The kidizoom camera is on my list for DD but they don't deliver under £40 it says, can't decide whether to spend the £40 or leave it & hope it's on offer elsewhere.

PastaBeeandCheese · 05/10/2013 21:34

Kiddizoom camera says 3+. Is it really any good for a 3 year old? Thinking of my niece who is 3 in January.

Pumpkintopf · 05/10/2013 21:36

Theonlyoneiknow I've been looking at the Hudl too - it gets good reviews, not as good as the nexus but then its a lot cheaper. Its screen is generally judged better than the kindle's.

Its £119 BUT if you have clubcard points you can double them up to get it for £60!!! BARGAIN!

I had a look at one in store today - they only had the blue and black in stock, not sure if they have the other colours online.

You do need to be aware there is discreet Tesco branding on the back, and a Tesco button that can't be removed - in that way, its similar to the kindle - this of course may not be a problem if the recipient shops online with Tesco, could be quite handy.

GiraffesMum · 05/10/2013 21:39

ipanicked have pm'd you a code.

BeaWheesht · 05/10/2013 21:40

Weve just bought the Hudl and it looks great so far. We paid £79.99 after doubling up £20 of cc vouchers. Its for ds but Ive had a shot on it to get used to it as I need to set up parental controls and passwords and stuff and also Im getting one too and I am really impressed with it so far, very user friendly.

Pumpkintopf · 05/10/2013 21:41

Whatnameshallibetoday twas me looking for glasses Smile thanks for tkmaxx suggestion, will go have a look.

I loved the snofint ones Scarer suggested - but I can't order them online and my nearest ikea is a couple of hours away so may have to rethink.

Chockywockydoodah · 05/10/2013 21:45

Pasta the Kiddizoom camera really starts to come into its own (in my opinion) at around 3.5 yrs and even then, there are so many more features on it to explore so I reckon it's a toy with longevity. It even takes ME a while to navigate around the various functionalities! Blush

mum2jakie · 05/10/2013 21:47

Damn! Just spent ages registering and 'shopping' at Ocado to get up to an amount to use a code and at checkout I get told that the Kidizoom camera is out of stock! Too slow...

Thanks to the op though.

PastaBeeandCheese · 05/10/2013 21:52

Thanks chocky but it's showing out of stock for me too now Sad. Feel bitter about it as Ocado are my supermarket so get their regular pound of flesh from me. Felt I deserved a bargain Christmas gift!

Maiyakat · 05/10/2013 21:54

Can't believe it - went onto Ocado to get the half price Kiddizoom camera, and by the time I finished shopping it was out of stock Shock

ipanicked · 05/10/2013 21:56

GiraffesMum ThanksThanksThanks thank you!!

Pinebarrens · 05/10/2013 21:57

Phew, these threads are moving too fast!

Thanks Reastie!

I just ordered the eBay pjs thankfully in a bigger size, thanks h2o they look lovely

We got the Kiddizoom camera for DD last year she was 3.5 and has played with it all year, she wanders round taking random photos of stuff, lots of games etc on it too. I watched it on Amazon last year and it actually went cheaper than Ocado (who don't actually deliver to where I live) think I got it around November last year. Check it out on CamelCamelCamel.

Maiyakat · 05/10/2013 21:59

X-post - was too gutted to read other posts! Wink

SilkySocksSinkShips · 05/10/2013 22:01

Regarding the ISME problem some seem to be having...

I registered after filling basket. Once I did that and went to checkout it asked to pay in full via debit/card. This DOES NOT give you the £30 off. The other option was to sign up to a credit account. I did this but I think it then does a credit check so takes a while. (During this process, your basket stays full)

I left it for last night and logged on today. Went straight to checkout with my items (worth £62) and put in the 3UPVQ code. It then said order complete and in my account summary it came up with

'Date - £30 payment received thank you'

I then clicked 'Make a Payment' and via debit card, played off the remaining balance.

Back in account summary it also said

'Date - £32 payment received thank you'

So, whole balance paid but it only cost £32 because the code acted as a payment to ISME. Long winded!

PoppyWearer · 05/10/2013 22:02

Sorry for all who missed out on the camera Sad. I'm worried that I'll get an email on the day to say it's out of stock. But I have also ordered some bargainous San Leo Prosecco at £5-something a bottle (half price) to add to my Christmas stash so it won't be a dead loss I suppose. That Prosecco is lush. Normal price is £10+ a bottle although it's often on offer at £6+, not seen it this cheap for a while.

Really want the camera to add to the £20 Smyths Innotab I got for my 5yo DD. I reckon the two together will make an amaaaaazing "main" present for her. Her school homework seems to be demanding quite a lot of photos, so this way she can take and edit them herself?!

If anyone sees a good deal on a printer, please shout!

itsonlysubterfuge · 05/10/2013 22:04

Spoiler Alert

My Box of Awesome 4 had: a Halo figurine, a pack of Aces Laces, Elemons Card Game, Soccer Suckers football figure, Trash Pack Stickers, and Force Attax: Star Wars trading card game pack. I'm pretty sure this was all, I may be forgetting something. It was all very fun and exciting. I hope those of you who receive them enjoy them as well Grin and actually have children that can enjoy them.

mousebacon · 05/10/2013 22:12

Thanks again for all the tips Smile

My awol letterbox item turned up yesterday via Yodel. I've also ordered the horrible histories pen and some pirate thingys for DS1.

trixymalixy · 05/10/2013 22:18

Reastie Thanks for this thread and the last!

supermariossister and/or itsonlysubterfuge how big are those brooches in reality? I like the look of them, thinking of getting some if they're not too dinky.

Please can someone remind me of the Traidcraft offer/code can't remember whether it was for free delivery or % off. Thanks

For those intending to buy wine as a gift Home Bargain had round wine boxes this shape covered with really pretty christmassy designs and which looked good quality for under a £1 if I remember correctly.

They also had Mr Tumble chocolates for 49p and marshmallow snowmen, father christmas, and christmas trees on a stick also for 49p which I bought for the DC's stockings now as I'm terrible at remembering to pick up things like this last minute.
