The biggest gift has been to have my parents to stay and for everyone to be healthy.

However presents are nice too... I was given a spa break from DH at the hotel where we got married. My dad was given theatre tickets and my mum a special piece of pottery. DH had some lovely new cookware. DS had games, books and gadgets. DD is fully kitted out in sportswear.

All in all, very happy and pleased.

A camera and a painting by my dad for our new house. Really happy with that.

A pair of pyjamas, sheepskin slippers, a couple of books, a set of Ramekin dishes, and a coat that I've wanted for ages. These are all gifts from my parents and Dsis. Tbh I'm not hard to buy for at all. I'd be made up with a pair of socks. I'm most grateful that I got to see my family this year as my DM was in the hospital (non-covid related) and hadn't expected to make it overnight. She's been out a week.

Book tokens. Always makes me happy.
PJs, furry socks, a woolly scarf and a handbag.

None of these cost over £20. I'm perfectly happy with them.

cushioncovers · 25/12/2021 19:41

Money, Amazon vouchers, baklava which I love and a garden ornament which I wanted. Loved my presents this year.

Managed to get back to the UK for a few days and home without hassle or covid so that’s the best gift!

Got home DH had done a massive shop and collected the Turkey and Ham from butcher so had a leisurely Christmas Eve - better than any material present!

Then I got a pair of Fairfax and favour Regina’s under the tree as a surprise (in fawn as I only have darker ones) in my size and a silk shirt from my favourite brand. He really outdid himself this year.

Two years ago I wouldn’t have said we’d still be married let alone happily so I have enjoyed today with the boys as a family more than I thought possible.

I got a lot of support on MN when we went through and awful time two years ago and for anyone that is struggling with a challenging family situation or toxic in-laws please remember you do not have to put up with it life maybe better if you walk away - something I never thought possible until I was given advice and support by some amazing posters on here.
Thank you to those who helped me and Merry Christmas🎄

This! Honestly inexpensive gifts are the best, particularly if they are well thought out. My fave thing this year, seeing my LO’s face as he walked into the front room!

A brand new IPad, Baileys apple pie liqueur, a leather purse and lots of lovely smellies.

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 25/12/2021 19:54

Two books on a subject I'd asked for a book about and a scarf from my DH - very pleased with them. One of the books is immense so will keep me going for ages.

@CoedenNadolig

My 7 year old got me a Morphy Richards on the go coffee maker. 🤣 with 2 travel mugs!!

My mother said he fell in love with it in the shop and exclaimed "this is just what mummy needs, because she's a busy woman, busy people like coffee"

I adore him, and will think of him as I fill my coffee cup every morning, my little poppet. 🤣

Love this!

I had really nice bedding and towels and am so pleased as it's much better quality than I would ever buy for myself as money is tight. Feels like a luxury.

EssexLioness · 25/12/2021 20:01

We do a stocking of small gifts for each other, none costing very much. My bits include some silver dinosaur studs (dinosaur mad), couple of books and a sloth book couch

EssexLioness · 25/12/2021 20:02

Oh and my favourite perfume. My last bottle ran out two weeks ago

Secret Santa at ours on Xmas Day for all adults - £20 limit and I’m pretty sure my dsis drew me. So I got two lovely books which I will enjoy reading and a lovely little note with them telling me I’m on the nice list! Me and dp didn’t give each other anything else and we both said it was so nice just to have two lovely small gifts!

LovePoppy · 25/12/2021 20:11

A new blender, new kettle and a board game from DH. I’m overjoyed

Terminallysleepdeprived · 25/12/2021 20:13

Gorgeous flowers from dp who has covid and couldn't be here. We are off shopping when he's out of isolation as he has promised to buy me some new boots as my much loved carvela ones fell apart recently.

Dd has bought me some beautiful earrings. We searched through websites together but ultimately she picked the ones she liked the most. Her dad wasn't able to take her shopping as we were isolating so he gave me money for her to online shop for me.

I only got these things. I don't have a big family and our friendship group buys for kids only.

DisforDarkChocolate · 25/12/2021 20:24

I did really well. Nice earrings, lovely make up caddy from Joseph Joseph, great books and more. It was a bit quieter than I'd like but it was still lovely. I have acquired a food baby that needs walking off though.

MsChatterbox · 25/12/2021 20:28

Slippers, chocolate and bubble bath. I'm very happy!

Becsim · 25/12/2021 20:40

An Apple Watch and Baby Yoda bits from

I got a fleece (asked for), one of those electric milk frothers, some coffee syrups (asked for), a fancy air mattress as I'd been moaning my back hurts when we camp, a bottle of hotel chocolate expresso martini and some gift vouchers. Also won £50 on a scratch card from Daunt so very happy.

Nowayoutonlydown · 25/12/2021 20:51

A snow fairy lush giftset.
Ferrero rocher x2
A maternity set with leggings cardigan and vest

topcat2014 · 25/12/2021 20:55

diddly squat farm book by Jeremy Clarkson

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 25/12/2021 21:02

For the Last 3.5 years (since he was born) I’ve told DS, just before he goes to sleep, that I love him very much. Tonight he said: mummy, I love YOU very much.
😍🥰
Honestly, the best Christmas present ever! Although the Lego botanicals from DH was also pretty nice!
