Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

Yep, there's one bar of Dairy Milk in the door shelf. Grin
and some peanut lion bars in the cupboard

WreckTangled · 01/03/2020 19:39

Look at all that milk! I don't drink milk but the dc do. We usually get through 4-6 pints in a week but they could do without so I won't worry about that Grin chocolate is a necessity of course

pussycatinboots · 01/03/2020 19:42

Wreck there's another nearly full one open in the door Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 01/03/2020 19:55

pussy, nothing wrong with that fridge Grin

Crazy, yes we do tricks with her, but she can get very excited and becomes a pain when doing them Grin

CrazyBaubles · 01/03/2020 20:16

puss DDog2’s other favourite places are in the middle of the dining room floor (there’s a pipe underneath that gets warm) or wherever I’m trying to put my feet 🙄

Preparing for possible isolation is probably sensible in your case Wreck

PJ ddog2 is like that. Dog 1 and our old boy before her were easy to train. Food for old boy, praise for DDog1 and they’d do anything for you. Ddog2 gets so excited at the mere idea of a treat he does every trick he knows one after the other while giving you puppy dog eyes 😂

I am an idiot. When sorting the freezer I threw a few bits away. I also misread a date and label and threw away 2 perfectly good steaks from the butcher that were meant to be tomorrow’s tea 😫 I’m so annoyed with myself.
DH is a bit bemused and keeps shaking his head at me. I don’t know what I was thinking!

Morning!

It's chilly out there! I've just hung the washing out. DH will do the towels after the school run as they have just started their wash.

That's so annoying re the steaks, Crazy. It sounds like something I'd do.

DH and I alone get through 12 pints of milk a week, more if we have puddings with custard! The kids don't have it due to their intolerances.

I can't be arsed today. Monday-itis. Grin

Morning. I am tired today the parents phoned me at 3am having a whittle.

I am on corporate induction/role specific training for this week and next week which is not appealing to me much this morning

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/03/2020 08:07

Morning. Are your parents ok why?

I'm reliving the horror of secondary school allocation day via the thread in Active. I am aware of a couple of families locally with children in Year6 but haven't heard anything about them specifically yet.

PJMasksGhekko · 02/03/2020 08:24

Morning.

My niece found out this morning she hasn't got into her 1st choice, I do think it could be because distance bless her, and with everything else that's going on I imagine she feels very disappointed bless her.

Shit head dog managed to open the front door and get out, cue me scrambling to get in the car in my pj's, luckily she saw a human and wanted fuss so she didn't far, and they knew who she was!!

pussycatinboots · 02/03/2020 11:29

PJ Grin she's not actually called Shit Head, is she?
That could be very embarrassing at obedience lessons Blush Grin

why hope all is ok with your oldies.

Been to Sains again and filled the fridge Grin

DH is tormenting the cats by throwing his stinky socks at them Hmm makes a change from chucking them at me

Mrsmadevans · 02/03/2020 14:06

Afternoon everyone
l have been MIA due to a family upset not another one l hear you groan Grin. I have practically been accused of stealing £12 in pound coins from my Mum's purse. This is from my horrible sister. Anyway to cut a long story short l found the money in Mum's tissue box by the side of her chair this morning. How the hell it got there l don't know but l have been fuming as you can imagine. It was very staged tbh. l saw it all on the nanny cam. My Mum's bag was by the side of her and my sister picked it up, took it out of the room and came back in with Mum's purse asking Mum where her pound coins had gone. My Mum didn't have a clue and my sister said 'nobody would have taken it ' but there was no need to say that because no one would dream of taking it. So it was like she was planting the message in my Mum's head. 'Perhaps she's put it in your savings pot ' me being she Hmm. l hadn't been there since Sat morning , this was Sun afternoon. My sister had been there Sat evening yet it was automatically my fault . I can't tell you how upset l have been. I felt like walking away from my Mum l really did because she didn't defend me to my sister . She said to my sister' l want to know where that money is because l haven't used it , unless she has put it in that pot', so suddenly it all turned round to me. I know you will think l shouldn't have watched the nanny cam but it is in full view & everyone knows it is there. She has an Alexa there as well that my nephew accesses to check on her too that everyone knows about. My sister is just horrible .
Anyway l just had to vent l am sorry Smile
Honestly it went on for about 10 minutes and l really suspect my Sister of staging it, to put me in a bad light because there was no need to go into my Mum's purse at all. I know you will think l am paranoid but l have been on the end of a smear campaign from my sister for over a year. I must go to the Stately homes thread , l have just remembered about it . Sorry again l just needed to let off steam.
Thank you for bearing with me everyone Smile

PJMasksGhekko · 02/03/2020 15:02

Mrs, your sister is a witch, do you think she put the money in the tissue box? Or is she trying to make your mum think she's losing the plot, I would be upset if my mum didn't stick up for me either, your mum knows you would never do anything like that, I'd like to slap your sister and I'm not a violent person Angry

pussy, no she's not actually called shit head, but that's what I called her this morning, she's well and truly hit the teenage dog years Grin

