With this lockdown stuff I can think of no better distraction than Christmas! Online present hunting will he even more important right now too.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Just a heads up that Photobox is very expensive which makes the Vodafone discount code look like good value. For example a mug is £8.99, with 60% discount it’s reduced to £3.60. But a mug from Vistaprint is £3.48 at full price.

Bezzi · 08/11/2020 09:09

Are there any Argos discount codes still around please, I'd be so so grateful if so

livinginhope87 · 08/11/2020 09:10

@Kittywampus that looks great, thank you

StubbleTurnips · 08/11/2020 09:12

Thread 17 - the one where we have a small bit of festive escapism
TheGirlWhoLived · 08/11/2020 09:21

Are Victoria’s Secret better for actual teens or would be appropriate for tweens? I’ve got a wannabe 16 year old but she’s only just 10 Grin

IHeartKingThistle · 08/11/2020 09:24

@ArthurChristmas2 I've just got us the polar bear ones from M+S - seem lovely though obvs not tried on! The kids' top halves seem weirdly long but I have weirdly long DC so should be fine Grin

sorryiasked · 08/11/2020 09:24

@Bryna having spent many years buying diecasr, it's a case of choosing prices and shopping costs. My usual go-to were Ebay, Amazon (.co.uk & .de) Scale Farm and toycardealer.com who do siku.
Try and search by the reference number to get the best results.

ArthurChristmas2 · 08/11/2020 09:30

@JoanneCofton @IHeartKingThistle thank you! Coffee brewed, I will commence my search! I have weirdly long topped children too so that might be a help 😂

coffeetofunction · 08/11/2020 09:40

@thegirlwholived have a look at the SO sprays. They are lovely and age appropriate, although I got one for my birthday and I love it. My 13 year and her friends all buy each other them for presents.

InDreamland · 08/11/2020 09:48

House of Fraser 20% off full price with code AUTUMN20

They also have 50% off select gifting with a recognition card.

thelegohooverer · 08/11/2020 09:49

Aveda have a “game” on their website. I got 20% off a £50 spend.

IHeartKingThistle · 08/11/2020 09:51

I want to get DD (14) a skateboard but it doesn't need to be a swish one or anything. Not a mini one though. Any ideas where I should be looking?

@coffeetofunction thanks, I remember so (and even a bit of impulse!) from my own teen days but they’d slipped my mind. Sure they were only a quid or so too Grin

sycamorescrumptious · 08/11/2020 09:53

www.skatehut.co.uk/ have some Black Friday offers on @IHeartKingThistle might be useful for a skateboard

XmasLockdown · 08/11/2020 09:54

If anybody has any Argos code I would be very happy! I need to get Xmas present for dd.

pigeonorstatue · 08/11/2020 09:57

Can anyone help with discounts at Smyths Toys please? Wondering if I should wait until Black Friday... do they usually offer discounts?

Inastatus · 08/11/2020 10:01

@TheGirlWhoLived - I’d say the VS spray is appropriate for tweens/early teens. My DD was very into them at those ages and they do smell lovely. She ‘s 16 now and starting to move to more expensive ‘proper’ perfume.

IggyAce · 08/11/2020 10:03

@TheGirlWhoLived my dd14 & friends love the So body sprays the ones in the pump spray bottle they have scents such as Candy Floss, Bali Breeze they are availed from B&M, Bodycare, Boots & Superdrug. The mini ones start from 99p. Do they may be better for a 10 year old.

Courtney555 · 08/11/2020 10:07

Does anyone know when the white company will do their Nov 25% off promotion?

IggyAce · 08/11/2020 10:07

@IHeartKingThistle we got our DS a skateboard bundle from Skatehut. They have some informative reads so we are confident we have chosen a suitable one for him as we didn’t have a clue. Fast delivery and it seems excellent quality for the price.

Bryna · 08/11/2020 10:15

Thank you @butmumineedit and @sorryiasked , that's very helpful I shall have a look

margaritasbythesea · 08/11/2020 10:21

For the poster looking for geology gifts for their son try Finest Fossils, ukge or their sister site mylost gems. Finest Fossils had some awesome dinosaur teeth yesterday, if anyone is looking.

Here's ukge

Thanks for the Ticket to Ride tip off Fireflygirl. I was kicking myself for not having got it before.

pigeonorstatue · 08/11/2020 10:25

I missed the Disney 24% off (weeps). Does anyone have any codes or know if there might be a 20% off coming up? I have a 10% (Minnie10) if anyone is interested but think there could be better deals to come!
