Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Washing windows is a job I've saved for DH when he's off. Have also added the back garden and his office to keep him busy Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 09:58

Happy Rudolph day!!

I have just placed an order for a fruit and salad box and eggs from the link Woolly sent me yesterday so thank you for that Woolly.

I have a headache today, think it's more worry than anything.

BiddyPop · 25/03/2020 10:15

Happy Rudolph Day!! OMG what a lovely thing to see!!

All now WFH - DD at online school in the attic (her bedroom, with proper homework set up already in place), DH WFH in the study, and me WFH at the kitchen table. (I'm being productive as you can see). Xmas Grin But I am in between reading reports to learn about my new job (I've moved internally, spent a day on Monday in my new office to hear what it is all about, the day yesterday was finishing emptying my old office and getting the tech to work properly, and now I am WFH on new things which are much lower priority at the moment and can't be progressed until we get both a new government and back to somewhat normality - at least the old role had things that were keeping going despite the problems).

I'm also keeping washing windows until the weekend. Tackling the spare room will be a job for evenings this week....it's piled high with various things as we've scrambled to get organised the past few weeks, and now we want it to be able to be turned into an isolation room if necessary so need to get it sorted.

But I hope I can also catch up here better. And hear the news about Mrs Mad's DM and Bob, all the allotments, the various adventures DCs are having with homeschooling and everything else!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/03/2020 10:35

You are welcome PJ. Have you shared it with Why too?

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 10:37

I will send her the link now. I'm pretty sure they deliver my works fresh fruit, juice and bread too.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 25/03/2020 12:25

Hi everybody. Thanks for the link via PJ Woolly.

Well the bread I made in the slow cooker is really nice. A lot lighter than the loaf looks from the outside.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/03/2020 12:57

Happy Rudolph Day
Yesterday my internet connection was being an utter arse and if I scrolled past a page /half a page it went pouff and I got the "Aww Snap" message .
(What started off as quite a cute message got bloody irritating by 4pm Xmas Hmm )

I was designated (by my Dear House Companions) to get up at the most unholy hour and haul myself to Sainsbury (I'm the only driver so, it had to be me )

No noodles, no ketchup, limits on things (as predicted )

Keep safe everyone

FireflyGirl · 25/03/2020 13:24

No ketchup ShockGrin

We're fine for most things apart from bread. Might have to give it a go in the slow cooker, even if just for toast.

Did another hour out on the allotment this morning. My strawberry bed is coming along nicely. There were a lot more people there today, but all keeping their distance. I've just done an hour of work, then going to get DS back outside in the garden to make the most of the sunshine!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/03/2020 15:11

My DS will go into decline without ketchup.
(I usually buy from Costco but not been there a while )

We'll soon be down to the Emergency Ketchup (I keep a couple of sachets in my bag for when we're out )
He isn't working at KFC now ( closed) so he cannot even buy/beg/borrow/steal from there !

CrazyBaubles · 25/03/2020 15:18

I can't even imagine my house without ketchup, I get through loads of it! I have some emergency McDs pots and some sachets of it somewhere if it gets tight.

I'm feeling a bit wobbly today. I was mid dog walk when I think my bp went a bit nuts - had a very hot flush with heart racing for a minute then a nosebleed. Very embarrassing for me (I had to use my cardi) then walk home with blood on my hands & dress.
Have been safely sat on he bed in the cool, eating a kit kat and watching tv.

On a side note - have any of you tasted the dark mint Kit Kats? They're lovely.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/03/2020 16:51

Not to gloat, but I have 2 enormous bottles of ketchup here! As in, ENORMOUS!

I hope you're feeling better soon, Crazy, has that kind of thing happened before!

I'm glad your bread worked out well, Why. I can't knead anymore, or not as much as I need to be able to, so I'm glad of my bread maker!

Sounds like you've had a lovely day, Firefly (Woolly confused me yesterday re Firefly!).

I'm a bit bored waiting for 5pm. Being alone means there's no chat and I do my work too quickly! Fail.

What a day l have had Hmm

This ream of text msgs from my SIL RE my Mum staying with Bob Hmm

SIL ....Can’t say I am over impressed with your mums move Why??

ME : I think they both thought it was for the best J xx
SIL : Well what happens if you or your Dd1 go down with the virus no one from your household will be able to go to them .
It should have been disgust with us all as if above happens it falls on us

ME : No one expects you or MY Brother or your son to do anything for them XXX
It was not my decision it was Mum and Bob's

SIL : So who would see to them , I am sure if you had said to mum this is ridiculous she would have stayed and that road is Bad for YOUR Dd1 to be driving on . At least her being here we are on the doorstep if anyone in your household goes down with it.
I think they Bob and Mum are being very selfish expecting you to travel up there everyday

ME: I really don't mind J

SIL : Yes but not all the Bridges have been crossed I sought if she will come back now all this just an excuse she as deserted all who have been good to her NDN , her other Dd (my sister) she had plenty of company some poor buggers don’t see a soul for days she never mentioned a word to me when I wS up there Sunday probably because she knew how I would react her family all around her here . I have asked and asked for her to come out for lunch or coffee and cake over the months only once did she come and let me down last minute on other occasions saying she’s poorly now suddenly she can run a marathon so to speak . Your Brother been ringing all week no reply her mob and house I have rang I give up

ME : She can't hear the phones J. Nothing was said on Sunday about going up there. No one knew . My sister took all her stuff up to her there yesterday. It's their decision, both of them. Nothing to do with me. You can ring Bob's number it's ........... perhaps it would be better for you to talk to Mum to put your mind at rest J xxx
5:45 PM
SIL : I won’t be ringing thought she was so upset about YOUR Dad crying and telling me she goes into his room every night and morning didn’t won’t to leave the house because of the closeness of him being around her ect .And now beggars off with a virtual stranger I think she as lost her marbles she’s clearly put him before us all no thought for you either with the extra traveling ect madness

I haven't bothered to respond to the last point Hmm

What do you all think?

Crazy l hope you are feeling better today lovely Smile

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 18:51

Oh god Mrs, such drama queens!! Your mum is an adult who can still be making her own decisions, do they think he wants your mum's money?

Mrsmadevans · 25/03/2020 18:58

PJ God knows l really don't have a clue but it is obvious l am being blamed for not stopping it Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 19:06

Ha well let them blame you, nothing unusual is it Grin

Mrsmadevans · 25/03/2020 19:17

Nothing unusual at all PJ Grin I am much better at dealing with them all tbh. I try to remain neutral , l could have said loads to her like, 'You were one of the reasons we have had to isolate Mum at Bob's , after you went to Bristol shopping all day last Thursday then came up to Mum's last Sunday it was the straw that broke the camel's back ' but l was very collected and said nothing [dmilr]

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 19:51

Wow, well done Mrs Grin Yet she hasn't put 2 and 2 together.

Mrsmadevans · 25/03/2020 20:08

She thinks on the one hand that it is all over reacting yet when she want to the virus has to be taken seriously Hmm

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 20:36

Oh she's one of those, Mrs how did you get to be so lovely eith so many idiots around you Grin

Mrsmadevans · 25/03/2020 21:18

PJ l read everything l could lay my hands on to escape , l really think it was as simple as that. Thank you for saying that you are so kind SmileFlowers

PJMasksGhekko · 25/03/2020 22:01

Was it your mum the problem, or your sister? Or was there alot of favouritism xx

NoWordForFluffy · 25/03/2020 22:18

Mrs, just let it wash over you. Whatever you do / say is wrong, so say nothing and let them stew!
