From Robotgate to Vertbaudetgate, it’s the Christmas bargain thread

girlwiththeyellowhats do we have any news yet? <impatient>

Fifth thread already, how did that happen?! I’ve booked our panto tickets now so am feeling very festive grin . Tips I learnt from the last thread number 24837 - wrap a huge cardboard box in christmas gift wrap to put all the rubbish on christmas day in rather than a bin bag so you don’t get a black plastic sack in all of the photos

Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous grin

I put this on the Xmas hamper thread but if you google the Christmas emporium it's a all year Xmas shop that sells baubles and can personalise them. We bought 1 for our ds last year from the shop.

RhondaJean Mon 02-Sep-13 21:13:06

Reastie Mon 02-Sep-13 21:24:59

erm, ask me again in a few weeks iloveholidays I love it really grin

Just thought I'd close out the last thread!

No news, hope I don't see another thread filled up whilst still brewing this baby

Slainte Mon 02-Sep-13 21:28:56

We're flying through these threads. How many do you think we'll get to by Christmas?!

Thanks again Reastie smile

Slainte Mon 02-Sep-13 21:30:40

Oh girlwith you've still got a bit to go so you never know!! The countdown must be hard, I never got there as was induced early.

WaitMonkey Mon 02-Sep-13 21:32:34

grin at the title.

I picked up a Lego friends pet parlour set in Tesco this morning. Only £7.50, still marked up on the shelf as £30. so probably a miss price. £22.20 on Amazon. Worth checking out if your going to Tesco.

Neeko Mon 02-Sep-13 21:33:03

Wow Reastie. Another epic post. You ladies are so good at these bargains though I'm struggling to keep up with you all. Have just ordered some of those lovely mugs for myself and my coffee switching colleagues.
Don't have anything to add for bargains though I'm keeping my eyes peeled.
Thanks again all.

Leilandri Mon 02-Sep-13 21:38:03

flowers Reastie Thread 5 already! grin

WaitMonkey Mon 02-Sep-13 21:40:41

Girl when are you due ? Is it your first ? A Christmas bargain thread baby. So exciting.

ilove have you heard from Vetbaudet again yet ?

Oreocrumbs Mon 02-Sep-13 21:43:08

Many thanks and much cake again Reastie!

I know on the last thread I linked to the princess nighties in Argos and Poppy posted about the Thomas set, but I've had another look and there are quite a few more bargains on there.

Several sets of slippers for £1.99, there is a peppa pig version of the £10 Thomas set, some peppa pig slipper boots for £5 that I've reserved for DD, and other reduced nightwear. Worth a little look.

Thanks Reastie

paperclipsarebetterthanstaples Mon 02-Sep-13 21:50:59

Thanks for all the work you've put in again Reastie cake

Vertbaudet sent me a wooden pull along train to replace the bag (i emailed before I received the bag but tbh didn't think it was that bad for a freebie). The train is fab!

iloveholidays Mon 02-Sep-13 21:52:58

Thanks for the 10% off at Book People (NBACK). I'd been umming over whether to buy the 20 classic collection books so decided to go for it. £18 for 20 books is pretty good going. MUST NOT BUY ANY MORE BOOKS!!!!

WaitMonkey. I gave up with vertbaudet, they were not budging at all, said they couldn't discuss other customers blah blah blah. I will not be shopping with them again. Also posted a comment on their Facebook page. I'm really tempted to return my items, but bought a cute outfit for my new nephew and a lovely dress for DD (which she doesn't need).

LaTrucha Mon 02-Sep-13 21:55:09

Thanks reastie!

GeekInThePink Mon 02-Sep-13 21:55:47

Hello! Sending you labour vibes girls

Love those magpie mugs...darn it doing mugs last year!

If anyone sees any Emma Bridgewater can they let me know please?

cake and brew for all

God I feel quite schizophrenic, on the one hand looking resolutely away from talk of Christmas Eve hot choc and baileys ( but easily imaging some kind of wunder Christmas )and on the other hand celebrating the end of the summer holidays.
I need to be careful tho', I lose my job on Christmas Eve (really) so I may obsess with making this Christmas too perfect as a distraction.
Thanks to reastie as always for the summation.

GeekInThePink Mon 02-Sep-13 21:56:26

I mean [cake ] and brew obviously! blush

GeekInThePink Mon 02-Sep-13 21:56:38

I give up cake

joymaker Mon 02-Sep-13 21:57:34

Reastie cake thanks

Leilandri thanks for the link to those advent candles on the Ace website, either of them would have fitted the bill nicely, the postage to me though would be an eye watering £5.99 unfortunately

GeekInThePink Mon 02-Sep-13 21:57:36

Thanks reastie <<quietly leaves and goes to bed>>

I returned my Vertbaudet items. Didn't like the pink t-shirt for DD. The sportsbag was ugly. I did get the toolbox in another order, which I paid nothing for at all, as they sent it on its own and canceled the item I ordered.

Leilandri Mon 02-Sep-13 22:03:12

joymaker Ace is the same as Studio, I believe. I recieve the Ace catalogue, my Dmum recieves the Studio one and they are identical. Apparently code 032 works with studio for free delivery? Worth a search ... I recieved my candle today (chose the tall white one) and it is lovely. Going in my 1st December hamper that accompanies our Elfs arrival grin

joymaker Mon 02-Sep-13 22:03:27

LEGO Friends Readers - 4 Books £4.99 at the Book People and cheaper still with the new 10% off code posted in OP

PoppyWearer Mon 02-Sep-13 22:05:58

Thank you reastie thanksthanksthanksthanksthanksthanks

iloveholidays I bought that Book People Classic Collection for my DD a while back and she loves them!

joymaker Mon 02-Sep-13 22:07:35

Leilandri thanks for the tip wink

iloveholidays Mon 02-Sep-13 22:13:38

Great, thanks Poppy. I know DD1 will love them, it's just we have so many books I'd been putting it off grin

kiwidreamer Mon 02-Sep-13 22:15:24

Loving ths years bargain threads, thanks Reastie! Ive reserved a £9.99 designafriend doll for DD's Xmas, thanks to person who posted in last gasps of previous thread smile

I tried my luck with Vertbaudet too, god that sports bag was vile and I ended up with 3 from 2 orders when they said they wouldn't send a second bag and would replace with a CARS beach towel, I phoned back today as got bag with second order no towel and got crappy bollocks from their CS saying towel now out of stock so would more than likely have crap sports bag number 3 on its way booooooo will return at max expense to Vertbaudet!!

WaitMonkey Mon 02-Sep-13 22:18:12

ilove I don't understand how they have gotten away with treating people so differently. I won't be using them again. sad

itsonlysubterfuge Mon 02-Sep-13 22:19:52

Thanks for thread number 5!

WithConfidence Mon 02-Sep-13 22:20:44

Sorry kiwi but the three sportsbags has made me laugh.

DTisMYdoctor Mon 02-Sep-13 22:24:12

I've just seen someone post on another thread that the playmobil pyramid is £39.99 at toys r us - good price for this I think.

NigellaEllaElla Mon 02-Sep-13 22:25:26

Thanks Reastie thanks

Thanks Reastie
My book people order arrived today with Lego readers and the captain Flynn series as presents.

I want to know NOW who my Secret Santa is so that I can buy a mug

Littlemousewithcloggson Mon 02-Sep-13 22:35:27

Yay, another thread, thank you reastie

Smyths toys have the imaginext T. rex for £25 instead of £40. Amazon cheapest is £35 including postage so it's quite a bit cheaper.

Freemilk Mon 02-Sep-13 22:41:26

Was in B&M today got a Lego ninjago set from over 7 pounds to 3.99 it was small but not a super common one since my dc didn't have it already sorry can't tell you which it is in the boot!
They also had a little disney doll (the one with the dress you clip on) for 2.99 Cinderella, Snow White Ariel, etc
asda had the new Disney mermaid DVD for £10 (not sure if that is good or not)

Freemilk Mon 02-Sep-13 22:42:18

Oh and when I looked last night you could get the Christmas finger puppets for 1.51 on eBay.

Freemilk Mon 02-Sep-13 22:43:20

Still resisting the magpie mugs but only just!

ProtectiveMother Mon 02-Sep-13 22:46:01

Thanks for this. I need boys (and maybe girls) towel dressing gowns. Pref not character ones. They change their minds about what character they like and then refuse to wear :-)

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Mon 02-Sep-13 22:54:29

Another bargain book, everyone

Only £1.99 + £2.80 delivery so only £4.79 all in. Going for around £10-£14 elsewhere.

Lovely hardback Disney Fairies Ultimate Guide.

Oh god, I've bought dd around 15 books for Christmas (and that's counting the 'collections' as just one book.) blush. Luckily it's her birthday 2 weeks afterwards, so I suppose I can split them.

IJustNeedANap Mon 02-Sep-13 22:57:49

5th thread already . WOW. We are doing well! Thanks Reastie thanks

I've seriously over spent these last few weeks so all the good bargins need to wait a week before I can buy them sad

shock when did MN get cake ??

JaquelineHyde Mon 02-Sep-13 23:06:28

Bloody hell 5th one already! I missed the entire 4th thread as I have no money thanks to the bloody school uniform shop angry

Hopefully I can start buying in the next week or so, but I suspect we shall be on thread 9 or 10 by then grin

Slainte Mon 02-Sep-13 23:06:50

Thanks Ewe just ordered the fairy book. smile

Trazzletoes Mon 02-Sep-13 23:08:47

Reastie you're fabulouys thanks

VoldemortsNipple Mon 02-Sep-13 23:09:16

Thanks for the new thread Reastie smile

I was in home bargains today and they had loads of Angry Birds toys in stock. DN had one of these sets last year and loved it. You get blocks to build towers and then have to knock them down.

They also had a pink cosy coupè for £40 but I can't see it on the website.

Trazzletoes Mon 02-Sep-13 23:09:37

Argos have an Octonauts Gup-A play tent at half price - £9.99

blondieminx Mon 02-Sep-13 23:09:46

fabulous, obvs. That sounded like I was from Birmingham for a minute there! grin

skyeskyeskye Mon 02-Sep-13 23:12:55

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest Mon 02-Sep-13 23:55:09

Hardback Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator 2.69 (RRP 12.99). smile Plan on giving this to dd alongside her pop-up Charlie. Cheapest I've seen the Glass Elevator so far; currently going for £9.09 on Amazon, so a great price.

