Nine weeks to go, I reckon a full thread for November and maybe two for December ?

I have tomorrow booked off for Hallowe'en.
Got to get the decorations out (they're only out for one night and a bit more haphazard than the Christmas decorations)

DH is waiting some "Most Haunted" compilation on TV , (not seen Derek Acorah yet though)

I've just tidied the guinea-pigs cage and given them a nice new cosy cardboard box, they were tickled pink Grin

DD has her winter bedding put on 1st Nov , she's pestering to have it done tomorrow but DD It's October Xmas Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2018 20:30

Apparently Derek Acorah paid for someone's shopping in our local Tesco at some point! Not sure about the full story, but I thought it was nice of him.

70, it's 8 weeks to go as next Tuesday is 49 days! 10 threads sounds about right though. What did we get to last year?

CrazyBaubles · 30/10/2018 20:32

Fluffy thanks for the new thread - love the title!

Welcome Xmas this sounds like the perfect thread for you --and I hope you find your way on
to thread 8--

Wreck I started having migraines around 9/10 years old. I think it was associated with my hormones and they weren't diagnosed until I was around 16.

I hate Halloween too. I usually go to my mums so I don't have to answer the door (what's the Halloween version of a Bah Humbug)?

MrsMad I'm are you're very relieved about the shower room after all the work you did to get it organised.

How funny that we all know you as something different PSB/bath/philomena You'll always be PSB to me though.

70 your DD is a rebel wanting her winter bedding on early

I'm having a lovely relaxed evening enjoying a rum, a fire, some donuts and American tv (I can't get away with GBBO while DH is home).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/10/2018 20:46

Gawd yes 8 weeks , nine would be 63 Xmas Shock !

Fluffy I am glad to hear that story about The Acorah (I went to see his live tour and wondered if being in the USA would've changed him from his Liverpool roots. He's gone a bit glam and had dental+ dye but hopefully it hasn;t spoiled him)

WreckTangled · 30/10/2018 20:47

I got migraines as a teen too (and an adult!). I'm sure this is all to do with the virus though. He was very itchy tonight on his back, he's really suffered this past week!

Can't wait for tomorrow to be over (sorry 70!)

Heavystream · 30/10/2018 20:57

Hi all, the boys are in bed. I’ve just made some tea and toast and now am reading a baby name book. We’ve decided on so many names and every time we agree on one I’ve changed my mind. DH is fast asleep next to me so I’m guessing all the moving has tired him out!.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2018 21:05

I detest Halloween too. We never did it and neither did DH's family. We don't with our DC either.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 30/10/2018 21:25

I can't get my dc away from it. School has a pumpkin assembly and everyone in the village (not our village but the one where school is and therefore all their friends) goes trick or treating 🙄

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 21:38

I didn't mind who won GBBO tbh but the showstoppers were a bit pants l thought of course l can jump over their heads my cakes are a triumph fnar fnar
Thank you for the new thread Fluffy Smile
Heavy l thought it was going to be Albert (Bertie or Albie in my mind lol) Grin no pressure take no notice of me trying to force a name on you , have a good look before you make your mind up m'dear Grin
Thank you Crazy , l am so relieved it is such a worry trying to look after them and they fight me! They want to remain independent and cannot see the folly of the things they want to do ! rant over lol Grin
I am not keen on Halloween but only because l worry about the parents getting up to answer the door to the children
God l am like an obsessed parent over the newborn child except they are 88 and 86 lol Grin
Am going to watch Holby now have a great night sleep everyone Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2018 21:42

We ended up going through the ONS spreadsheet of boys' names before we settled on DS' name. I decided I didn't want Ewan any more (DD's boy's name) but DH couldn't find anything he liked. So I made us both mark names we liked on the spreadsheet!

OP posts:
Heavystream · 30/10/2018 21:46

So far he’s been Freddie, Alan, Albert and Edmund. But none of them seem right. I’m sure I’ll find the right one and I’ve got a while left.

Fluffy DH is called Ewan so your DH has great taste in names!.

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 21:46

I think that is a great idea Fluffy but l do love Ewan ,
‎Born of the Yew (Tree). l love the meaning of that too Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2018 21:51

I loved it when we chose it for DD. Then went off it for no real reason!

DS is Seth, which means appointed or placed. It's plummeted out of popularity, but that's fine by me!

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 21:52

Heavy , my all time favourite is RAIF l absolutely love it .
I was going to call DD1 because she was definitely a boy Hmm Raif Sebastian Hmm Grin on second thoughts ...NAH l don't think it goes somehow lol

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 30/10/2018 21:52

Hello! Halloween Grin

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 30/10/2018 21:57

I have a Euan Fluffy. Halloween Grin

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 22:01

Evening PSB! lovely name for your DS m'dear Smile

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 22:07

Seth is lovely too Fluffy, l really like it, very unusual .

FireflyGirl · 30/10/2018 22:13

I don't watch soaps or BB or BGT or XF or IACGMOOH or DOI or SCD or GBBO - can I still be your friend? Grin

Glad to hear your DS is feeling better, Wreck.

I'm not a big fan of Halloween - my mum thinks it's tantamount to begging, so we never went anywhere except my Nana's with our carved turnips and bin bag witches outfits!. We'll have some sweets and play some spooky games before bed, I think, but we won't be going out.

Heavy - There's a list thing here, where you choose the names you like out of, say, the top 100, hide them and then your partner chooses, and then it compares them. Basically the electronic version of Fluffy's idea

DH and I did it out of the top 500 - there were 2 we agreed on. Phoenix, because we'd watched Order of the Phoenix the night before, and Edward. DS is not called Edward Grin

How are your gas works coming along, MrsM? Re: Halloweeners at your parents, round here they don't knock unless you have a light on and decorations out. They could try not switching the outside lights on?

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 22:16

My DD1 said if she ever has a little girl then she wants to call her Trinity or Annie May. My DD2 said Charlotte and then call her Lottie which l love Grin
I am wondering what Harry & Meghans baby or babies if it is twins will be called because l have a feeling it is twins lol

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2018 22:20

Ahhh thank you Firefly that is a good idea l was going to camp outside their door lol love the name Phoenix too l love all these names they never had them when l was expecting my girls it was all very safe and boring!
The Gas man commeth today and it is all finished YAY!!
We are all so relieved it has all gone at last!

Heavystream · 30/10/2018 22:36

Firefly Thank you, will have a look. We’re both really in love with the name Moses at the minute. I think it’s so gorgeous, just don’t know if it’s too biblical.

Xmasfairy86 · 30/10/2018 22:56

I’m here crazy!

Tried the Tropic hair care tonight. AMAZING!

Xmasfairy86 · 30/10/2018 22:59

There’s a Phoenix in my youngests class. He’s a sweet boy!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/10/2018 00:09

55

Mrs we've had guinea-pigs called Trinity and Bert Grin (he's Herbert not Albert though , on a Sunday)

Heavy I'd go with Freddie (DS had a friend at 6th Form called Freddie , I asked DS is his Mum was a Queen fan....... DS was I dunno . Could've been Kreuger not Mercury Xmas Grin )

Enjoy Hallowe'en everyone who indulges Halloween Grin
