Hello,
It's getting to that bit of Christmas where I'm starting to panic about things not arriving in time
Currently I'm awaiting a necklace, that has suddenly jumped to expected deliver on the 23rd. Its the main part of my mum's gifts

Lots of other bits struggling to find their way through the post including a key ring that should have arrived at the weekend.

What is everyone else waiting for?

Yes 5 xmas presents for children stuck in Cambridge I don't think it's going to arrive in time to be honest I really don't want to buy more presents but I may not have an option

Yes I have an item sent by Royal Mail 48 on 28 November and no sign of it, the online tracking hasn’t been updated either. It’s needed for Christmas and was purchased from a small business, so I’m afraid I’m likely to need a refund and cost this business money, but I simply can’t afford to write it off.

I’ve had no issues with any other delivery service. Our local Evri courier is fab.

Arrived this morning, fortunately. First time we had seen the postie for ages.

My last one is due today, it's at the local sorting office. Ordered 30 November 👃

BigGreen · 17/12/2022 09:23

Argh my parcel only just got picked up this morning even though I dropped it off to the parcel shop on Wednesday :( I really hope it gets to my parents by Xmas.

ChristmasCwtch · 17/12/2022 19:51

A personalised item I ordered from Etsy arrived… with the wrong spelling 😭🤦🏼‍♀️

Fucks sake!!! Surely the seller would double and triple check against the original order raaaaaaaahhhhh

So now I’ve asked them to resend it on Monday. Which will most likely not arrive in time

Rainbowsandbutterflies1990 · 17/12/2022 20:10

I panic brought a few things from John Lewis last night forgetting is was going m and s today and now waiting for royal mail 🙄 I got free delivery as spent over £50 , wondered if I should have got slick and collect and that would have been delivered to shop by them direct and not royal mail! Also waiting on school photos! Possibly royal mail ! Really wish I didn't buy them as I could have got similar in m and s today!

Rainbowsandbutterflies1990 · 17/12/2022 20:41

I've just looked on email and it looks like it's the royal mail 24 tracked so possibly be ok i need for Wednesday as teacher presents. I've got fingers crossed for me and everyone else waiting on something

LovelyRachel · 17/12/2022 20:44

I don't suppose anyone knows who Sports Direct use for deliveries? Their order confirmation is extremely vague!

pennyfeatherington · 17/12/2022 21:11

@LovelyRachel they've used Evri for an order I placed on Thursday

LovelyRachel · 17/12/2022 21:18

@pennyfeatherington thank you so much! Did you receive it quite quickly? Our Evri is delivering on time at the moment x

TheChosenTwo · 17/12/2022 21:25

Ordered something yesterday and spent £10
on Next day delivery with DPD rather than risk it never ever arriving via Royal Mail (there were 3 cheaper RM options including one that was free!) and it still hasn’t arrived today 😂 can’t win!
it’s not something for a Christmas present, just something I’d rather receive sooner than later so decided to splash out on the delivery.
other than that, not waiting for much that I’m concerned about. What comes comes and what doesn’t doesn’t.
I ordered something from Boots about a month ago and it took 3 weeks to come however they have always been shit with deliveries ime - nothing to do with strikes - just always slow. I never order anything from there that I actually need quickly!

Jenasaurus · 17/12/2022 23:13

advent calendars just arrived! only 4 weeks late!

Orormno · 16/12/2022 12:24

I’m waiting on two, both with RM. One I have tracking for and it has updated since yesterday so I’m hopeful it will arrive eventually. The other is an Etsy seller who provided no tracking but has a disclaimer on their page that they won’t refund or resend items that don’t arrive due to the RM strikes. It’s a main present for dp ordered mid nov and I’ll be very surprised if it ever turns up.

If your Etsy seller refuses to refund or replace unreceived items just open a case through your orders page on Etsy, the seller's so-called disclaimer is worthless as it's in breach of UK consumer law. You'll automatically get a refund and they'll get a lesson learned.

I sell on Etsy, it's my main source of income. Crap like that harms the platform for the rest of us. The seller's within their rights not to send a replacement, but not to just leave you with no money and no product.

tiredfriday · 18/12/2022 00:36

I’m waiting on quite a few things and have no idea if they will arrive before Christmas or not.

One order was sent this week ‘standard delivery’ so I can write that one off I think! Thankfully that’s things I can just pick up in the shops and return the parcel when it arrives.

That’s good to know, thank you. I know they’re a small business so I want to be fair to them but I can’t really afford to just write it off

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 18/12/2022 08:40

Sent a load of parcels with yodel a few days ago. They're still sat at the parcel shop as no one has collected them.

Meanwhile the parcels I sent the day before with Royal Mail have already arrived. My DP sent his mum a Christmas gift using signed for and it was there in 2 days. Wish I'd just stuck with Royal Mail :(

I think I have everything I was waiting for myself which I'm thankful for as we're off on holiday tomorrow and didn't fancy coming back to a weeks worth of wet parcels.

desperatehousewife21 · 18/12/2022 09:52

Two parcels turned up (untracked) yesterday with RM thank god!

That is everything here now, no more ordering online before Xmas!

Ocrumbs · 18/12/2022 10:09

I ordered some vitamins from boots and yesterday a parcel turned up with one packet of vitamins in, what a waste of energy! Why didn't they just send them altogether?

snowmanshoes · 18/12/2022 10:19

Still waiting for my bloody contact lenses - have been promised and promised they’re on their way. You guessed it a dispatch email last night 🙄 I rang and said I’d go and pick them up but no….

snowmanshoes · 18/12/2022 10:20

I meant I’d rang before yesterday (last two weeks have been checking if they’re in stock so they DONT POST THEM 😒😩

Tinywaffle · 18/12/2022 13:56

My lovely lovely postie brought a load of packages for me yesterday - he knew it was DS birthday so had gone and had a rummage himself and brought them himself incase the RM parcel guy didn’t. What a superstar!

tiredfriday · 18/12/2022 17:38

So is it Mon-Thurs we can ‘expect’ parcels this week? I have a horrible feeling a lot of mine won’t arrive. The courier ones as well as RM.

This is so lovely. And just shows the difference between RM and other crap delivery companies.

NecklessMumster · 18/12/2022 18:35

I ordered a nightshirt from New Forest Clothing on Dec 3rd, says its Royal Mail 24 hr tracking...no change in tracking message for 2 weeks. New Forest just told me 'there's a mail strike', I might ask for a refund.

tiredfriday · 18/12/2022 19:57

@NecklessMumster a few things I’ve ordered have been upgraded to RM 24hr tracked but that’s worrying if you’ve still not had one since then!