Fairy Unicorn Riding Stables Pop up book 2.69 RRP 14.99 Looks really good and looks like it can be used as a play set too. There's a picture of it open here on Amazon for a better look.

Peter Pan Pop up and Sound book 4.04 (RRP 14.99) from the Book People too.

I used 'THANKS' for free delivery from the Book People. And 'NBACK' for 10% off (the prices shown above are including this 10% off) - Thanks for these!

Pop up Alice in Wonderland Book 4.99 (RRP 14.99) from The Works

Might be worth holding out for a free delivery code though if not buying any additional items from The Works. DEL10 gets you free delivery when you spend £10 or over. Just missed out on a 20% off offer which expired at midnight. angry

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Tue 03-Sep-13 01:41:51

The Works - Disney TinkerBell How to draw Fairies only 2.49 (RRP 9.99)

Use DEL10 for free delivery on orders over £10

And this looks wonderful. "The ultimate must-own Barbie DVD Collection. 19 titles compiled in a jewellery box ? every little girl?s dream come true!" 39.20 (RRP 99.99)

The DVDs normally go for around £4-£5 each, so 19 for £39.20 is very much a bargain indeed.

(Feel the need to point out I'm not up this late because of my bargain hunting. Waiting up on a phone call and trying to kill time and stop myself falling asleep ) grin

onetiredmummy Tue 03-Sep-13 06:54:05

I could be the only one excited about this, but I've been looking for the Playmobil Ancient Egyptian pyramid for most of the year for DS2 this Christmas. There's 2nd hand ones on ebay but always with stuff missing & over £35 + shipping whilst the new ones range from £55-£80.

I've just found it on Toys R Us for £40 with free delivery & wanted to share in case anyone else was looking smile

Discount code is Grizzlies and there's also free postage if your order is over £30 (saving £4.95.....I think).

BornToFolk Tue 03-Sep-13 08:26:02

Oooh, I got DS one of those Arm and Hammer toothbrushes for his stocking last year - great value for £1!

Marking my place. I've got lots of 1 year olds to buy for this year as there was a bit of a baby boom in 2012 - any ideas gratefully received!

Anther thread already! Thanks OP (shameless place mark here!)

98percentchocolate Tue 03-Sep-13 08:38:46

Ooh barbeasty where were the Xmas books from? Sounds perfect for my Xmas book tree!

I heard a rumour that tesco have lower prices on the in store toys than marked on shelf. Discounts not appearing on website either so worth a look!

Theonlyoneiknow Tue 03-Sep-13 08:39:45

Thanks Reastie.!!

RockySpeed Tue 03-Sep-13 08:50:09

I've been making friends jealous with how organised for Christmas this year. I've a good excuse though (not that we need an excuse of course!) dc2 is due in 6 weeks grin

RockySpeed Tue 03-Sep-13 08:51:33

Apologies, that last message didn't make total sense! Sure you got the gist..

BuffyFairy Tue 03-Sep-13 08:57:00

Thanks Reastie thanks

Must not buy any more books.

DangerousMouse Tue 03-Sep-13 09:01:39

Can anyone help me finding the best deal for an ipod touch? My DD wants one for christmas, I think it's a 4th gen we are after. Does amazon tend to be competitive on things like this?

Littlemousewithcloggson Tue 03-Sep-13 09:06:54

For the last 3 years tesco has had a toy sale around this date, up to 80% off. Usually all gone in a morning and some fantastic bargains. Usually held within a few days of kids going back to school. Worth keeping an eye out for

ecofreckle Tue 03-Sep-13 09:15:02

Hello from a lurker who never finds anything exciting to share but has purchased lots of things suggested: thank you!
I am not sure it qualifies as a mega bargain but I got these Eric Carle first books for baby sets for a few babies I know at £3: baby books
Also, anyone have their Magpie mugs delivered yet - are they ok?
I'll keep endeavouring to find somethng useful to contribute (am going into city later today)

Barbeasty Tue 03-Sep-13 09:21:38

98percent here are the books, taken from a link on the last thread.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Tue 03-Sep-13 09:35:23

I have also discovered to track Amazon prices for the past year thanks to these threads. Very interesting to see patterns and what month prices usually increase/decrease, and what might be worth holding out for.

Just a warning, that Tinkerbell Draw book has now gone up to £5 from £2.49 at The Works since the early hours of this morning. Very sneaky.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum Tue 03-Sep-13 09:40:02

Oh 5th thread already.

CatAmongThePigeons Tue 03-Sep-13 10:00:40

I've been lurking on these threads & have picked up a few bargains along the way - cath kidston bracelet, fitness mag subscription, celia birtwell scarves from uniqlo, book bundles from whsmith to name a few. Also eyeing up the magpie site, but need to wait for the 'a' cup to come back in stock.

Does anyone know of the best place to buy a Micro 2 wheeler scooter, the aluminium ones? have checked jojo to see if I can use the code in the op but I think they only do the micro scooters.

I will keep my eyes open for bargains and post any I see.

Now have to focus on the grown ups gifts.

GaryBuseysTeeth Tue 03-Sep-13 12:05:59

Ds1 turns 2 just before Christmas, aside from Happyland stuff (which I've been putting away since last year) what else would you get a 2yr old that's also safe to play with around a 4 month old (ds2 is 5wks)?
Wooden kitchen?

Thanks to this thread I've no more toys to buy but need ideas/bargains for 10 yo dd. Also, if anyone spots any good laptop deals I'd be forever grateful.

craigslittleangel Tue 03-Sep-13 12:44:29

The Silver Cross children's pram arrived this morning at nanas. Apparently it looks great. My mum is very pleased to have got it for £20. Thanks again for those who posted about that Amazon flash sale.

jamtoast12 Tue 03-Sep-13 13:00:05

Shopping officially started! Thought I'd start on the Xmas stockings (literally what goes in their hung up stocking..not their extra stocking fillers iyswim?)

Pack of 3 heart shape post it stickers 35p wilkinsons
Cupcake shape lip gloss £1 in primark
Crayons twist crayons and felt tips half price in sainsburys £1.50

And my personal best so far....
Pink "Magnetic" heart shape earrings (magnetic earrings!!!!, who knew! why have I never heard of these!!!, dds aged 8&6 will love them. smile £3.50 from Claire's accessorise for on 3 for 2.

On I'm on a roll but trying to think before I buy this year instead of being blinded by bargains!

jamtoast12 Tue 03-Sep-13 13:03:30

Tried to link earrings but the ones i got aren't on their site...i did see these though...

Not in the sale I know but so cute...will have to get mine them!

JustBecauseICan Tue 03-Sep-13 13:07:20

couch- I would wait until about 10 days before Christmas for laptops and Big Electronic Things. Places like John Lewis tend to go discount bonkers in the immediate runup. Got dd's Toshiba satellite for just over £200 in the first week of December last year. It had been £350 in November.

skyeskyeskye Tue 03-Sep-13 13:34:31

I found some great bargains in Poundland in Minehead, not sure if it is the same store to store? The Carrie Diaries novel, Katie Price novel, both hardbacks, Rimmell and Maybelline makeup, and a Waybaloo set of 1 toothbrush and 2 tubes of toothpaste all costing £1 obviously

Great stocking fillers or for making up a parcel

FriskyHenderson Tue 03-Sep-13 13:35:27

I went to M&S this morning but couldn't find anything in the sale - I was looking for the bargain cashmere PJs sad But came home to yet more Amazon parcels grin

Anyone else waiting for the Club Penguin book?

Pinebarrens Tue 03-Sep-13 13:38:49

marking my place..again...thanks reastie

jamtoast12 Tue 03-Sep-13 13:39:18

Anyone seen any monster high tattoo sheets or stickers? Amzon have then for £1.50 per sheets but wandered if they are cheaper as the sheets only have about 10 on. I've tried home bargains etc

Mainly marking my place but has anyone seen any Xmas pyjamas about? I mean pyjamas in Xmas fabric rather than just normal pj's. I always get the kids some (usually from Primark) and wondered if anyone had seen any in stock in any shops yet?

98percentchocolate Tue 03-Sep-13 14:25:45

Thank you for the advent books!

ilove this is what I'm aiming for in DD's room: tree

iloveholidays Tue 03-Sep-13 14:28:02

Any fans of the IT Crowd. Series 1-4 only £8...

[ here]

iloveholidays I've just realised that the 1st December is a sunday, so I'm planning a festive day - not that I'm getting carried away - oh no!! Just ordered a couple of Xmas DVDs from amazon - the nativity and miracle on 34th street - used but like new for less than £3 delivered, so I'm going to put them in the hamper along with some craft and baking things - has anyone found cheap christmas cookie cutters?

iloveholidays Tue 03-Sep-13 14:29:35

98 wow, don't think I'd even try to attempt that smile

iloveholidays Tue 03-Sep-13 14:30:15

Will try again

IT Crowd series 1-4 8

iloveholidays Tue 03-Sep-13 14:37:28

working sounds like me smile we've already booked in the in-laws for 1st to help do the decorations. smile

I bought a cookie set from the works last year. It had some cutter, a mini rolling pin, decorating set and a recipe book. Think it was £2.99.

iloveholidays Tue 03-Sep-13 14:39:51

Sounds perfect iloveholidays hopefully they'll have similar this year.

God I can't keep up now I'm back at work!!

coveredinweetabix Tue 03-Sep-13 14:50:18

For those who've bought too many books, my tip would be to give a couple for Xmas and birthdays and save the rest to bring out throughout the year. DD gets a new book from the cupboard each month and then will get extra ones if we're going on holiday, on a long car journey, she's a bit under the weather etc. They also make a good emergency present when you suddenly realise that you've forgotten a child's birthday.
I'm also planning a full on festive day on 1st December. Tree purchasing followed by trip to coffee shop or restaurant (a rare treat for DD but something she loves), biscuit making, paper chain making etc

MooseyMoo Tue 03-Sep-13 14:50:18

For those doing fragrance samples for advent calendar, you can request sample of Gucci Guilty for free

Theonlyoneiknow Tue 03-Sep-13 15:08:30

I got some Xmas shaped cookie cutters in Ikea last year

patchesmcp Tue 03-Sep-13 15:10:10

Just wanted to join in and say thanks for all the bargains. I've been lurking for ages and thought it was about time I posted to say thank you.

