Morning!

New thread for our 'bonus' day today.

It's the anniversary of our gran dying today; she was a brilliant lady. Very young at heart. ❤️❤️ Very knowledgeable too.

It's windy today, isn't it? We have a Spanish-named storm coming across.

I think corona is concerning in the sense that any potential pandemic is concerning generally. And, as I said, I'm not that keen on being quarantined for a fortnight or more!

I also don't trust our government to act in our best interests over the whole thing.

Anyway, kids' party with DS today. Wooooo!

He's a builder crazy

Mrsmadevans · 03/03/2020 14:59

Thank you Crazy that is so kind of you 🤗
Mum is safely with Bob and l can breathe now 🤗
On another note we hav nearly been run off the road 3 times I. The way to and the way back from Cardiff 🙄 bloody tipper lorries all on their mob phones drifting into our lane 🤯

Mrsmadevans · 03/03/2020 15:01

Crazy I hope your back feels better now 🤗💐

pussycatinboots · 03/03/2020 19:33

Watching the footy on TV with DH. One of us will be v unhappy later, unless it's a replay Grin

pussycatinboots · 03/03/2020 19:59

Ah, bugger. In off the goalie. Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2020 20:20

I'm not sure a building site is the best place for a dog (with my H&S hat on!). DH is a builder / joiner and has never worked anywhere where he could take a dog along with him!

Crazy, that's an epic sleep. Well done!

Mrs, your sister is a witch. It's awful to hear of her scheming against you.

Fluffy they're a small firm of three H&S regs don't apply Wink Bil also a builder and takes his dog. Loads of them do but the dogs stay in the van (bil has made ddog a whole lounge area in the back!) and then go out for a few runs during tea and lunch breaks.

Oh I forgot to tell you I got the refund for the car today. Via bank transfer because my card had expired (like I told him it was going to but he still didn't do it in time Hmm bank transfer is quicker though!).

PJMasksGhekko · 03/03/2020 20:27

Liverpool here too puss, I'm a nervous wreck watching the games now.

pussycatinboots · 03/03/2020 20:33
CrazyBaubles · 03/03/2020 20:41

Wreck i def think your DH needs a dog. He could put a high viz vest on him and everything 😂 laughing because I bought ours a coat because hes small and always cold but he refuses to wear it and chewed off half a strap last time

🥳🥳 For the refund, well done! 🥳🥳

Thank you MrsMad. I'm soaking in a hot bath to ease the back now.

I'm glad you got a breather but 😱 at the bloody drivers!

I'm not a footie fan

If you're as tense as I get with the rugby though you have my sympathy!

CrazyBaubles · 03/03/2020 20:42

Also, I'm watching yesterday's Liar on ITV catch up and just caught the British Heart Foundation ad. I know I'm hormonal but 😢 and 😂 at the same time...

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2020 20:48

H&S regs always apply, you just don't need a written risk assessment with fewer than 5 employees (this is my legal field!).

I don't think being left in the van is much better than being home alone. Especially with the risks in vehicles in sunny weather.

Well done on the refund!

I'm not that bothered about football. Working in Liverpool I'm alone on that score though. Grin

Crazy I'm not a football fan either. DH is watching it so I've come to bed. The dc keep asking if when the cat dies we can get a dog but unless our financial situation changes it won't happen. We definitely don't have room here either. My dads dog is lovely though she makes me feel loved and insists on sitting on my lap every time she sees me Grin

pussycatinboots · 03/03/2020 21:06

Bollocks

pussycatinboots · 03/03/2020 21:07

That's about the footyBlush not about the dogGrin

Mrsmadevans · 03/03/2020 21:11

Aw don't worry about being hormonal Crazy l read
'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' in Costco and l cried at some of the pages in it today , it was so heartfelt Flowers
Have any of you read it ? I am going to get it l think .
Not a footie fan either tbh but l do like listening to the chants from the terraces, they are hilarious.
Wreck OMG that is wonderful news l am so happy for you and your Dh bless you sweetheart Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2020 21:11

Our kids want a dog. I've said it has to wait until they're old enough to walk it themselves!

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 03/03/2020 21:15

We are watching Murder 24/7 it is very good .
Fluffy have a good sleep love Smile
I would love a dog but it just isn't the right time for us .

pussycatinboots · 03/03/2020 21:39

Well, that was a disappointing waste of an evening! DH is a typically modest Chelsea fan Hmm said "You've still got Europe and the League"

PJMasksGhekko · 03/03/2020 23:09

We can concentrate on winning the league now puss, 12 points is all we need!!

I need to get another jigsaw for the games I'm at home for.

I had an email to say that my Christmas day annual leave has been rejected, have spoke to my supervisor and she will find out what has happened, although she did say, don't worry, you'll be having it Grin

FireflyGirl · 03/03/2020 23:10

I'd also love a dog, but we're out all day and I just don't think it would be fair (even with a dog walker). The cats have to fight for attention as it is, a poor dog wouldn't get a look-in!

In other news, one of the new cases of Covid-19 has been diagnosed here (although someone needs to tell the mainstream media 'Humberside' hasn't existed since the mid-1990s!!). Time to stockpile pasta and make contingency plans...

I've never heard of that book, MrsM. What's it about?

Mrsmadevans · 03/03/2020 23:59

Firefly Girl it's a bit like a very lovely self help self love book . It is darling, every page is so sweet and not in a cheesy way. It's a friendship journey between a horse , mole , fox and a boy and it is lovely Smile

They have 3kg of Napolina spaghetti in Morrisons for 1.50 Grin
Best get to bed , have a good sleep everyone Smile

Morning!

That book sounds lovely, Mrs. ❤️❤️

We have Covid-19 across the water, but not here yet. I've no doubt it will arrive in the next week or so. I've been stocking up a bit just in case. Work is going to advise us of their plan soon too.

Murder 24/7 is great, isn't it? I love all the different types of investigations and outcomes they show.

The car is going in for the final work which needs doing today. It'll be like new!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 04/03/2020 06:48

Morning everyone. Start of 2.5 days of suicide prevention training today. I can't imagine that will be easy and at some point they will be videoing us for constructive criticism. Deep joy.

We have a case of Covid 19 here and we were checking our stores last night for a Costco trip.

WreckTangled · 04/03/2020 07:02

Why that doesn't sound fun hope it isn't too hard on everyone.

I've been awake since 4 😴 and ds is being miserable because his drawing looks like an old man and he didn't want it to look like an old man 🙄

I need to photocopy the dc's passports for their school trip although who knows if it'll still go ahead. It's a while away yet. The government are expecting 25% of the population to be infected with CV at any given time apparently over the next year
