Morning! Autumn feel in the air today.

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/09/2018 07:59

Morning. I did DS's first train journey with him and I'm now on the train back home. He looks so smart - I'm glad I took a photo. No doubt he'll be bedraggled when he gets home 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 03/09/2018 08:01

Ah, how lovely, Woolly. I'm sure he'll be fine!

Morning! Dc have an inset day today but I'm back at work. It's going to be stressful as we're under fire from the council for not meeting our KPI's. Apparently doing that is more important than helping families in need Angry

Dh is taking he dc to air arena.

Ooo I booked a holiday yesterday for next summer. Still need to book flights but they're not out yet.

And need to start thinking about what clothes the dc need for Lapland. Dd needs a coat (it'll be a school one too), we all need socks and gloves and footwear. I know they provide boots but we will want our own for winter anyway. Also will we need decent hats? I suppose my one from accessorize won't be the best?

Redgreencoverplant · 03/09/2018 08:21

Morning :) Nothing to report here other than I am now in my last two weeks in my current job!

Nofilter · 03/09/2018 08:32

Hello Ladies!

Delurking. Inspired by TOMM to split down gifts to buy into XX weeks and have it all done by December 1st.

I'm looking for a fairly realistic farm for my DD, we live on a farm/equestrian property. She has the Breyer range (it's all quite realistic and scaled down.)

Found a few brands but wondered if anyone had seen anything on offer as will be her main gift.

TIA

Roystonv · 03/09/2018 08:38

Dr-lurking to say there is a Christmas bargain thread too who might be able to help, meanwhile a wave to everyone, thanks for all the chat and best wishes to all.

Roystonv · 03/09/2018 08:39

Sorry that suggestion was to help nofilter

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/09/2018 08:59

Just labelled uniform. Not much as I do a wash every day and DD still has both jumpers and DS2 still has 1 and fits into his PE t-shirt. Only 14 items. I labelled DD's tankini and put it in her swimming bag when I bought it. 😆

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/09/2018 09:10

A train Woolly! Shock DD will only have a 14 minute bus journey next year, or an 8 minute walk, depending on which school she gets into. The nicer school is the bus journey. 😭

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/09/2018 10:05

Its one stop on the train Phil and then a short bus ride. A very lovely older girl was showing him the ropes and has reassured me that she will round him up at the end of the day and deliver him safely back to our home station.

BiddyPop · 03/09/2018 11:53

Well, my review wasn't too bad - as the coach failed to show! Ah well, I was kinda bricking it about how others really see me, so a bit of a relief.

Labelling uniform is such a painful job. DH got iron-on labels a few years ago, so now it's his job as he does all the household ironing (he couldn't feed the baby when DD was born, so took over my ironing instead, he was already doing his own). But I do empathise with him every year, which included fixing a G&T to help this year!

Good luck to all the DCs heading out on new adventures!

And welcome to all the Newbies.

HairsprayBabe · 03/09/2018 12:01

Hi all!

Hope you are all well!

Sorry I dropped off AGAIN - I have been terrible this year!

I have BIG news - we got engaged in New York! Last week planning on getting hitched in October next year- so this will me my last Christmas as a Miss!

AnotherShirtRuined · 03/09/2018 12:06

Congratulations Hairspray!

Crazy I googled and pinterested to get ideas for the washing line. It was a lot of fun to do as I'm not used to 'freestyling'. And the DCs love it Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/09/2018 12:12

Woooo! Congratulations, Hairspray.

I'm an October bride. We had lovely weather and rosehips / herbs in my bouquet as a nod to the season.

I lost you all. I was busy reading about people debating the cost of going to the cinema.

BiddyPop · 03/09/2018 13:03

Congratulations Hairspray!

whispers - who is going to break first and mutter about thread babies for 2020 to Hairspray!! Xmas Grin

FurForksSake · 03/09/2018 13:05

Congrats Hairspray!!! I wondered where you were :)

Seafoodeatit · 03/09/2018 13:06

Congratulations Hairspray! Autumn is the best time to get married! (slightly biased as I got married in September)

Redgreencoverplant · 03/09/2018 13:08

October weddings are lovely but surely a Christmas wedding is in order?!

Heavystream · 03/09/2018 13:52

Gosh! That thread filled up quick!.

Got pre first-day jitters today, having a special tea for Arthur and then an early night.

We finally picked out a girls name but still have no boys names left!. Finally feel as if I’m really pregnant though!.

Just brought myself a lovely new winter coat for the school run.

We’ve started growing veg since we moved in and are hoping to use some for our Christmas dinner. I can’t wait until it starts getting more autumnal!.

heavy home grown veg is the best :) are you finding what you're having? we've got names picked out but not finding out the sex this time.

Thread title makes me feel like a bit of a fraud, apart from bake off and later the apprentice I don't watch contest shows. Blush