Also wanted to say Amazon have a paperback version of The Night Before Christmas down to £2.05 which is the lowest it's been I think. RRP is £6.99 and it's free delivery.

Link is here

That's the first time I've done a link so hope it works!

ShoopShoop Tue 03-Sep-13 15:27:46

Oooh - mugs have arrived here smile. I'm really pleased with them. They're not totally perfect - some small flecks on the transfers but it doesn't detract from them at all. They're really quirky - I hope everyone else is pleased with theirs. thanks to whoever provided the original link.

Oh and I'm really sorry the letter A is now out of stock.....all 3 of my BIL's names begin with A grin blush

Good grief I look away and there's over 100 messages!

Thanks whoever recommended the Morph set - came today and is great.

pickofthepops Tue 03-Sep-13 15:47:34

Ilikeaweetpeas the pop up version is not the full text of the paperback but a long story nonetheless, more than just picture book length.

CoffeeOne Tue 03-Sep-13 15:55:56

Ooh glad you like the morph set, that was my first recommendation and I was all worried haha!

Bought the night before christmas book patches thanks it looks lovely.

ilikesweetpeas Tue 03-Sep-13 16:00:14

Thanks pickofthepops- it looks lovely so think I will order!

Theonlyoneiknow Tue 03-Sep-13 16:01:04

NBACK gives 10% off at Book People, couldnt get the Birthday 25% code to work .;(

coveredinweetabix Tue 03-Sep-13 16:15:01

For those asking earlier about Xmas PJs/jumpers, JoJo Maman and Boots already have theirs online. I think Primark get theirs in around October and I'm going to get mine from there this year, well certainly DS' jumper as it will only be worn a couple of times. DD's Xmas PJs only went in the charity bag the other day as they have been her favourite pair this year.

coveredinweetabix Tue 03-Sep-13 16:22:27

And Boots seem to have a new "up to 50% off toys" sale. Its mainly pre-school stuff but includes some bubble bath things, watches etc. I'm going to get DD the Gruffalo electric toothbrush & expanding flannel for either her stocking or the hamper.

Argh tesco piss me off. You have to show id when you want to collect something. Dp is going past later and they won't let him pick it up it has to be me so I have to make a special journey to our nearest tesco (20 minutes away hmm) to pick it up angry

LaTrucha Tue 03-Sep-13 16:46:57

They've got BIRDIES too!

MissElodie Tue 03-Sep-13 16:56:00

TheEndTisHere Tue 03-Sep-13 17:43:35

Thank you LaTrucha Just placed an order on The Gifted Penguin £1.95 was an automatic discount I don't know if that's just on sale items. But I'm grin as will my Dsis

Posted this at the end of the last thread -
Argos design a friend dolls are half price at 9.99. Really lovely little girl dolls with brush able hair and different outfits. They have only reduced the dark haired ones though

I went into Primark after the kids' swimming lesson today. They had a few bits of Xmas stuff. I got myself some pyjamas (I missed out on the ones I wanted last year as they'd sol out before I saw them) and some slippers (not Xmas ones but still quite winter themed), some non-xmas pj's for the kids (they won't be bothered about the pattern) and I got Dh some Xmas slippers and some superman lounge pants reduced to £5 from £9 (cos they didn't have any Xmas ones).

Not entirely sure Dh liked them but I think he was just relieved I hadn't bought him a Xmas jumper grin

I also got a pack of 5 toothbrushes for 75p. It'll all go in the Xmas eve box hamper along with the book I bought from a link on here, the Santa key we bring out every year, some sweets, some alcohol and some reindeer food.

olivo Tue 03-Sep-13 18:12:41

Oh Lordy, 150 posts already, I'm playing catch up! That's what I bet for going back to work, but at least my credit card has had a rest!

iloveholidays Tue 03-Sep-13 18:16:48

yabbadabba Tue 03-Sep-13 19:29:19

No free gift yet. A mumsnetter said that they send the gift afterwards so that people don't get the gift first then cancel the magazine subscription.
I think she said it takes up to 28 days for the gift to arrive.

PoppyWearer Tue 03-Sep-13 19:32:54

I came back to post about Stick Man but see you have already spotted it! Good work! A brilliant Christmas buy!

PoppyWearer Tue 03-Sep-13 19:36:28

Glad to hear some mugs have arrived! I missed my delivery today.

VoldemortsNipple Tue 03-Sep-13 19:37:10

I've been to Tesco to pick up my Squinkies and Zhu Zhu bundles. I can report they are both great and DNiece' s will feel very spoilt opening all the parcels. In fact I've just ordered another set to put away for a birthday just after Christmas.

Slainte Tue 03-Sep-13 20:00:32

Don't know if anyone's posted about this discounted Peppa Pig Garden Toolkit.

Slainte Tue 03-Sep-13 20:03:00

The Duplo number train has dropped down even further now, to £7! I bought it last month for DD's birthday and it went down really well.

TheEndTisHere Tue 03-Sep-13 20:50:14

Oreocrumbs I love that train set do you think it would be terrible to buy my bump (2.5ish month old at xmas)? was in a mothercare outlet yesterday and nearly bought bump a ball came was £15 down from £50 but as DH said bump wont be able to play with it till she's about 10 months sad <Goes off to think of a way to shrink DD's>

I paid £8.65 and thought that was a good price, it's a good set, DD plays with it a lot (it was her 3rd bday).

Oreo shhh dd is 3 but I'm telling myself she's too old for it wink

NigellaEllaElla Tue 03-Sep-13 21:01:09

Freemilk Tue 03-Sep-13 21:20:45

Was in Sainsburys and tesco today (forgot the chicken grrr)
Anyway tesco has summer type toys reduced the one I was in had very little left but it did have a few sand and water tables prices at 3.75 (I think) we bought some great craft tubes with three or four crafts in for £2 including a make your own pirate ship and a girly tube for a gift with handbag, flowers etc. They also had mister maker for 1.50 (50p off) all make good stocking fillers.

Sainsburys also had lots of craft kits reduced including foam alphabet letters for 1.25 and some reduced school/maths stuff

Found both shops really trying though!!

Sainsburys were interestingly taking all the reduced toys off the shelves not sure why

B&M bargains had Disney Squinkies and the carriage dispenser thingy for quite cheap prices

Tesco also had cheap Squinkies

Sorry I am not good at finding the exact stuff to link to it but I wanted to try and contribute

raisah Tue 03-Sep-13 21:23:54

Have a look in B&M for toys. I bought 2 from the peppa pig range for £5 less than rrp. Both my dc have e winter birthdays but luckily I don't have the added expense of Christmas.

RhondaJean Tue 03-Sep-13 21:42:38

Thank you to whoever it was posted about stopmotion film kits in response to my DDs list. I've found some nice kits for around the £50 mark which is ideal as the software alone for the green screen video editing is £220 plus and at 9 I dont think she would get money's worth from that!

So not a bargain as such but saved me loads and will make her very happy.

chestnut100 Tue 03-Sep-13 23:42:24

Loads of the yellow ticket toys at tesco are scanning much cheaper than the label suggests. Top bargains today; light up Cinderella from £30 to £7, some kind of pony that walks on a lead £33 to £5.50, transformers down to £2 and large light up tonka trucks to £1.50. Get to tescos and get scanning!

Freemilk Wed 04-Sep-13 00:19:38

Oh chestnut didn't happen to us this morning
Do you know can anyone take a self scanner or do you need to be registered? would be good to check going round

RhondaJean Wed 04-Sep-13 04:47:52

Was that the my little pony walking pinkie pie at £5.50???

chestnut100 Wed 04-Sep-13 06:24:45

In our tescos there are random scanners around on walls ( a couple in the clothing area) that anyone can use to check prices. It seemed that the extra reductions were mainly on the items that were on the end of isles, the sort of clearance section? There really were some great bargains.

It wasn't my little pony unfortunately! I forget the brand but my daughter had a kitten version last year and it is still holding up nicely, an absolute steal for £5.50!

chimchar Wed 04-Sep-13 06:56:57

For those who missed the duplo train, if it's the one with number blocks our Sainsburys was selling it at £8.65. Lego friends sets and star wars also reduced.

Patilla Wed 04-Sep-13 09:52:36

It might be a bit random but they were also selling of party bag fillers very cheaply. One or two might be suitable as a little stocking filler for all those children inclined to adore plastic tat!

Pinebarrens this was on HUKD a few days ago, scuttlebug £12.50

WaitMonkey Wed 04-Sep-13 10:33:52

Thanks lily, I've subscribed.

Littlemousewithcloggson Wed 04-Sep-13 10:35:14

Spotty I ordered 3 by mistake proper mistake not like all the other things that I told my husband were and was going to return 1 but if theyre that good I might keep it for a present, can the set be split down at all?

Yes it's split into four. I'm really shocked tbh!

Glad my squinkie post helped someone, no tesco near me but i do keep an eye online

Littlemousewithcloggson Wed 04-Sep-13 10:42:50

Am definitely keeping the extra one then! Thank you . Am seriously considering buying another set as well then but I may end up getting divorced if i do!

Littlemousewithcloggson Wed 04-Sep-13 10:44:54

Thank you sister for the post although if my daughters now become addicted to them I might not be thanking you !!!!!!!!!!! grin

littlemouse i do not want to be responsible for anyones divorce due to massive squinkie over purchasing smile

VeeAndTea Wed 04-Sep-13 10:45:24

Am a lurker, but had to say thanks for
1) the Squinkies - two nieces will be VERY happy at Christmas
2) The Duplo Train - my nephew will be impressed
3) Numerous other things that will make my DS think that we are loaded
and finally for the Magpie links - gorgeous mugs!

LoreleisSecret Wed 04-Sep-13 11:52:22

Are the squinkies only for girls? Any boy versions? Looks like something my DS1 would love (but i definitely couldnt persuade him to play with Disney princesses!) hmm

we have got squinkies of a crane dispenser and spiderman dispenser with little basketball type player figures. they were from Home and bargains and B and M and amazon

The duplo train is back down to £8.64 here .

muchostinky Wed 04-Sep-13 11:59:26

Lots of Squinkies for boys - I got my DS some last year for his stocking

MissElodie Wed 04-Sep-13 12:05:48

oh gosh I think I need to hide this thread. I've just had a quick look in the loft where I've stored all my bargain presents that I've been collecting for the DC and god knows who elses family birthday and Christmas presents and I've got stuff I didn't even know I had and had totally forgotten about shock.

