DS2 is actually wearing a tie, it's obscured by Bear! 😂

Countdown to Christmas: the Strictly Come Dancing official countdown has begun edition! Thread 6.
PhilomenaButterfly · 05/09/2018 10:08

Dropped DS2 off, DD went by herself, paid dinner money for both of them, wrote a note giving DD permission to walk home by herself, having toasted banana bread and a banana today. 😋🍌🍞🍌

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/09/2018 10:13

NoMrs, not a chicken lasagne this time, just a boring old beef one! 😂

DD's booklet was a Mayan myth about a hummingbird, it was just an excuse to draw birds I think! 😂

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/09/2018 10:19

Oh Seafood, your poor DS! I'm sure he'll be fine now! All DS2's class, also year 3, were comparing their ties! First time they've had to wear them! 😂 A year 2 boy was saying, "I haven't got a tie, I'm in 2!" 😂

BiddyPop · 05/09/2018 10:23

Stationary shopping - when you are en route to work and today's list is those 4-in-1 coloured pens and a project book, yesterday was 3 more hardbacks, and we'd already been as a family twice!! - is not really fun. But at least the local stationers all know me now! Grin

The stove is a plain insert into the old open fireplace, so dark metal surround and a glass door. But it pumps out the heat compared to the open fire! We mostly use wood in it and a small bit of turf.

I hope your DS enjoys Y3 Seafood, once he gets in and settled (and he'd have to make all new friends if he stayed in Y2!).

Philomena your DS looks so cute! I hope they both enjoy their day too.

Fluffy well done on getting back to fitness - I keep intending to go swimming again and something always interferes. (Usually sleep as its so early or late to go).

I really need to stop procrastinating today - and finish reading a legal submission that I started on Monday -its just so dense.....but I will get it done.

The professional carpet cleaner has been to deal with our post potty training carpet and my gosh it looks magnificent.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2018 13:28

We need that, Red. Must look into it!

Seafoodeatit · 05/09/2018 13:33

Thank you everyone :) hopefully he'll be in a good mood at pick up time, it feels like it's been months not weeks since I've not had to do the school run, double buggy + bus = booooo!

philomena That's so cute they're comparing ties! no ties here, makes a bit sad as I had them at primary school - we had ties in infant school but they were the ready made on elastic string type! It was seen as a big deal to move onto a real tie so I can understand their excitement! Grin

biddy They probably think here comes the lady who loves stationary! Your stove sounds lovely, I've heard they're really recommended as they're much better at heat efficiency then an open fire. Our fireplace is just a gas one but if we'd stayed here I would have loved to restore it to a normal one.

redgreen That sounds brilliant! how much did you pay? sorry for being nosy! we'll need to get our carpet cleaned for that exact reason although we're still halfway through potty training. Wine

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2018 13:39

We only go to ties in Year 2, it's polo shirts up to then.

Do you live a long way from school, Seafood? That's an epic trip! I'm sure today will go well. 😁

Redgreencoverplant · 05/09/2018 13:43

It was £40 for a good sized sitting room seafood but that was because it was badly stained. Less staining would have been £30. It has got everything up though so well worth it in my opinion. It's like having a new carpet!

FurForksSake · 05/09/2018 14:37

I think ours only have shirt and tie in year 6, where their uniform is a different colour! You should see the pride when they get to wear their black jumpers.

I've just done a lunch time dash to the post office, to do some returns at asda, a trolley dash at asda and went to ikea and bought a new kitchen chair. Door to door in 80 minutes. Feel rather pleased with myself. DH has taken two days off work to play games so left Gabe in bed and zoomed off.

We are in the frustrating point of trying to teach G to pedal, he can make a bike go but he gets half way through a pedal and resets and goes again so isn't doing a full rotation. He is flying on his balance bike and zooms about with his legs out straight. He's getting a big boy bike on Saturday and gah, I can't work out how to explain to him how to pedal!

I really need to clean my carpets and the sofa cover in the playroom. Might suggest to DH we do it tomorrow and Friday night (we move half the furniture, wash the carpets and then move back in the morning and then do the second end the next night) ahead of family coming over on Saturday. They always look so good once it is done.

WreckTangled · 05/09/2018 15:58

No ties here until they go to secondary school. We don't have infants and juniors either. All the schools round here are pretty small.

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/09/2018 16:14

DM came, we had lunch in the Sainsbury's café, we both had beef bourgignon pies, mash, peas and gravy, the DC are at Adventure. 😋

Heavystream · 05/09/2018 18:20

Hi all! I’m absolutely knackered, been up every morning at 6 with the boys. Arthur’s settler in great at school, and we have a short list of boys names for the baby. So very exciting!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2018 18:21

Sounds like a good few days, bar the early wakings, Heavy!

Heavystream · 05/09/2018 20:35

Thank you all! Very happy he’s settled. He’s been given a book and some spellings to do, so we’ve spent the evening reading them. They’re all tucked up in bed now. Can’t believe there’s gonna be another one here soon!. It’s been lovely spending more time with just John and Lorcan. Very excited for Christmas now, really loving the cold weather

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/09/2018 22:21

DD walked home on her own, picked DS2 up, he was in bed by 8, DD was in bed by 8.30, did wash as soon as the DC were in their pyjamas, had chicken tikka masala for supper, hung washing out, in bed now.

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/09/2018 06:01

Morning! Drinking coffee, waiting for BBC breakfast news and Carol the weather to come on. Brew

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2018 06:49

Morning! We're rattling towards double figures now. Exciting!

It's start of school for DS today! He's so excited about it. We filled in sheets telling school what he's like last night. It's funny trying to tell other people his quirks!

Then it's allotment time. Lots of digging and planting to do today. I've got almost 500 spring flowering bulbs to put in the ground!

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 07:25

Last working day of the week for me (and fluffy?) have an all day meeting to go too.

WreckTangled · 06/09/2018 07:25

To not too!

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2018 07:32

Ahhh. My bloody shoulder is rubbish, Mrs. The painkillers take the edge off though and I'm sleeping better with the amitriptyline. Work are looking into an OH referral for me as it hurts to use my mouse and keyboard.

Wreck, it was a 3 day week for me this week due to DS starting school. Proper week next week!
