Oh shit Wreck, I'm not sure whether to be worried about it or not, I suppose we won't know unless it gets very serious.

Crazy, me and Dh have been watching this, we've weirdly enjoyed it.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2020 21:26

Crazy yes we're re-watching it Grin

Fluffy good idea. I can't do my job remotely unfortunately HmmGrin

PJMasksGhekko · 28/02/2020 21:27

Do you think we should start prepping in case we have to stay home?

PJMasksGhekko · 28/02/2020 21:28

Can you imagine being in quarantine with a Border Collie Shock

PJMasksGhekko · 28/02/2020 21:28

For 2 weeks!!!

Can you tell I'm trying to help fill the thread up Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 28/02/2020 22:03

I'm prepping a bit. I don't fancy having no food in the house in conjunction with being told to stay at home! Nothing special, just pasta, beans, bread flour, yeast, frozen veg etc.

How small are your DC PJ? Little people, mad dogs and quarantine could be interesting.

No pets and no very small people here. DH and DS are more concerned that the footy season might be halted.

CrazyBaubles · 28/02/2020 22:07

Lol PJ, collie will definitely find an escape route if you’re quarantined!

Glad others have been watching - it is the Ben Fogle one. He seems ok on the few country episodes I’ve watched. Definitely judgey on the Wild ones though!
I’ve just been enjoying as my dream life would include a farm house, land and animals, somewhere relatively secluded.

We’ve had a talk about Corona in work too and they’re stopping people moving between offices to work unless absolutely necessary.
I’m not thinking about it unless I have to because aside from taking sensible precautions there’s very little you can do.
Also, I have enough food to feed an army stored here (not sure how, I think it's from batch cooking so much to stay on my diet) so I'm not too concerned.

DH came home early (9pm 😱) and ruined my peaceful evening so we’re doing the boring thing and going to bed soon as we’re both exhausted 😴

WreckTangled · 28/02/2020 22:22

I'm not concerned. Have been reading some interesting some interesting statistics and pleased to see no deaths in children under 10. Elderly men are the most at risk by the looks of things.

PJMasksGhekko · 28/02/2020 22:42

Youngest is 5 nearly 6, Ds2 is 13 nearly 14, he'll just be on his ps4 and moaning about the internet connection. DD1 is 11, nearly 12 so she'll just do her homework. DD2 though, well it could be lots of Mario kart and colouring, so new felt tips should be on my list Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 28/02/2020 22:51

I'm not concerned about catching it. I don't fancy being quarantined though!

The worst age is 50-70 looking at the stats.

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 28/02/2020 23:03

Bugger. I'm in that age range. I'll come back and troll haunt you.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/02/2020 23:10

I can't find the chart I saw. Numbers are higher in the 50-70 range but % wise it's 70+ who come out worse. So you'll be fine, I think!

Well yesterday's shift was very exciting/off the scale/thrilling yet worrying.

It ended with a police man with a very attractive voice calling me back. Which I am not going to complain about.

EmrysAtticus · 29/02/2020 05:47

Morning! Woke up to the sound of rain and DS telling me I am beautiful. Only he could think that of me at 5:30am Grin

Not personally worried about Corona as we are a household of young, healthy people but obviously don't want people with lower immune systems to get it.

WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 07:03

here are some stats over 80's worst effected and men more likely to die from it as well. I wonder if flu was worse or similar before there was a vaccine.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/02/2020 07:15

New thread.

There are stats about Spanish flu which was also a pandemic, I believe. I think they were similar. And they've said it'll be 18 months before there's a vaccine and we'll all have had it by then! 😂

But you're confusing concern about the pandemic with concern about getting it. I don't care about the latter but the former is worrying, particularly for those in the vulnerable groups.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 29/02/2020 07:21

I was reading about Spanish flu! People assume I'm more worried about getting it because I'm diabetic but I'm really not. I'm well controlled so there's no reason why it snooks affect me more than anyone else. Also I'm rarely ill but I know some people get everything going.

Mrsmadevans · 29/02/2020 08:23
