The biggest gift has been to have my parents to stay and for everyone to be healthy.

However presents are nice too... I was given a spa break from DH at the hotel where we got married. My dad was given theatre tickets and my mum a special piece of pottery. DH had some lovely new cookware. DS had games, books and gadgets. DD is fully kitted out in sportswear.

All in all, very happy and pleased.

I got a robot vacuum cleaner which sounds like a shit present but we’ve got a Labrador puppy this year who goes around shedding black hairs for fun!

TheCrow · 26/12/2021 17:16

DP got me a pusheen loungefly bag, a plush from the Pokémon centre store that I've been eyeing up for ages, a Lush Snow Fairy gift box, a grow your own bonsai tree kit and the fluffiest snuggliest pink glittery Boux Avenue dressing gown ❤️ I don't only love them but love the fact that he put so much effort into looking for things he knew I'd like and got it spot on 😍

This thread is giving me the warm fuzzies as well, some lovely positivity 🙂

FestiveMelts · 26/12/2021 17:32

I got great gifts, highlights are:

Teddy coat, it is FAB and so warm
Riding boots
Lots of premium makeup
White company candles
Jeans
Bedding

@Crispynoodle

My 2 girls and their hubby's banded together to get kings of Leon tickets, lunch at Ox and a night here (if you know you know!) incredibly happy, oh I get to take himself too!
Make sure you head to Bert’s Jazz bar during your stay! 🤗

I got clothes but all stuff I wanted and the right size. Absolutely nothing iffy. The best feeling Grin

AndrewPreview · 26/12/2021 18:09

I got a set of light up crochet hooks (technically it's one hook but the heads are interchangeable) Grin

And a big bag of yarn Wink

Franticbutterfly · 26/12/2021 19:46

DH bought me a Ralph Lauren bag for when I go back to Uni; a Dear Polly perfume; loads of Dr Jart stuff, Hourglass ambient lighting palette, Elizabeth Arden capsules set, Nike cycling shoes, Ultraboost slip ons, space masks, a t shirt that says "calm your tits ", plus other stuff. He's really generous, I really can't complain at all.

A lasagne dish which actually fits shop-bought lasagne sheets.

A laptop backpack as I need proper support to bring laptop to and from the office (if we are ever going back). I actually asked for it in October.

A upgrade to the falconary experience I got for my birthday and we cancelled on the day to bring DH to the A&E with a knee inflamation. He definitely felt very guilty.

The post has so far not delivered another present, no idea what it may be though.

A keyring from DD with my favourite animal on it so I can keep by work access pass away from my log-in USB stick which I am notorious to forget when going to the office.

We do secret Santa here for adults so only one gift, but it's one of those giant oodie type oversized hoodies.

I'd seen them and liked the idea for curling up in on an evening, but couldn't justify the cost to myself (we have plenty of blankets) so would never have bought one, which makes it the perfect gift.

Whoever it was from chose a lovely colour too.

desperatehousewife21 · 27/12/2021 07:46

Harley Davidson boots Xmas Grin

We all did well this year and the kids are really happy with what they got so a success!

Ragwort · 27/12/2021 07:51

A charity 'goat' type gift - I was genuinely delighted as for years I have asked for them and people often say 'oh no, you must have something for yourself' - I genuinely don't want or need anything.

And from my DH - nothing, exactly as requested ... a lovely, thoughtful message in my Christmas card ... that's all I want. He is very generous, we have shared finances, I could buy anything I wanted - but as above, I am at the age and stage in life where I just don't want any more possessions or 'experiences'.

wellerhugs5 · 27/12/2021 08:02

My DH got me an opal ring from Australia (lucky girl). We love the show Outback Opal Hunters and I am now the very proud owner of a very pretty blue/green ring with a triangular stone.

I'd never have worn an opal before watching the show as I thought they were generally a bit 'meh' but it's just so very pretty and I'm simply delighted 🥰

mdh2020 · 27/12/2021 08:10

Several books from my list, new and expensive hair straighteners. The most thoughtful gift from DH is an electric hot water bottle which you can wear in a belt on your back. Not very romantic but will provide much needed relief. My presents to my GDs included a locket each from my jewellery box. The younger girl cried when I explained that her locket had been given me by my father when I was a young girl.

Lots of lovely presents but this was my favourite from DH.

If you're happy with your presents, what we're you given?

A cosy soft and warm giant hoodie, lots of soap, face packs, beauty type things, some solar lanterns and other bits and bobs but biggest surprise was DH and I getting a box each from DS,s which when opened revealed they had bought us a three night trip to Barcelona next year, cheerfully announcing they are coming with us as well….. we cried 🤫

This is just the best. I would cry too!

I knew my husband had got me a coat for Christmas, so wasn’t expecting much else as the coat was already a treat, maybe a couple of small things like a book I had suggested before the coat.
Christmas Day there was a very large rectangle propped up against the wall covered by a blanket. He had only gone and bought a limited edition print that we had seen on a website from an artist we both love. It’s called New York Romance, which is where we got married, it’s so perfect and had me in tears (of joy and surprise).
I would love to know where he hid it though 😂

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 28/12/2021 15:30

@ all JanisMoplin thank you, they are gooduns (now) 😁

8Track · 28/12/2021 17:53

Motocross gloves in xxs - delighted as I have been moaning about mine being too big, and why do only the menz get a range of sizes, blah blah blah. Must've taken him ages to find!

A set of my very own flags for motorsport marshalling. Delighted!

Fluffy socks - a father Christmas tradition!

UndertheCedartree · 28/12/2021 20:59

My DC bought me a new makeup bag as they knew mine had gone missing. It was in a specific design that I would like. Honestly means so much to me. My DBF got me a dressing gown which I really needed and also surprised me with my favourite foaming shower gel, some cosy socks and a mug in a design that makes me smile.

HolesInMySocks · 28/12/2021 23:35

4 pairs of pj's! Love pj's. Couldn't wait to have my shower and put them on. I have more pj's than clothes I think.

Oh and a perfum I like to wear but mine was a bit old and had gone funny.

Flidina · 29/12/2021 20:10

Loved all my gifts this year
From Dh a new phone I wanted, pj's, perfume, then off other family members, a tablet pillow, chocolates, books, more perfume, and an ancestry dna kit.

I bought one each for my teens. They hadn't mentioned them but I kept seeing people talking about them on here.

They both proclaimed it their actual favourite gift ever, were surprised I knew what they were (cos I'm so old lol) and I'm not sure either of them have taken them off since Christmas Day!

SoupDragon · 01/01/2022 11:14

I bought one for DD last year. She wore it pretty the entire year (except when it was absolutely too hot). I bought her a new one this year as getting my hands on it to wash it was a challenge!