Think my DP may be right when he says I've got a problem blush. I best not ask him to collect the squinkies I've just ordered smile!

LoreleisSecret Wed 04-Sep-13 12:09:36

Thank you Supermario, going to buy the Spider-Man now! His favourite smile

we have the spiderman smile is a handy place to keep them too save them rolling about all over the place

LoreleisSecret Wed 04-Sep-13 12:22:19

Seeings as you are all so good at this bargain hunting iam looking for a toddlers golf set (caddy) made of plastic for my DS2 (17 months!) Very basic.

We had a lovely Mickey Mouse bought from the Disney store that got accidentally given away by MIL hmm that he loved. Can no longer find that on sale! Any ideas bargain hunters?

Livvylongpants Wed 04-Sep-13 12:32:56

B&m do them for about £3, yellow plastic, 3 clubs, 3 balls, 2 holes and 2 flags all in a little yellow caddy.

Very nice my daughters got one

LoreleisSecret Wed 04-Sep-13 12:33:33

Thank you Livvy! You star x

Livvylongpants Wed 04-Sep-13 12:34:06

Livvylongpants Wed 04-Sep-13 12:34:19
lazzaroo Wed 04-Sep-13 12:37:38

Has anyone received their magpie mugs? Are seconds good enough to give as gifts?

JustBecauseICan Wed 04-Sep-13 12:44:42

Not a link, but a tip.......I always prowl round lovely but bloody expensive sites like Etsy and NotOnthehighstreet and then find exactly the same thing on ebay.

Last year I got Norwegian style tealight holders with red cut out santa frills for £2.99 each. They were £14.99 on NoTHS.

JustBecauseICan Wed 04-Sep-13 12:49:12

Oh you beasts!!!!! Why did I just go and look at these blessed Magpie things? Dd is mad about owls and they have so much lovely not-in-sale owl stuff. grin

WaitMonkey Wed 04-Sep-13 12:50:06

I wish Amazon would stop reducing all these brilliant books, I keep ordering them. sad grin

DD would have loved that golf set but I did see 16 of those squinkie things you've all been posting about (on the B&M site). Too small for my DD but they were £2.99.

500internalerror Wed 04-Sep-13 13:05:22

Tescos had a talking charley bear down to £3 today in store - sadly there was only one left, & his talking bit was missing from inside!

Boots have 3 for 2 on toys instore, but not much in our branch.

98percentchocolate Wed 04-Sep-13 13:15:44

No sign of toy sale at boots I'm afraid. Saw a few toys that I want to get dd and just need the discount now!

DD's birthday is Feb, do toys often come into the jan sales? I'm looking at duplo and the fisher price tea set in particular.

cheesecheeseplease Wed 04-Sep-13 13:17:58

what age would you say squinkies are for dns will be nearly 6&9

Penguinbeaver Wed 04-Sep-13 13:18:30

Anyone who of any nice personalised Christmas gifts for a baby's first Christmas? Needs to be post-able overseas so rules out baubles etc. thanks

The Book People are offering 10% off with the code BREEZE

JustBecauseICan Wed 04-Sep-13 13:20:41

cheese- squinkies would be perfect for 6 and 9 yr olds!

I am off to B and M this afternoon.

Just had an email from Photobox with 77% off photobooks. (maybe they have spotted I have been converted to albelli!)

ballinacup Wed 04-Sep-13 13:23:31

Penguin I bought DNiece a beautiful framed print with her name from eBay. Paid about £17 but they are available cheaper. Just search for 'framed name print'.

Name prints.

iloveholidays Wed 04-Sep-13 13:54:01

my samples have arrived for DP which I bought from eBay, really pleased with them. I've got 15 so not sure whether to do an advent calendar or just use for Christmas present. wonder whether DDs will question DP getting an advent calendar unless he does one for me!!! smile

Now you lot have made my buy a million books what will dd keep them in? We've got a sling book case but its already fairly full, any ideas?

Rugbylovingmum Wed 04-Sep-13 14:44:47

Spotty Teacakes - we have a very full sling bookcase too and the rest of our books are in a big box under the bed. Every 2 or 3 weeks I swap some of the books over and DD1 gets really excited about the 'new' ones all over again. When they were all out I found we just read the same books over and over - this works much better.

I've just discovered this thread and it's brilliant - thank you!!! Just off to Argos to collect some things I found in the link you posted to the half price sale. I have a Merida doll for DD1, a Vtech microphone for DD2 and a couple of Disney Princess Magic Clip Mini Dolls for DD1 and my niece.

TheEndTisHere Wed 04-Sep-13 14:48:45

SpottyTeacakes I made my DD's bed caddies very simple one here so easy to make your own if your a beginner.

Christmas hamper ideas here just swap from valentines day to Christmas and I just love these.

Pinebarrens Wed 04-Sep-13 14:52:08

wow thanks littlemouse ! I will check out my sainsburys thanks

Theonlyoneiknow Wed 04-Sep-13 15:38:42

I like the look of thèse

Maraki Wed 04-Sep-13 15:39:28

Book people have Lego Brickmaster Ninjago for £5.99 and code BREEZE gives you 10% off, so thats £5.40!!!

Fab present for little boys I think. I added some Usborne chocolate cookbook (£2.99) and a few Jamie Olivers to get free delivery, most of my Xmas shopping done!

Oh I like that theonly not sure where it would go though? Hmm end of her bed maybe...lots of good ideas though thanks smile

vix206 Wed 04-Sep-13 15:49:02

I'm a bit shock at the cardboard box thing for £13. We did this for DS with our own cardboard box for free. So easy to do yourself, and it's a great way to allow them to select and tidy away their own books smile

Spotty Teacakes - I would second rotating the books. We have one of the bigbooklittlebook boxes linked to earlier in the bottom of DD's wardrobe (where she can reach it), another on higher up in her wardrobe (where I can reach but she can't) and a basket in the living room (mostly for library books and our newest acquisitions)

DS is a little older and has bookshelves in his room plus space for current favourites at the end of his bed.

I have recently started to hide all the seasonal ones away on the recieved wisdom of mumsnet!

ValiumQueen Wed 04-Sep-13 15:58:24

Marking, and 12 pages to catch up! Wow!

Chocchip88 Wed 04-Sep-13 16:04:43

lazzaroo my mugs have arrived from Magpie, I have carefully inspected 2 of them and can't spot why they are seconds so am very happy to give them as gifts.

chirpchirp Wed 04-Sep-13 16:14:46

spotty being a true Pinterest addict I use Ikea spice racks for book shelves :-

Thank you for posting about the Ruby and Ed slippers. I have just taken delivery of a pair of string mules and they are gorgeous. I am putting them away with great reluctance but thankful that I will not be on the receiving end of DH's rather traditional taste in M&S slippers this year.

Chirp that's perfect!! Thank you thanks

ilove I'm using the samples I bought for Dh (20 mixed) along with the lego man soaps and some plastic tat kids' aprty filler bits to do an advent calendar for Dh. I'm doing one for myself (ordered 20 samples for me too) and demanded politely suggested that Dh could buy me some embroidery threads to go in mine.

shock Chirp That is fantastic.

lazzaroo Wed 04-Sep-13 16:29:20

Thanks chocchip might have to order later smile

Also love the ikea spice rack bookshelf idea!

Patilla Wed 04-Sep-13 16:45:32

We use one of these, one side for each child.

this is full price but they come up on eBay as both used and new

LoreleisSecret Wed 04-Sep-13 16:47:12

I have no idea what it is but i REALLY want a brio crab now grin

I must own one.

BuskersCat Wed 04-Sep-13 17:02:51

thanks cake

Patilla Wed 04-Sep-13 17:03:55

Oh bother that was meant to be a tidy books book box.

The crab is from amazon and is on my list for DD for Christmas but don't you all go buying them so they sell out!!!!!

I saw it in a shop today and it is hilarious.

or more likely mildly amusing but exacerbated by my recent sleep deprivation

Either way it is sod all use at storing books!

Patilla Wed 04-Sep-13 17:05:31

not a crab

I hope...

hoppingmad Wed 04-Sep-13 17:08:26

I was just in home bargains and picked up a lego set for £22.99 - currently priced at £30 on amazon
Can't link as on phone but it is number 5891

Re. magpie mugs - mine arrived today. Two are spotless and I would happily give as gifts, the other has blodges all over the squirrel in the wrong colour and I definitely wouldn't. So it's obviously a bit hit and miss. The nice ones are lovely, but the poor one is disappointing.

Oh no I hope my two are ok!

MooseyMoo Wed 04-Sep-13 17:34:14

The Spicery have 25% off their subscriptions until 15th Sept. You can now choose from 6 different options each month. I got DH the subscription and he loved it.

chirpchirp Wed 04-Sep-13 17:48:53

Damnautocorrect Wed 04-Sep-13 17:53:58

Waves to Rumours. Have you started yet? smile

Reastie Wed 04-Sep-13 18:32:22

Patilla I love the mislink. I was looking at that crab video thinking 'how does she use one side for each child?!!!!'

iloveholidays Wed 04-Sep-13 18:42:45

Damnautocorrect (love the name btw)

Lego soap]

If you search for Lego soap there are other options.

If you just search for men's samples on ebay lots come up. I bought 15 samples of aftershave for £13. They look good so hopefully mixed with some chocolate I can do an advent calendar for DP. Is it sad if I do one for myself or should I ask DP???? smile

jamtoast12 Wed 04-Sep-13 18:47:04

Anyone got any codes for toys r us? I'm seconds from ordering lego friends Olivia's house!

So chuffed although this is for dds 6th birthday at the end of the month smile

jamtoast12 Wed 04-Sep-13 19:01:54

Cross posts but thanks guys... I am so pleased with that price as they're not the biggest of toys!

Patilla Wed 04-Sep-13 19:10:26

If you wanted a lot of those Lego soaps you could make your own using the silicon Lego men mould from the Lego shop and basic soap.

But for a few it's not worth the price of the ice cube lego men tray

PoppyWearer Wed 04-Sep-13 19:17:35

I feel responsible for the Magpie mugs as I was the one who linked to them - so sorry to anyone who has not received nice ones. Not yet got mine as I missed the delivery, so don't yet know if I've been lucky or not...

