Crazy sounds lovely. I hanker after a bay window (probably with a window seat) and an open fire. (Not in the window, that would be weird).

WreckTangled · 24/02/2020 20:32

I hanker after a downstairs loo! It would make my life complete. If I'm getting greedy I would also like a bedroom each, plus a guest bedroom. Two sitting rooms, an open fire, a big kitchen diner, french windows and a drive. A drive with gates would be even better. Grin

WreckTangled · 24/02/2020 20:34

This three bedroom character property round the corner from me is on the market for £900k 😂

Wreck I loved it once we had a downstairs loo. I am a simple soul.

CrazyBaubles · 24/02/2020 22:10

why this house actually has 2 sitting rooms and one has a bay window BUT the bay window room has a teeny tiny radiator, uneven floor and is always freezing so we use it like a junk room office / storage. I do plonk a tiny 2.5ft tree on a big table in the bay window at Christmas though Xmas Grin

Our actual living room is smaller but better to use, much warmer.

Would love a downstairs loo and a wood burner.

Only £900k Wreck, what a bargain 😂

You get a lot more for your money here - this is on the market for £895k

In truth I am a simple soul too - would be happy with a small house of our own, a manageable garden and a mortgage we can hopefully pay off early. If we can improve the house and increase the value then even better.

Crazy - I have Christmas tree in the bay window envy.

Mrs Glad you enjoyed it. This series has been very good.

dippyeggsandham · 25/02/2020 01:28

I’m a bit of a insomniac so been browsing the threads & came across this. My DC’s dad passed away just after christmas this year & I’m already thinking about how different things will be this year and starting to dred christmas. Can I join you in your countdown and maybe get a bit more prepared for this years holidays?

Morning!

It sounds grim outside. I've not looked out yet though! 😂 I'm in hiding.

I've been plodding on with the cross stitch and am now filling in all the little gaps I've left. I should be onto the second half by the weekend (I'm a div though, as I've done it the wrong way on the material. I think it'll just fit though. Fail. 🤦‍♀️

Hi, dippy. Sorry for your loss. Flowers We're more chatty on here rather than specifically planning, so you're welcome to chat. The planning thread is this one: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/3817670-Christmas-bargain-prequel-thread-2020 and it's sequels.

You might find help on the Bereavement board too. I'm sure there'll be others in the same boat (I see you've found the thread in Christmas).

I'd love an upstairs loo. It's on my wish list (well, I'd like an upstairs bathroom and downstairs loo!).

I stopped watching Dr Who after Matt Smith, I'm afraid. Same as when I stopped when Sylvester McCoy took over.

Crazy, I'd go for the doer-upper now. But I love a project!

Welcome dippy. Very sorry to read about your loss Thanks

Fluffy two loos is the ultimate dream. My friend has three Envy

Yesterday was my first day in the new office. There wasn't a socket for my monitor so had to work tomorrow my laptop and I can't connect to the printer so have to phone IT. I also don't have a landline and my work mobile signal is rubbish. It'll all work out though I'm sure.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/02/2020 07:17

Sounds about right re the new office, Wreck. We're still having teething issues coming up to our 4th month in this building! Mainly with phones / connectivity issues.

3 loos? Living the dream! Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 25/02/2020 07:20

Morning. Welcome dippy sorry for your loss.

Wreck we have had all sorts of teething troubles with our office and at the moment my laptop only works in the office which is not entirely helpful.

I did not like Peter Capaldi as the Dr Fluffy but Jodie is quite good especially with how well written it is this time.

I am at my first Crisis Cafe by myself this evening. Should be interesting.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2020 09:38

I can see the sea on the drive to my new office so that's a positive Grin

dippyeggsandham · 25/02/2020 09:42

Sorry didn’t realise this was a chat thread, I will go onto the other threads, thank you @NoWordForFluffy

dippyeggsandham · 25/02/2020 10:28

I hope you don’t mind if I still chat though :)

MummySharn · 25/02/2020 10:49

Hiya, you’ve just popped up on my explore. I’m on the frugaleers thread so I know a couple of you. I love the holidays and am on a bit of a downer now it’s over, so I’d love to join you all in a chat x

EmrysAtticus · 25/02/2020 11:25

Our house is pretty much perfect, four bedrooms, three loos including a downstairs one, a flat garden and new so good efficiency etc. Only issue is the area we are in 😂 Looking forward to being more rural one day.

CrazyBaubles · 25/02/2020 13:26

Wecome dippy and sorry for your loss.
As long as you're happy to chat we're happy to have you!

Fluffy I'm happy to take on a doer upper as my dad is a tradesman who would fall over himself to help, it's just finding one that's livable (as we can't afford to pay a mortgage plus rent) and in the right area.

Love the cross stitch, you're so fast. I'm miles behind on mine, you're putting me to shame!

Wreck what a nightmare with the new office!

The house I grew up in was designed / built by my parents and it had an en-suite (for parents), family bathroom and a downstairs loo. Didn't appreciate it at the time but it definitely made life easier!

why what is Crisis Cafe?

Welcome mummysharn!

Emrys I am Envy at your house, it sounds ideal! Are you near the city centre now?

I am currently eating my homemade pasta bake while my colleagues are tucking into pancakes 🥞...

dippyeggsandham · 25/02/2020 13:31

Thank you for your condolences everyone it’s very sweet of you all.

I’m well jel of your house emrys I’m currently in a 2 bed with 1 bathroom, hoping to move to a 3 bed soon so my DS doesn’t have to share with his sisters, but a 2nd bathroom would be ideal. Our only bathroom comes off my bedroom so I’m always awoken by little people needing a wee in the night

NoWordForFluffy · 25/02/2020 13:39

My kids rarely (as in almost-never) need a wee at night. They were reliably dry for 12+ hours at night before they were dry during the day! 😂

Crazy, it's good that you have your dad, very helpful!

And I don't feel fast on the cross stitch. It's driving me slightly mad!

I'm also envious about Emrys' house. It sounds ideal. Xmas Envy

dippyeggsandham · 25/02/2020 13:45

Can we trade fluffy Grin DD2 is still in nappies but DD1 and DS are up probably twice in the night for a wee. I’ve tried everything, no drinks before bed and all that but they still wee😂. I suppose I’d rather that than them not waking up for a wee and having to change the bedding every morning.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2020 13:58

My dc don't get up for a wee either.

Just had eight deer run out in front of me including two stags Hmm

EmrysAtticus · 25/02/2020 15:22

What a horrible walk. Wind blowing hail straight into my face Sad

We are incredibly lucky with our house, we could only get it through shared ownership but we landed on our feet with it. Should be able to staircase to 100% in a few years too :)

Who is making pancakes today?

WreckTangled · 25/02/2020 15:58

Ds made pancakes at school and I have some ready made ones at home. I'm going to a friends tonight as it's her birthday plus we won't be home for a while as we're at the dentist 😭😭 and they're running late...

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 25/02/2020 16:02

I made pancakes yesterday because I am working till 23.00 tonight and 22.00 tomorrow night.
