week overdue. It's not the seller's fault, it's the postal strike. The seller has been fabulous and is dispatching another one but god knows it that'll turn up either.

I support the postal workers striking though.

Willmafrockfit · 09/12/2022 06:51

ds presents from NExt, delivery is by Evrie which made my heart sink

Workinghardeveryday · 09/12/2022 08:01

Heated clothes rack ordered 2 weeks ago.

Received tracking number for yodel that doesn’t exist when tracking it.

Chased and chased but nothing!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 09/12/2022 08:13

I’m waiting for some Salopettes from Sports Pursuit, but they’re not needed until mid January and coins from The Royal Mint, both are with Royal Mail somewhere.

I sent 3 parcels with Evri on Wednesday, 1 arrived yesterday not sure about the other 2 yet.

DS is buying and selling on Dpop and is getting regular deliveries with evri. He’s posting using fedex at the moment as they’re showing no delays. The problem is that sellers are suing the same service that they always use, even though there are known issues. If they were willing to swap and change according the the current situation we wouldn’t have so many disappointed people.

whiteroseredrose · 09/12/2022 08:17

I ordered lots of stuff on 24th November and a couple more on 28th.

My second package from Crew clothing arrived, but not the first. The Evri site says it is waiting for the package. Fortunately Crew haven't argued and have sent a second package so fingers crossed.

Also a lovely silver ring from The Gold Collective vía a website link from DD. Supposedly based in Hull. Nothing since a confirmation of order, and they haven't responded to emails or phone calls. Time for a credit card dispute but I've never done one!

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 09/12/2022 08:25

I stopped ordering Xmas stuff online about three weeks ago but I ordered a winter coat for dd on 21 November and Royal Mail still have it.

The temp is -5 here so it's needed now but hey ho.

I'm doing my last present shop on Sunday morning early in my nearest city and then I'm done.

TragicMuse · 09/12/2022 08:29

Ordered two presents on 25 November. Still waiting and I haven't even had a despatch note yet.

One is for my husband's birthday next week.

Fucked off isn't coming close to covering it.

Jedstre · 09/12/2022 08:32

Yodel has been the problem for me. Two orders ordered last month and tracking just says it’s been dispatched.

snowmanshoes · 09/12/2022 08:33

I’m really worrying and waiting for:-

Dd’s main present - her coveted trainers I ordered on 26th November 🥹
Vinyl LP also for dd 🥹🥹
Niece present
Then I think it’s 4 more orders from November but things I can and looks like will have to live without.

also annoyed at how long it’s taking for refunds from returns - NEXT, PLT, and Superdrug (Superdrug were especially terrible as they received my return back at the end of October but when I queried my refund they kept telling me to wait another 5 working days) - only just been refunded - why so long?

anyway yes guys I feel all your pain and now seriously concerned 😞

Tinywaffle · 09/12/2022 08:36

Several things that were posted 48hrs between 20 - 23 November. Birthday presents for my DS that I need end next week. Have only had one delivery from RM in last 2 weeks so am not hopeful will get here

Tinywaffle · 09/12/2022 08:37

Im housebound so stuck ordering online. Think will need to default to Amazon which is a shame
