Parcel panic- Please join me if you are awaiting deliveries

Hello,
It's getting to that bit of Christmas where I'm starting to panic about things not arriving in time
Currently I'm awaiting a necklace, that has suddenly jumped to expected deliver on the 23rd. Its the main part of my mum's gifts

Lots of other bits struggling to find their way through the post including a key ring that should have arrived at the weekend.

What is everyone else waiting for?

I ordered a nightshirt from New Forest Clothing on Dec 3rd, says its Royal Mail 24 hr tracking...no change in tracking message for 2 weeks. New Forest just told me 'there's a mail strike', I might ask for a refund.

I ordered a dress on 26 November, posted RM 48 hour tracking on 28th. The tracking never updated at all, and it was finally delivered three days ago. So it’s probably on the way, in the pile somewhere, but you can forget about the tracking.

@LovelyRachel I ordered Thursday, evri received on Friday and it’s delayed with evri. The actual dispatch from sports direct seems to have gone smoothly. Evri here seems to be a day or two behind schedule. Fingers crossed it’s here in the next couple of days, hope yours is too.

Parcel sent RM Tracked 24 on Friday afternoon arrived today.

Package sent 2nd class RM tracked on 28th Nov still appears to be sitting outside Bristol sorting office enjoying a visit from the foxes.

My royal mail 24 tracked ordered from John Lewis Friday 1st package came today, also ordered gloves waiting for them but happy nearly all got delivered as need for wednesday

Well two of my orders have now arrived so I am only waiting for one more which was sent second class on the 28th November. If it doesn’t arrive by tomorrow I will have to source an alternative and send my parcels by special delivery on Wednesday. Such a PITA though.

I am also waiting on an order via curry’s that I placed last Wednesday but not wanting to risk the strikes, I ordered for click and collect yet I still don’t have an orders ready to collect email. Worst case I’ll have to buy a replacement on Amazon - at least they seem to be arriving fine

RM tracking just updated to say one of my parcels is at the sorting office down the road 👏

For anyone else waiting, it was a Tracked 48 posted on Fri 9th December, so has taken 10 days if it actually does come today!!

I called to get an update on a parcel today and the response from the guy on the other end of the phone was really helpful.

"It's either lost, or still on it's way"

An item ordered on 10th December on "48 hours delivery" isn't even showing an update on tracking yet :-(

Just waiting on statues now and the necklace from royal mail. Frustratingly we got post today and it was just one card

Also have a asda parcel that was due Sat, and now evri just says they have it

I ordered an Oodie last Monday and it had just arrived. Yet another parcel I ordered the same day hasn’t arrived yet but I’m more hopeful now.

@MishaBukvic my DD ordered a mug from them last week and it turned up two days later. 10th Dec was in the midst of a two day strike though so it's probably caught up in the backlog

I spent £10 with Thortful on some birthday cards which I ordered in late November. I've just asked for a refund as they arent here & its too late now and they said they will only credit my account.

Seems a bit unfair since I don't want to use Thortful anymore 😞

So if anyone else used Thortful - please note this x

I think they're on strike again today, so you won't get anything. I posted all Christmas cards on 2nd December that were not local. We have elderly relatives elsewhere who live alone. I sincerely hope they don't think we've forgotten them. We haven't received their cards yet either

My best friends mum has passed away and she's had no cards (or any post at all!) 😭 we know cards and even a self care hamper has been sent by friends who live far away.

It's just so sad.

The biggest kick in the tits is that she goes "all out" to tip her postie at Christmas. Food hampers, vouchers and money.

Meanwhile her DS teen friends are keen to become posties 🤣 yeah boys - do it. Generational take over!

Again today?? I thought it was "just" 23/24 still to go!

I feel so fucked off we've had nothing apart from a smattering of junk Mail and a Tracked 24 for the last couple of weeks. How has 3 days strike action amounted to nearly zero mail here?!

My parcel was sent 1st class on 10th, yet others seem to have received Second Class or stuff posted later already. It's SO frustrating 😩

They're not on strike today. It's only Friday and Saturday. Unless they call it off, which is a possibility that's been discussed in my husbands team.

@LovelyRachel well as the postie is fighting for their rights to sick pay/holiday pay/ decent working conditions/not being made redundant/forced into zero hour contracts your friend is very kind. She doesn't have to tip them if she doesn't want to. Maybe direct your anger at Simon Thompson, not the hard workers at the bottom.

the owner of Thortful was in the BBC last week saying the strike was costing the business £50,000 a day.

my final parcel has arrived today 🥳 no more online shopping for me for a while though, unless it’s via Amazon as they seem to be the only people who can deliver on time right now

Thanks for sharing this. how awful for those innocent employees that'll likely face redundancies as a result of the strikes. 😔

I feel bad for getting angry at Thortful earlier!

A visiting Dsis ordered slippers 6 days ago to be delivered via RM - website said 5-7 days - they arrived today. 🙂