I was a cheapskate a fantastic bargain hunter and bought 20 men's Avon samples from this Ebay shop for £3.49 posted.

Oreocrumbs Wed 04-Sep-13 19:42:31
Oreocrumbs Wed 04-Sep-13 19:43:07

Click on order sample, under the free sample heading, are mini images of samples, I think you can tick three. Scroll left or right to view more. Both men and women fragrances. I haven't received mine yet so not how they are packaged.

ValiumQueen Wed 04-Sep-13 19:48:15

kiwidreamer Wed 04-Sep-13 19:58:47

Did everyone pay postage for Magpie... just checking before I checkout!

hoppingmad Wed 04-Sep-13 20:08:02

Ah, hate these threads. Spent a fortune after last years thread (have name changed since) & now I have just bought Olivia's house with the code.
It's a slippery slope from here!

Hello kitty play kitchen £8.30, small but has 15 accessories with

RhondaJean Wed 04-Sep-13 20:20:57

Thanks moosey I've ordered some samples too and if they come looking half decent I will order more using other emails for DH and for dd1s stocking.

I dont feel guilty because DH likes Hugo boss aftershave and boss orange and will happily spend on it's only fair really...

lazzaroo Wed 04-Sep-13 20:21:21

No worries poppywearer, I am tempted to risk it but I know my luck! Think I'll skip them as they are for gifts. Am sure the majority will be fine.

PoppyWearer Wed 04-Sep-13 20:21:38

Yes, paid postage for Magpie.

RhondaJean Wed 04-Sep-13 20:25:01

The Lego men ice cube tray is only £3.99 though I don't know how much postage is but it looks like a good investment!

TheOnlyPink Wed 04-Sep-13 20:25:04

Thanks for all the bargains so far!

Not sure if there are any other Irish bargain hunters here, but thought I would post this Heatons Toy Sale just in case. Some really great bargains.

TheOnlyPink Wed 04-Sep-13 20:25:44

Sorry for my overuse of the word bargain! blush

poppywearer it was a good link and I knew they were seconds when I ordered! It's a good shop to know about for awkward to buy for people.

nickdrakeslovechild Wed 04-Sep-13 20:48:39

I know this is full price, but at £7.50 its the cheapest ive seen. Its a Mens lego tshirt to go with the soap! Just a good deal on a lego white house or similar and OH is done.
Lego Tshirt

Slainte Wed 04-Sep-13 20:54:36

Thanks lovechild that's half of BIL's present sorted smile

sameoldIggi Wed 04-Sep-13 21:06:00

Mooseymoo, sorry don't know much about spices - if I bought a pack now (I like the gift boxes I think more than the subscription) would they still be usable after Christmas? Do spices have a long shelf life, in other words? TIA!

BuddhaBelly Wed 04-Sep-13 21:09:40

My Charlie and the chocolate factory pop up book arrived today. Absolutely gorgeous so thanks for the tipthanks

Oreocrumbs Wed 04-Sep-13 21:30:11
Leilandri Wed 04-Sep-13 21:32:04

I've been struggling with what to put in DS1's advent calenday this year, he'll be 4.6. DS2 has finger puppets, he'll be 2.4.
Then your comments of ebay and perfume samples gave me a rather randomly related brainwave. Bundles of lego minifigures! Have managed to get a bundle of 9 mixed figures for 3.19 including postage, as he doesn't have any yet (just reached lego age!) I don't have to worry about duplicates grin

RhondaJean Wed 04-Sep-13 21:34:05

Going round looking for free samples online now...

Free Burberry Brit fragrance sample here

My magpie mugs came today and were all fine, thought about ordering one for bil (fishing bargains anyone) and d nephew(absolutely 109% no doubt about it gluten free bargains anyone). (To fit in above mug)
And no doubt the lovely weather is a good thing but I have a marvellous pair of cashmere pj 's that arrived today so could autumn turn up please.

Neeko Wed 04-Sep-13 21:38:45

Hello *Buddha• smile Hope you're well I am quite addicted to these threads!

Am I the only one who does a Cadbury chocolate advent calendar from somewhere like Asda?!

Oreocrumbs Wed 04-Sep-13 21:41:44

Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue set 18 and Accessorize nail wardrobe 5 (currently on sale for £10 on accessorize site). Free del until 10th sept on all orders from superdrug.

Leilandri Wed 04-Sep-13 21:50:45

Neeko my Dh's grandparents buy those choc advent calendars for my boys, so I open them and put the chocs into their nice wooden Xmas advent trees!! In fairness I used to manage a charity shop, and these advent trees came in 4 years before I was even ttc! I originally bought them to give to my friends' children, but I decided to keep them. So glad that I finall get to use them!! grin

lazzaroo Wed 04-Sep-13 21:53:22

If you are ordering from Superdrug, check out their 'free gifts' tab. It's not that obvious but they have quite a few free gifts. Some are related to specific purchases but others, like this toiletry bag, seem to be free with any purchase (if my tired eyes are reading it right!)....

Rumours Wed 04-Sep-13 21:54:30

neeko thanks to this thread, that I'm addicted to too, ive done.loads of shopping.

Waves to buddha smile

lazzaroo Wed 04-Sep-13 21:55:42

Ignore eyes aren't working! They are all linked to specific purchases I think.

list of places offering free samples, some work some didnt for me but worth a try

BumpKitty Wed 04-Sep-13 22:09:23

my mugs arrived today from magpie and they are both lovely - I can't see why they are seconds - and they come in really nice gift boxes. I also ordered the ABC cardboard suitcases from magpie (reduced to £10) and they are really nice too, I'm thinking of splitting them and putting crafty bits and bobs in for SIL and a couple of friends.

runningincircles Wed 04-Sep-13 22:22:19

Thanks Oreo just ordered 2 nail wardrobes. I'm nearly sorted for the kids and ladies. Just lots of gifts to get for hard to buy for men. Oh what to get?!?

Freemilk Wed 04-Sep-13 22:35:48

Not worry autumn is coming, I finally caved in today and bought the sand and water table from Tesco today after walking past it for about 3 weeks so I pdict the temp will plummet any day now!!
If someone can please tell me why, after I had specifically told my kids not to mix the sand and water they did just that and then proceeded to chuck handfuls of it at the wheelie bins making everything filthy I would be pleased
And if they can tell me what an appropriate punishment is I would also be pleased, current one is to confiscate the playmobil specials they bought with the £2 my Mother gave them for weeding her garden

It is not as if I havnt told them how to behave 1,000,000 times already.

So in Tesco I got the amazing Cinderella sparkling twinkle doll for £7 so thanks so much who posted that, there were none on the shelves so I hunted high and low and eventually found one hidden on the top shelf in another part of the shop so i reckon either a staff member or some other shopper had popped it up there for later.
Sand and water table was 3.75, sand 1.75, (fills the table several times over so that's a bargain.
Playmobil specials £2, quite a few different sorts, circus trainer, knight, boy with dune buggy type car, archer, zoo type guy
Got try Disney cakes and sweets mag for me for 99p as a little treat, found a skylanders tee for £3 Disney princess sock 5 pack for 1.50 so all in all a successful trip (except for the kids behaviour!!)

I am however very cross with myself to have missed out on the Mand S cashmere and silk pjs!!

Ordered a couple of things for the kids in the sale and they have done their usual trick of cancelling half the order!

They also still have crayola crayons and felt tips on offer in Asda and Sainsburys and had some school maths type stuff (calculators, protractors etc) for half price.

Still resisting the magpie stuff but rewlly only just, looked at it with one of the dcs earlier and he was trying to persuade me to order the whole alphabet plus a couple of extra es for good measure grin

Freemilk Wed 04-Sep-13 22:37:13

Oh does anyone have an idea what kind of search words would be good for the samples I have tried and just come up with a mass of stuff that is hard to sort through.

RhondaJean Wed 04-Sep-13 22:39:34

Omg I'm addicted to ordering free samples now...
At least the credit card isn't hurting.

I'm doing aftershaves for DH but I think I might spend tomorrow night ordering bundles of perfumes for dd1?

slp123 Wed 04-Sep-13 22:50:22

Has anyone got a free delivery code for the book people?
Thank you

ShoopShoop Wed 04-Sep-13 22:54:20

I'm on the lookout for a Nails Inc discount code or cheap Nails Inc polishes if anyone has seen any around. I make my own crackers and want a few bottles of naice polish to put in cracker for very fussy label conscious DSis and DMum hmm grin.

ShoopShoop Wed 04-Sep-13 22:56:13

Should be crackers....plural. I usually do around 3 per person to spread out over Christmas lunch and Boxing Day. [rod for own back emoticon]

PoppyWearer Wed 04-Sep-13 22:57:26

Shoop Fragrances Direct had Essie nail polish for £1.99 a few weeks ago.

Theonlyoneiknow Wed 04-Sep-13 22:59:08

THANKS might work for free delivery at the book people, it did for me recently

PoppyWearer Wed 04-Sep-13 23:00:42
BeaWheesht Wed 04-Sep-13 23:07:31

Well I've finally caved and ordered the Charlie and re chocolate factory pop up book am v excited

Just reserved an angry birds 'head warmer' aka a hat for £3.99 at argos too. Sorry can't link as phone playing up.

VoldemortsNipple Wed 04-Sep-13 23:15:29

Freemilk, I used a selection of phrases including, samples, women's samples, perfume samples, makeup samples toiletries samples. I also looked for 3ml samples (which are dearer but usually perfume in little bottles instead of vials) I also tried travel size, which gave me loads of new items including 6 Molton Brown miniatures for around £7·50 and 3 Dior eye creams for £2·50. I want to have a few bigger samples mixed in to keep it interesting.

I can't believe my little advent calendar idea has been so successful. [Smile] and I can't believe how many samples of face cream and shampoo I keep finding in the back of drawers!

joymaker Thu 05-Sep-13 00:51:14

chirp the ikea spice rack looks like an exceedingly good idea. How many books are you roughly managing to comfortably fit in each rack?

lucamom Thu 05-Sep-13 07:37:51

Thanks all for the codes, especially the Spicery one!

Small contribution but I hope someone with small DD's finds it useful! Dance Direct have a sale on some items, and the code BTSUK13 gives a 10% discount as well.

