Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Love to you today fluffy Flowers

DH is taking DS to a trampoline park first thing and then his best friend is coming round to play :)

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 07:22

Thanks fluffy. A kids party is not my idea of fun.

Was going to to Tesco this morning but it's in the town with the corona diagnosis so might not go WinkGrin

pussycatinboots · 29/02/2020 07:55

Morning Blush sorry I've not been around much, but I've tried to keep up with most things.

fluffy, why and PJ Flowers your gran sounds amazing.

Emrys Grin your DH'll need Wine later.

Wreck I always seem to get coughed or sneezed at when I'm in Tesco - I go to Sains more now Grin

FireflyGirl · 29/02/2020 07:58

Morning. I was at my cousin's wedding yesterday, so haven't caught up with the thread yet.

She planned it in 5 weeks, because her grandad (other side) was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Unfortunately, he didn't make it. It was a lovely wedding, though. Although I nearly keeled over when they charged me £4 for a pint of lime and soda water!! ShockShock

We already have food stored from DH's Brexit panic, so we'd be good for a couple of weeks quarantined. I will need to get some more toilet roll, though!

DH would probably get Corona virus, because he gets everything. He had swine flu twice!! There's not been any indication of it up in the wilds of Yorkshire, though, so we're not overly concerned at the moment.

EmrysAtticus · 29/02/2020 08:01

Well DH has just woken up with vertigo (he is prone to it) so no trampolining today. Will stick the the best friend plan as that won't affect DH, he can just stay upstairs.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/02/2020 08:06

Oh, how bittersweet for the wedding, Firefly. But £4?!?!?!?!? Bloody hell.

We have loads of Brexit loo roll and plenty of pasta, rice, beans, tomatoes, tuna etc. We'd be OK, if a bit bored, if quarantined!

We're local to where they're treating / quarantining people, so we've talked about it loads at work. Hence them trying to get us all prepared for remote working. It makes sense to be prepared; what harm does it do?

NoWordForFluffy · 29/02/2020 08:07

Emrys, does your DH have to stay lying down when he has an attack? I hope it won't last long.

pussycatinboots · 29/02/2020 08:09

Firefly £4??ShockShock Lucky you weren't buying a round - you'd need a bank loan!
I planned ours quickly (Reg Office) as Dads cancer treatment stopped working, so I panicked a bit as I wanted him there.
Dad talked through the whole thing as he couldn't hear the Registrar Hmm (I struggled as she was barely above a whisper) and then said, "Is that it then?" when we were leaving...GrinShock

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 08:13

Boots I can't be trusted in Sainsbury's I always spend too much Grin also our nearest is a good half an hour away (probably a good job!)

Firefly that's very sad but hope everyone enjoyed the wedding, even if it nearly bankrupted you Shock

Emrys does he need the epley manoeuvre?

EmrysAtticus · 29/02/2020 08:24

I haven't heard of that wreck! Not sure that vertigo is the correct term but basically when he gets an ear infection his balance goes and the whole world is just spinning around constantly for him. Worse when he is lying down so he sits up during it. He can't do anything while it is happening and is clearly in a lot of distress.

EmrysAtticus · 29/02/2020 08:35

He has just been violently sick but has noticed an improvement from that so hopefully it is upwards from here. It doesn't usually last too long thankfully.

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 08:37

There are videos on YouTube to show you how to do it. Also some stugeron (travel sickness) might help. Must be horrible

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/02/2020 09:33

Morning everyone , 300 days Xmas Grin

I'm planning to go to visit DParents but it looks wild outside so I;ll probably re-plan for tomorrow .

Dentist appointment yesterday -oh the hilarity of trying to drink water with a non-compliant numb bottom lip Blush

We had a 2 hour snow fall on Thursday , it didn't settle ( rain all night) but it was pretty .

Emrys is it like a migraine effect - the vomiting at the end of a migraine can signal the release . I've had URTI (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection) that gives the horrible room spin ...and being flat was worse . (And no, there was no alcohol involved Xmas Wink )

EmrysAtticus · 29/02/2020 09:59

Oh maybe 70! He is definitely perking up now thankfully :)

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 10:05

I'm still not dressed. I have managed to come upstairs but seem to have stopped on my bed. Feeling very lazy today but my house is such a tip I really should get on and sort it out.

pussycatinboots · 29/02/2020 10:09

Emrys I agree with 70s When I get a migraine (rarely) it ends with buzzing ears and deafness/dizziness when sitting/standing still/vomiting - in that order. Once I've been sick I feel so much better. Hope he's ok now.

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 10:31

I don't get the dizziness but I do have to vomit away a migraine.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/02/2020 11:12

I forgot. Not only is it a kids' party, we have DD's class bear!

Grin well. yes.

pussycatinboots · 29/02/2020 12:27

I've got snow!

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 13:00

We've got sunshine here!

I've blitzed the kitchen. Sitting room next just having lunch first. Dd got pen on the sofa and I went mad because I've told her so many times to be careful and told her not to have pens on the sofa but she never bloody listens. 🤯

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 29/02/2020 13:21

Morning :) yes gran was awesome and I always think of 29th as her special day. I would think she did it on purpose she was such a character.

We have sun but it is blustery so going to hang my washing out.
