The biggest gift has been to have my parents to stay and for everyone to be healthy.

However presents are nice too... I was given a spa break from DH at the hotel where we got married. My dad was given theatre tickets and my mum a special piece of pottery. DH had some lovely new cookware. DS had games, books and gadgets. DD is fully kitted out in sportswear.

All in all, very happy and pleased.

Absolutely nothing, just as I like!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 25/12/2021 16:24

What a lovely lovely thread,

I'm absolutely delighted with my presents, as I've said lots of times on here we keep Christmas very simple.

I got a nature based book which is totally "me" as per my username, a lovely curry kit so will enjoy trying those out. A beautiful tablecloth from a charity I love to support and a beautiful recycled paper note set, again totally "me".

Oh and some book vouchers so will enjoy a browse to spend those.

Not received yet but I know I'm getting a cushion and matching throw I wanted for the lounge so I'm looking forward to receiving those.

@SpookyScarySkeletons

We are all happy this year. I didn't really want much but I got an adorable new kitten charm for my bracelet (crazy cat lady), my favourite gin which I hardly ever buy as it's quite expensive and a birds of prey experience day where I get to fly owls (crazy owl lady)

DD's (12&17) were both really happy with their presents, Xbox games for the eldest and a new bass guitar for the youngest plus extras and a fleecy blanket/hoodie that they put on immediately and refusing to take off 😂

Still got wider family Christmas to come next week and I can't wait to give them their gifts!

Bedsocks and books sound bliss!

new sandwich box and cool bag to hold it v pleased

Icequeen01 · 25/12/2021 16:31

I always feel bad at Xmas as DH always manages to get me some extra surprise gifts and I only ever buy him things off his list.

This year he bought me a new iPad, which I had asked for. He also surprised me with London theatre tickets and adopted an alpaca for me which has the same name as my nickname. As part of the adoption I can go and meet the little alpaca twice during the year and take it out in a trek! I saw this on tv a while ago and mentioned how I would love to do that and DH remembered!

A five pack of cotton knickers from John Lewis from DH. Just what I wanted 😀.

Yes, you may laugh, but I love a practical reasonably priced yet well thought out present.

vampirestockingfiller · 25/12/2021 16:32

Socks, a duvet cover, leggings, chocolate, a radio for the allotment and a really lovely vintage cookbook, I'm very happy!

AnotherDelphinium · 25/12/2021 16:32

I got one of these - www.noxgear.com/tracer2
And I’m very happy! I’d asked for it a few months ago and forgotten all about it, but it’ll be fabulous for night running.
I got some other thoughtful bits and pieces too which was really nice!

vixeyann · 25/12/2021 16:32

I had some of the best presents ever this year: some bits for my bike as I love mountain biking, a cricut joy machine for my crafting, cosy bed bits (fluffy lounge top and slippers) books, some lovely smellies and chocolate.

CoffeeRunner · 25/12/2021 16:33

I got lots of Molton Brown bodywash & I'm thrilled.

I have sensitive skin & MB is about the only scented brand that suits me. I love how soft it leaves my skin.

My birthday is July so if I'm lucky I can get enough at Christmas to last until then 😁.

Luxplus · 25/12/2021 16:34

A Kay boysen Monkey Xmas Smile from dh and a book by my favourite journalist

MrsKDB · 25/12/2021 16:34

A diptyque candle, aurelia skincare, bath salts, cashmere wrist warmers from my kids and some salted caramels. Plus a promise of artwork for our sitting room when I find the right piece. I also have some money from parents / ILs and am eyeing up a Hermes clic bangle.

JanisMoplin · 25/12/2021 16:34

We don't do Xmas or presents, but my 17 yr old DS watched a film with me, and we went out to dinner and talked about his 'hopes and dreams'. He gave up going out with his mates for our time together. If you have a taciturn teen, you know that is the best gift you can receive!

Svara · 25/12/2021 16:36

Christmasdayqueen · 25/12/2021 16:44

Pyjamas, loungewear, posh shampoo, couple of make up bits, walking boots, new hair brushes, reading light, beauty salon voucher.

Really pleased.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 25/12/2021 16:44

A smeg food mixer! I’ve lusted after the food mixers on GBBO for years and years.
It’s to go in our new kitchen when we finally buy a house next year

windmill26 · 25/12/2021 16:47

I got a Monica Vinader diamond eternity ring and diamond studs from my husband. Very happy! I know we are not talking De Beers or Cartier but I am happy and grateful to receive them as a gift as just a few years ago the maximum we could spend on each other was £10 .

Sooverthemill · 25/12/2021 16:52

I'm delighted with my presents: pyjamas and a knitting journal from DD, a lot of books I wanted from DH and randomly a sculpture we saw in town this week ( I am shielding so my only trip in since September!) and DH went back in secretly to buy plus more books, knitting stuff and an online yoga voucher from the elder 2 who aren't here . And I'm happy because the gifts I chose seem to have gone down well too.

And we've had a lovely quiet day

Sugaris · 25/12/2021 17:01

Ooh, a knitting journal! How lovely. Which one?

SheeceRearsmith · 25/12/2021 17:01

@PyjamaFan

I love my presents!

My DH gave me a Roberts radio in mustard yellow, and a voucher to have a manga drawing I've had for years properly framed.

He's currently in the kitchen cooking Christmas dinner while I drink bolly with freshly squeezed satsuma juice.

Xmas Smile

I got a roberts radio too - in red. Funny thing is I also bought him one - in blue!
1967buglet · 25/12/2021 17:03

From DH, an L.L. Bean plush dressing gown with a hood, and a beautiful plum colour….as they say in Maine, wicked good. So warm and soft. I asked for it, and he went to trouble to get it from the USA.

A cool biography of a travel writer. A mug from Cambridge with Newton on it (I study him as part of my job). Chocolates from friends, £200 from MIL. Well chuffed.

Slumcat · 25/12/2021 17:08

DH got me Dr Marten boots - I’ve wanted a pair for years so I’m chuffed with those he even bought me hiking socks to help break them in, I also got Bob Mortimer’s autobiography so happy all round