Oreocrumbs Thu 05-Sep-13 08:12:56

Nails Inc often do a luck draw type thing where you get 7 full size bottles for about £20. They always include 2 current trend colours, and the rest I presume to be last seasons colours.

They are a bit hit and miss, I got some not long ago and there are 5 bottles out of the 7 I will never wear. Royal blue, bright green, glow in the dark orange and such like. I'm afraid I'm more of a porchester square girl!!

But if your lot are bit more adventurous than me it's a cheap way to get them.

Mama1980 Thu 05-Sep-13 08:27:54

I also have 30% off VIP codes from gap, I have 4. If you'd like pm me smile

DTisMYdoctor Thu 05-Sep-13 08:41:49

I was in Sainsburys on Tuesday and they had different toys on sale from the last time I was in, including some 'Planes' (new Disney movie) toys. And some lego I had already bought had been reduced further angry

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 08:46:41

ASOS have some River Island purses reduced - couple of them are £10 (from £20), then you get 10% off on all sale items until Monday with WOW10 at the checkout. These are nice for teen girls with a voucher in I think as they really only want that or cash grin

Oreocrumbs Thu 05-Sep-13 08:50:09

Gah, I've spent an hour ordering free perfume samples!

You lot are not good for me grin.

Thanks for the list of sites Supermariossister! That saved some time.

I have a code for Joules, FIELD gets 15% off and free delivery until end of Oct.

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 09:10:30

IJustNeedANap Thu 05-Sep-13 09:15:51

It's addictive! Not sure how much or what I've got coming, so will wait until it is all here and see what I can do with it.

I might do a stocking for me and DP rather than an advent calendar. I'm hoping molton brown will do an offer like last year and I will amass a nice little pile of trial size bottles again.

Anyhoo, back to spending money!

Crayola twistables sketch and draw set 7.49 Argos, + free del.

IJustNeedANap Thu 05-Sep-13 09:16:56

Thanks for the helicopter link Oreo, I'm wondering if it could be a present for DP he likes gadgety things and he's a bloody nightmare to buy for so it might interest him for a little while any thoughts?

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 09:17:44

Are those less-than-a-pound Amazon jewellery 'offers' not dodgy? I always assume they are just to get your card details and email address - maybe I'm just suspicious though!

IJustNeedANap Thu 05-Sep-13 09:19:17

Sniffy my card is linked up to amazon and unfortunately all I have to do is click a button and I've never had a problem with my card details before being on there

IJustNeedANap Thu 05-Sep-13 09:19:43

Oh and another thing the helicopter Oreo linked to is best price on camelcamel

Sorry for all the posts blush

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 09:22:52

oreo I thought about doing a stocking although DP and I decided last year to just stick to the kids for stockings as thought we better be consistent as to whether father Christmas did one for us or not. maybe I'll just package it differently to a stocking and put it until the tree to come down to. I've got so many ideas going through my head, seriously need to start making some decisions!!! smile

I've probably got a load of samples in my draws I'll never use so don't really want to add to it. grin

Oreocrumbs Thu 05-Sep-13 09:25:09

It depends how gadgety they are IJust! The engineers and scientists in my lot will just fiddle with it, dismantle it and then put it away.

But the others seems to revert into children, and it gives them something to do over the Christmas holidays when they are bored!

sniffy I think the amazon cheap jewellery is fine, I've bought it before and had no problems. The main thing that is dodgy is the RRP they claim! It's cheap jewellery, but its nice cheap jewellery for the price.

Littlemousewithcloggson Thu 05-Sep-13 10:13:57

Just been into tesco. Fireman Sam activity wheels £1.85 from £7.50 and football sets reduced to £2.50. Also play doh sweet shop candy cyclone reduced to £5.50

98percentchocolate Thu 05-Sep-13 10:24:42

Pound land was selling nails inc varnishes a few weeks ago to whoever was asking.

Amazon sellers can only sell on there if they have a certain percentage satisfied rating. If it dips below that (and its a very high number) then they aren't allowed to sell anymore so don't worry about the card details thing. They've been selling those so long that I don't think they'd still be on there if it wasn't genuine.

Mrswilliams87 Thu 05-Sep-13 10:47:27

For all those making yummy vodka this year have we established where is the cheapest place to buy the 40% vodka from?? Im think of trying aldi or liddel x TIA

98percentchocolate Thu 05-Sep-13 10:48:47

thanks for the helicopter link Oreo, dp will love it! He was looking at them the other day in asda and I was convinced he was going to buy one there and then!

MooseyMoo Thu 05-Sep-13 11:10:52

<does conga across thread> do do do, the robots have arrived,

Jojay Thu 05-Sep-13 11:19:05

Not really a Xmas bargain but Clarks have got 20% off adult styles until tomorrow with BSAVE.

I've just bought these boots for £64 with free delivery, not bad for knee high leather boots I reckon. Not all sizes available though.

muchostinky Thu 05-Sep-13 11:25:55

Got my Elemis freebie this morning from Women's Fitness magazine. If anyone else's was packaged the same as mine then you may not be able to give it as a gift.

It was in a very lightly padded envelope, so the box is very squashed and bashed. I know it was only a freebie, but I was giving it to my Mum to bulk up her pressie.

DangerousMouse Thu 05-Sep-13 11:33:17

I missed a parcel this morning, I'll bet it was my robot! <joins in with the conga>

dinosaurs book £1.50 something about underpants grin

JustBecauseICan Thu 05-Sep-13 11:50:58

muchostinky- just coming on to say the same. The bath milk is ginormous, 400ml, but a very second hand jiffy bag, box completely squashed. Was delivered by scary looking yodel driver who I actually thought was the scrap metal merchant who has been emptying a house up the road grin

I will still give it as a present, but abandon the box which is bashed out of all recognition. I would be complaining if I'd paid money for it...but as it is.......grin

I haven't got mine yet but if the box is crappy I might get a cellophane bag and tie with a bow smile

IJustNeedANap Thu 05-Sep-13 11:54:58

Thanks Oreo I've brought it for DP

sameoldIggi I asked The Spicery about their subscriptions and packs and expiry dates. Got this reply:
"Thanks for your email. Our subscription and gift vouchers have no expiry date on them so can be redeemed at any time. Our Spicery Packs and Kits have a shelf life of approximately 12 months, unless they are sale items in which case they have shorter dates, normally between 2 and 4 months. Any other queries, please get in touch."

ProtectiveMother Thu 05-Sep-13 12:46:05

Thanks to all and keep em coming especially Lego, technic, towel dressing gowns and scooters :-)

I have ordered Collins 3-5 and Stick man so far. Wanted mugs too but postage to me outside GB too much :-)

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 12:48:24

Could anyone help with ideas for two people?

MIL - lovely, very young for age, very 'European', will need something she can take back on hand luggage. Will need a few things really.

Friend - bit like me, which should make it easier, doesn't like 'girly' things, like stuff with a bit of individuality. I'm reading the list of ideas above to see how I would respond to them as gifts which gives me a notion of how she would, and there's nothing so far . . .

They are very tricky hmm . . .

Also, cheapest place for Kindles (basic as for child) - any ideas on that one?

Thank you!

ProtectiveMother Thu 05-Sep-13 13:00:55

My contribution is Oliver Jeffers 'How to catch a star.' The best children's book EVER! Half price on amazon at £3.46 :-)

SarahAndFuck Thu 05-Sep-13 13:01:57

The BOOK PEOPLE have hardback copies of Where my wellies take me by Michael Morpurgo for £3.99 and it's £9.49 on Amazon.

Now all I need to do is go back and find the codes for free delivery etc. I knew I should have been making notes grin

heymammy Thu 05-Sep-13 13:06:11

I have a 25% code for River Island through my Elle subscription but won't use it, their stuff is just too young trendy for me grin

It's a one time code though so if anyone wants it please just pm me. Valid 4 sep to 6 oct

VeeAndTea Thu 05-Sep-13 13:06:29

sniffy, how about a kobo? WH Smiths do lots of deals on it.

janx Thu 05-Sep-13 13:09:53

Home Bargain still had the Harry Potter lego books with little figure for £2.99- hurrah! Also lego batman and Star Wars - can't link as on phone but really nice and barginous!
Also nice coloured glass bottles for 79p that would be good to make flavoured vodkagrin

sameoldIggi Thu 05-Sep-13 13:10:31

crafynclothy. Thanks so much for that, helps me decide what to so smile. It's odd that elsewhere on the site it talks about the secret being the freshness of the spices - yet they last for a year!
Have realised the discount doesn't work on the boxes, just the subscription, so no reason to buy it just yet.

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 13:21:35

Have PMed you heymammy as that would be so useful - thank you!

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 13:22:28

Is a kobo the same as a Kindle vee? Do you just download from Amazon?

AllThatGlistens Thu 05-Sep-13 13:28:48

Fabulous thread, I've had the Lego soaps, pirate book and a ton of aftershave samples ordered grin

VeeAndTea Thu 05-Sep-13 13:33:37

Sniffy, no but you download from the kobo store and through smiths, plus the internet is far better than on the kindle I have a kindle, dh has a pocket kobo and he loves it. I got it for his fathers day present and its the best present ever.

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 13:35:41

Thanks vee - really wanted one that he could use all his amazon vouchers up on as they seem to get wasted on rubbish every birthday . . .

VeeAndTea Thu 05-Sep-13 13:38:49

Ah, ok. The kindle is awesome. I'd be lost without mine.

heymammy Thu 05-Sep-13 13:45:05

Code sent sniffy smile

MooseyMoo Thu 05-Sep-13 13:46:28

sameoldiggi I'm so sorry, I forgot to reply to your question. I saw it at 5.15am and was going to check dates on recent packs I've bought. I bought some spice packs (Memphis BBQ pork was one of them) which go out of date March 2014.

heymammy Thu 05-Sep-13 13:48:31

For your friend, sniffy, is she a reader? have some quirky things if she's that way inclined!

I've bought a subscription voucher for Dh (to go in his stocking) and some of the packs for to split between us and a friend (there's 20% off the packs if you buy 4)

Whoops, that was to sameoldiggi blush

sniffywhiff Thu 05-Sep-13 14:04:30

heymammy you're fixing everything for me - I'd forgotten about that site, and I'd love everything on it, so that will be her sorted! grin Thank you . . .