Mrsmadevans · 02/03/2020 15:12

Ahh @PJ thank you for the moral support Flowers
I don't know if she did hide it in there or not tbh but the money was hidden by the tissues on the top of it. I just felt so hurt and betrayed you know Sad
You go right ahead and slap her right across the kisser for me @PJ Grin
I do feel better for off loading thank you everyone for putting up with me and my bloody family! Grin

FireflyGirl · 02/03/2020 15:31

Flowers MrsM

You are quite honestly a saint to carry on helping your mum after everything that's happened with her and your sister (notice I didn't call her 'DSis'!!). I'd just say I was going to visit for an hour a week now and she can sort her own shit out, but I am renowned for having little tolerance for things like that.

I think more photos of PJ's dog would cheer you up Wink

DS has only just started primary, and all the kids from all the local villages go to the only secondary School, so I'm not worrying. Or am I being hopelessly naive??

WreckTangled · 02/03/2020 15:42

Mrs what a nasty piece of work she is!

Firefly it's the same here I'm not worried about getting into secondary school. We have one in catchment and it's actually pretty good as far as schools go (outstanding ofsted but it is an academy). Same with primary school we just went for catchment didn't even look anywhere else.

Mrsmadevans · 02/03/2020 16:28

You see the thing is l am unable to say anything to them both about all this because l am labelled 'aggressive' . All because l want to stand up for myself Hmm
I know @FireflyGirl l have been shat on from a great height my whole life Sad
@PJMasksGhekko dog pics here l come Smile
Bob has 2 cats and they were lovely to me this morning, like as if they knew l was upset ahhh bless .
@WreckTangled l know , l am sorry to keep on here about her but l cope for s long then have to vent it out ! I must go and post on the Stately Homes thread , they are marvelous there Smile
@NoWordForFluffy have filled the freezers up with sprouts, mashed pot, butternut squash, Chicken breasts etc , I am going to get more tomorrow. Just in case. I bought a bag of Napolina Spaghetti last week . 3kgs for 1.50 from Morrisons in the bulk aisle Grin

pussycatinboots · 02/03/2020 16:53

Mrs give me 10 mins with your sister Wink

I couldn't get the pizza DH likes from sains, so will nip to tesco in the morning. I do hope no chocolate falls into my trolley

EmrysAtticus · 02/03/2020 17:02

Basically Mrs we are all willing to go and teach your sister a lesson!

Tough day at work but happy to be home :) it is starting to feel as though the sun is battling back against the rain :)

Mrsmadevans · 02/03/2020 17:03

@Pussy you can give her a good thrashing for me Grin
What Pizza does Dh like , mine isn't really a pizza fella Grin

Mrsmadevans · 02/03/2020 17:06

@EmrysAtticus Thank you so much Flowers
l know what you mean re the sun battling through it's been beautiful here today Smile

pussycatinboots · 02/03/2020 17:07

Em Rain? We've had 2 mahoosive hail storms here, each one about 15mins and about 15mins apart.
The noise woke the cats nothing else will except DH and a dyson then the second one spooked them again Hmm
Blue sky now, blinkin cold though!

WreckTangled · 02/03/2020 17:08

It's been beautiful here too. Mrs don't worry about venting I've done my fair share!

Dd is starting a new obsession with hand sanitiser. We've had more cases very close by and they've now got and gels throughout the school and are being made to wash their hands frequently (this is only a good thing obviously!). We've had two pubs close for deep cleaning too.

Off swimming in a bit, another thing worrying them as sky news we're reporting from round the corner from there earlier Hmm

pussycatinboots · 02/03/2020 17:12

Mrs Chicago Town ham n chicken with tiger crust. I prefer the pepperoni with stuffed crust Grin
They're quite big, so i cut them into slices then clingfilm them before putting them in the freezer.

Mrsmadevans · 02/03/2020 17:39

@Pussy have had a look see and they look lovely , I love Tiger bread/rolls .l will have to try them Grin
l don't think l will be cutting them up and putting them in the freezer because they are too big though Grin
Is there a lot of cases round with you @WreckTangled , we haven't had a sniff of it yet here STS , the schools are all open here no closures, l don't know about @EmrysAtticus though.
Dh listened to an Indian Dr this morning on the news and he said it was imperative everyone washed their hands regularly because that is how it is spread. He also said many ppl who have it don't have any symptoms or even know they have it Shock
He also said the MURS and SARS was worse than Coronavirus

He seems to talk a lot of sense Smile

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 02/03/2020 17:39

Woolly they are alright just calling me instead of 111 which meant I was wide awake for ages afterwards.

PJ your dog is a nightmare.

Mrs Your sister is a toad (polite version) I am glad Fluffy is a lovely sister.