Littlemousewithcloggson Thu 05-Sep-13 14:23:16

ok, this is another Hope education one! vtech microphone, pack of SIX (Thats what it says anyway!) for £9.95 + vat. Normally 5.99 each

Littlemousewithcloggson Thu 05-Sep-13 14:23:37

Just got back from my sainsburys, some Lego China and batman half price and a Lego friends stage, also some Disney princess stuff and little monsters u figurines, and lots of other bits with a pound off etc.

siblingrevelry Thu 05-Sep-13 14:34:24

Code 1036 for free del and 36% off at La Redoute until midnight tomorrow (although might not be popular as think they're part of the Vertbaudet stable!)

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Thu 05-Sep-13 14:39:19

Can anyone who ordered the Studio wooden advent calendar tell me if door 24 is supposed to open? Mine is well and truly stuck, but it looks like another drawer to me.

I also ordered this chunky 24 metre roll of wrapping paper for 2.99 and 4 packs of these Christmas cards and this big pack of multi-sized bags (which i didn't realise were handle-less, so not quite sure what to do with them) and several packs of these gift bows.

Can highly recommend all of the above. Even the lovely advent calendar despite it's 24th door remaining a mystery... Maybe it'll pop open on Christmas Eve by itself?

500internalerror Thu 05-Sep-13 14:58:46

Ah but that v tech microphone doesn't say 'pack of 6' when it's in the basket - I just tried it...

I'm most disappointed. I've just got back from our local Tesco superstore and no reductions sad I did scope out a few things I'd like as and when they do get the reduced labels out though.

I had a little more luck in Sainsburys where I found these Hello Kitty squinkie type toys reduced to £1.50 per pack which were perfect for bulking out a party present for this weekend.

HenriettaPye Thu 05-Sep-13 15:13:37

Just got my vertbaudet order with free wooden abacus puzzle toy and its fantastic. They have given me another code for 15% off and a free mystery gift but I'm scared incase it's the sports bag! shock

Littlemousewithcloggson Thu 05-Sep-13 15:23:31

Never tried that 500, just saw the description and thought it looked quite good.

yabbadabba Thu 05-Sep-13 15:48:05

My Elemis has arrived too. Luckily the box was ok so will be a great gift for my mum for Christmas.

500internalerror Thu 05-Sep-13 15:48:54

I don't know why I tried - I have nobody that's its suitable for anyway gringringrin

leesmum Thu 05-Sep-13 16:09:37

Bloody hell 18 pages already!!!! Poor REASTIE will have to be constantly getting new posts ready, just an idea but why not have the next one without the offers/links and just a normal one and just do the BIG opening post every few weeks???

GeekInThePink Thu 05-Sep-13 16:39:08

heymammy I hold you personally responsible for making me want everything on website!
I love it! Not too expensive either.

Theonlyoneiknow Thu 05-Sep-13 16:42:18

Are there any free delivery codes for Verbaudet?

sameoldIggi Thu 05-Sep-13 16:44:44

Hope education are not much good with their descriptions/pricing, are they? Think they should sack whoever runs their web page.

sameoldIggi Thu 05-Sep-13 16:46:01

Thanks Mooseymoo, good to know they'll last if I get them now thanks

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 16:46:21

4 packages have arrived today, studio, book people, 24 books and I assume my robot which has been taken to my local post office so will collect tomorrow. I've had to hide all in our downstairs loo which is currently out of action as girls are here. Thanks for all the links grin

MooseyMoo Thu 05-Sep-13 16:53:21

sameoldiggi I hadn't even thought to look at the dates blush

I am currently looking at paper blanks notebooks. They are gorgeous <drool> I do love stationery. DH hovered by me throughout Paperchase. So annoying.

GeekInThePink Thu 05-Sep-13 17:01:05

Forgot to say the Old Bear 10 books for £10 from the book people parcel arrived together- it's fab! Comes in it's own zipped wallet too. Considering its rrp is £69! I'm chuffed.

queststarz Thu 05-Sep-13 17:19:53

Been to Tesco extra today - bargains included
Star wars clone wars action figures £2 (was £8.95) - like this

Then got avengers duvet set £7 was £14

Good crayola bargains this was reduced to £3

Some transformers pencils sets etc half price.

They had a lot in their clearance aisle and on the end of the toy aisle in clearance.

Got the little one a toy microwave for his kitchen reduced to £5 - it actually turns the plate on a timer (e.g. set 3 seconds press go and it turns for 3 secs - he'll love it - kitchens mad!)

Thanks for the idea of the advent calender book - ordered the cheap one fro Canada and it came today.

Great thread -thanks for the effort!

HenriettaPye Thu 05-Sep-13 17:27:36

I've emailed hope education and they have confirmed that it IS a pack of 6. I've ordered!

That's such a bargain. I think I'd just be buying them for the sake of it though!

HenriettaPye Thu 05-Sep-13 17:35:48

Well I can give one to DD, one to my niece, one to my nephew then not sure about the other 3- maybe eBay them, will make my money back!

heymammy Thu 05-Sep-13 17:36:21

Oh I know geek last Christmas I asked DP to just get me anything from that website and I would be happy!

Glad to be of service sniffy

sameoldIggi Thu 05-Sep-13 17:38:02

But why Would they sell such a thing by the half dozen? Scratching head.
I anticipate microphone gate!

Reastie Thu 05-Sep-13 17:40:27

I think they're an educational suppliers aren't they? Which means they would often sell multiples of items I would assume...

HenriettaPye Thu 05-Sep-13 17:41:30

Yes I'm actually fully expecting one microphone to come...but I have an email from her saying that yes they are packs of 6!

500internalerror Thu 05-Sep-13 17:58:49

Moosey, I got a brand new perfect paperblanks notebook in the charity shop last week for £1!

I'm so tempted to go to the huge tesco tomorrow on the off chance -it's 45 mins awAy tho...

VoldemortsNipple Thu 05-Sep-13 17:59:57

My Elemis gift also arrived today in a slightly bashed box. I think the problem is the bottle is too heavy for the box. Anyway, is doesn't matter because I bought the other Elemis stuff from House of Fraiser and that's not in a box so they will look nice together as a set.

MooseyMoo Thu 05-Sep-13 18:00:51

Ooh 500 I am very jealous

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 18:12:06

I'm very annoyed, despite finding the elemus offer and ordering twice before you lot, neither of mines is here yet.

I'm not fussed about the box, planning to make it a set with the house of Fraser body cream anyway. Just want the stuff!

I bought dd2 a hello kitty camcorder for £18.99 from play, I was a little nervous as its £30 everywhere else but I ordered Monday. It's here today, in pleased as punch, will post a link Fromm iPad later, phone is too fiddly.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Thu 05-Sep-13 18:41:14

My elemis isn't here either rhonda and I ordered it the same day you posted the link.

The mag however is still in the wrapper despite arriving several days ago.

If it comes to it I'll give just give that to my mum...

MooseyMoo Thu 05-Sep-13 19:23:28

This isnt really a bargain but this was the best price I found for the Old Leather Foiled Ultra Lined journal for £10.71 with free delivery and 2.5% CB with The Book Depository.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Thu 05-Sep-13 19:26:31

Aw so glad my Charlie and the choc factory link was a hit. An absolute bargain. I cracked and opened the plastic on my copy today and was sitting playing with the pop ups all the way through my lunch. grin

Me and dd are loving Roald Dahl books at the moment, so i think this will be a much adored present for her. Wish i knew other littlies to buy a copy for though. Such a beautiful (and fun!) book.

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 19:27:54

If you want to do something different to Elf on the shelf: Christian advent calendar packs smile

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 19:57:00

Ewe I'm sure our elemis is just in the post.

Could someone be very kind and link the Charlie pop up book again? I can't seem to spot the original link.

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 19:57:42

Oooh and I was in Asda today and got a bottle of biscotti baileys for £5. Full size bottle. Mil is getting spoiled this year.

nickdrakeslovechild Thu 05-Sep-13 20:24:52

Just got back from our local tescos. I am in soooo much trouble come Christmas morning! They have a pop up shop and a pop up house both reduced to £3.75, a big trampoline reduced to £7.50, some lovely soft medium sized balls for 50p, crayola twistables special affects for £2.00, playdoh sweet jar thing reduced to £3.25. I got some other bits too but they are hiding in the car until the OH goes out and I can retrieve them. Honestly he's going to go insane.

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 20:25:42

Babyborn Interactive Star Scooter £35 down to £7.50....

No idea if RRP is correct, seems too good to be true!

nickdrakeslovechild Thu 05-Sep-13 20:27:55

Also not bargains but Christmas related Tesco had lots of Christmas chocolates in and B&M had lots of toys and Christmas cards and wrapping paper.

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 20:30:24

Do I go to Tesco, Do I go to Tesco???????? seriously sat here contemplating going to our local one 15 minutes away!

PoppyWearer Thu 05-Sep-13 20:32:10

thanks For the tip on The Gruffalo, I am building a library of my DCs' favourite books as a Christening present for a friend's baby, and am managing to do it on a shoestring thanks to Amazon's offers and this thread!

nickdrakeslovechild Thu 05-Sep-13 20:32:47

iloveholidays go go go go to tesco, serious bargains. I had the last trampoline in ours but plenty left of the other things.

joymaker Thu 05-Sep-13 20:32:55

Bluetinkerbell- thanks for posting that link, had a look and a few of them are out of stock just now (the Fair Trade chocolate ones wink). Do they only get them in close to Christmas? I assume you've bought them before, what age do you think they are best suited to? Thanks

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 20:33:41

Nick, was it all marked up?

Reastie Thu 05-Sep-13 20:36:58

I can't get to tesco until tomorrow afternoon....all the good bits will be gone by then won't they confused

No Elemis here either. I have read the mag and tbh found it a bit of a disappointment (although for £1 can't go wrong assuming my elemis arrives)

500internalerror Thu 05-Sep-13 20:39:01

Home bargains also have monsters university sleeved blankets, £3.99 (can't link on phone!)

Insomniastrikesagain Thu 05-Sep-13 20:43:24

1st post! Seems like a good deal to meal for any little people starting to learn to read...

skyeskyeskye Thu 05-Sep-13 20:45:11

My Charlie book arrived today too and it is brilliant. I see the RRP is £15 so a good bargain there. smile

Tesco is 20 miles away and DD is in bed, so dont think I will make it there for their bargains sad

joymaker haven't got a clue, came across them through Google. I'm ordering the Real Christmas Tree Advent Calendar pack smile

I'll be checking out Tesco tomorrow too, going out with DD3 and no DH in tow! wink

CatAmongThePigeons Thu 05-Sep-13 20:48:49

I have no tesco in a reasonable distance. I am gutted! Hope there's lots for everyone!

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 20:49:41

I've got another glamour offer which I think would make a good present in itself.

12 issues for £9 and a free goodie bag worth £40. I got a free goodie bag from them last year and it was good, lots of skin and hair products and nice stuff. Ideal maybe for a sil or a friend as a present?

I think it's two zeros but it could be two o's.

Same here Cat sad

nickdrakeslovechild Thu 05-Sep-13 20:58:56

iloveholidays, yes all priced up. I could of got so much, but I have run out of people to buy for now. I even got the dog an extra pressie! Didn't see the light up princess.

Thanks Rhonda I got that for my not so little sister smile

Barbeasty Thu 05-Sep-13 21:03:10

I collected my mugs from the sorting office this afternoon, and they're all good, even the squirrel. But I then got home to another red card, so I'll be back tomorrow to collect my 24 Christmas story books.

Those advent calendars look good.

confusedalways Thu 05-Sep-13 21:04:22

Got my free elemis bath milk today. Quite a generous bottle for freebie, packaging was very damaged though and unsuitable for a gift. Smells nice though grin

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 21:14:48

One for the grownups - if you spend over £75 at radley they are doing a free goody bag, it seems to be two radley nail varnishes and a radley nail file (which I can't find anywhere to buy to price up) and a radley tote bag which I think it worth about £10.

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 21:16:06

Sorry the free gift is supposed to be worth £35

nuttybean Thu 05-Sep-13 21:28:31

do you think the charlie & the chocolate pop up book would be ok for an 8yr old?
batcave here
home bargains had bop it for £9.99 today

nuttybean Thu 05-Sep-13 21:29:38
CatAmongThePigeons Thu 05-Sep-13 21:41:43

Nutty, I'm getting it for my 7 year old, his yr3 reading list includes C&tCF so I thought it'd be a different way to read it!

VoldemortsNipple Thu 05-Sep-13 21:44:51

My Elemis gift also arrived today in a slightly bashed box. I think the problem is the bottle is to heavy for the box. Anyway, is doesn't matter because I bought the other Elemis stuff from House of Fraiser and that's not in a box so they will look nice together as a set. I'm absolutely delighted with them. It's the kind of present I would like to buy dsis but i couldnt afford them full price.

I also picked up the second Zhu Zhu puppies bundle I ordered from Tesco. The large box, Fido fountain was the same as the first bundle. But it had a different dog, vehicle and clothes.

My offering from Martin Lewis money saver email today is Mary berry book reduced at the works. Can't link on phone but here is info . .

Mary Berry's "Fast Cakes"....£8.99 to £1.99 + a further 15% off code.+ £2.99 deliv.
Official MoneySavingExpert insert: The Works has confirmed Mary Berry's Fast Cakes book is £1.99 and available in most stores and online (delivery's £2.99), while stocks last. Apparently stock's healthy, though call ahead before making a special trip to a store.

The Works has confirmed the code AUTUMN15, posted by mwjmum gets you 15% off and is valid until Mon 30 Sep. The code PAYDAY20, posted by the OP doesn't seem to be working.

This is the cheapest we’ve seen this book (next cheapest is £6.20 on Amazon), though it’s always worth doing a price comparison before buying. Thanks to scrooze247 for sharing this offer.

BuddhaBelly Thu 05-Sep-13 21:48:31

Sorry just went back to order and its out of stock already! confused

VoldemortsNipple Thu 05-Sep-13 21:53:46

Rhonda do you know if the free gift comes after they send the first issue? You can choose when you want the subscription to start so I was thinking I could get it delivered for dd starting from January but I want the free gift earlier to add to my gift stash.

nuttybean Thu 05-Sep-13 21:54:26

thanks catamoungthepigeons - i'm very tempted but wanted to get the 15 roald dahl set from the book people too. i think these kids are going to end up with loads this year!

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 21:58:24

Vold, I think it will come after the first Mag, this was a postal offer I got today (after I took out the tooth whitening kit subscription confused ). It was to tempt me back after cancelling my last sub with the goodie bag. The gift came after the first magazine then.

BeaWheesht Thu 05-Sep-13 22:01:19

Nutty - ds is turning 7 at Christmas and I'm getting him the Charlie book

chirpchirp Thu 05-Sep-13 22:02:43

The perfume shop have started putting a big box of reduced stuff at the door, picked up a bottle of Hugo XY for DH £27 down to £14. They had a few CK scents and some celebrity stuff too. Would image every store has different selection.

That can be my "something to wear" smile

VoldemortsNipple Thu 05-Sep-13 22:03:22

Thanks Rhonda, I'll just place an order from the earliest date then flowers

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 22:16:57

Blockbusters would appear to have black Nintendo 3ds on sale for £99.95.

It seems a bit too good to me but it also seems to be genuine, it's the proper bb site, and it's new ones. Looks like click and collect in store rather than delivered.

Im swithering, dd1 has her birthday two days after Christmas, she's mentioned wanting one to play the new Pokemon games, she will be 14 though!

RhondaJean Thu 05-Sep-13 22:17:35

Vold I hope you get as nice a goodie bag as I did.

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 22:28:02

Back from Tesco (Winchester store in case anyone else is planning to go there). I got...

Single swing and glider for £12.50 down from £50
Pop up play tent with tunnel for £5 down from £20
Pop up rebound football net for £3.24
Disney princess cycle helmet for £4.50 down from £18
Disney princess soft ball 50p
Disney magiclip Cinderellas Castle for £5 down from £20, however this wasn't marked up at all and the other princess castles weren't marked down so not sure if this was a price error.

I did see the pop up shop but still £15. I queried this with a member of staff who said that the clearance stuff is differently priced in different stores.

I also saw the sand and water table for £3.75.

There were also other toys with 1/3 off but can't remember any others with 75% off.

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 22:51:03

Has anyone bought the vtech kidiminiz? Are they any good? Not sure whether to get for DD1&2.

Rugbylovingmum Thu 05-Sep-13 22:59:00

Thanks Insomniastrikesagain - just ordered the Songbird books for DD1. What a great price!

Freemilk Thu 05-Sep-13 22:59:10

WOw ilove bet that made you smile (I'm wondering whether to go to Tescos again!!)

Can I ask how Sid y know the castle was reduced? Was it the only one reduced or did they have loads?

ShoopShoop Thu 05-Sep-13 23:14:17

Oooh thanks so much for the links to the nail varnish! I just need to decide what to get now...... thanks

iloveholidays Thu 05-Sep-13 23:16:57

Freemilk. It was a complete fluke to be honest, I'd picked up the scan and shop scanner. I know someone had mentioned a cinderella reduced so was scanning anything cinderella related grin

pleased with my purchases though. The sticker was ripped off the play tent and tunnel but got it for one of my girls so not worried and for £5 can't complain!!

was hoping to get a few presents but I didn't see presents for older children as such, but think a lot of stuff had gone.

Insomniastrikesagain Fri 06-Sep-13 02:34:57

Thanks Rugby, glad I posted!

I got the magazine subscription and the confirmation email had my address as payment and my sisters as delivery from jan but I got a second one detailing the goody bad Sept 13 with my address as both payment and delivery so will wait and see smile

Allyblaster Fri 06-Sep-13 08:58:23

Dotcomgiftshop has their Christmas section open - lots of stocking filler type gifts and decorations. Lots of people bought the popcorn holders for hampers last year.

IJustNeedANap Fri 06-Sep-13 09:03:43

Any gadgety ideas for men? I'm really stuck on DP. He'll pick a few things out for himself closer to Christmas but I still need to do his stocking and other presents.

Mama1980 Fri 06-Sep-13 09:04:40

Can't link sorry from iPad but argos have designabear s and many of their outfits half price or less. Just bought a cuddly monster thing plus 2 outfits for less than £9.

4yoniD Fri 06-Sep-13 09:08:26

iloveholidays my dds are age 5 and 2, and have a kiddiminiz. They have lost the carrot it is meant to follow, but it never followed it very well anyway, and it is NOT a popular toy.

I don't know what ages you have or what other toys, but my eldest is much more into zhu zhu pets and littlest pet shop.

iloveholidays Fri 06-Sep-13 09:13:16

thanks 4yo. my DDs will be 4.9 and 2.9 at Christmas. don't think I'll bother then. They get good reviews but I did wonder whether they'd be the sort of toy they'd lose interest in quickly. I just find it hard to resist a bargain

Allyblaster Fri 06-Sep-13 09:59:11

Hope Education now showing V-Tech Microphones £9:95 each grin did anyone order the pack of six?!

itsonlysubterfuge Fri 06-Sep-13 10:00:15

HenriettaPye Fri 06-Sep-13 10:08:01

And I have a screen shot of it saying 'pack of 6' and an email from hope confirming if I ordered it I would receive 6!

Will let you all know what is actually delivered...

Chockywockydoodah Fri 06-Sep-13 10:19:35

I saw the OPI crackle nail polishes in Poundland last night, as well as W7 wintry colour polishes, Sally Hansen nail kits and Calvin Klein shimmer shadows! Great cheap stocking or cracker fillers.

And not a bargain as such, but good to know that WHSmith had LOADS of different busy books in store for £7.99 (Minnie, Thomas, Dora, Disney Planes, Monsters Inc., Hello Kitty, Disney Princess, Jake & Pirates, Disney Cars) to name a few!

prettymess Fri 06-Sep-13 10:22:27

15% off Itunes vouchers in Boots.

Has anyone had their lego men soaps yet? The listing said she'd aim to post within 3 working days but it's been a week and mine hasn't been dispatched yet. There seems to be lots of feedback in the last week for receiving lego man soaps on her feedback list.

BeaWheesht Fri 06-Sep-13 10:33:00

If you buy the daily star tomorrow (I know) there's a voucher in to get a pack of play dough from smyths or toysrus

I don't know if its necessarily a bargain but tesco had sweet shop in for £10 today.

chestnut100 Fri 06-Sep-13 10:37:24

I just picked up three large crystalicious bratz dolls at tescos. Reduced from £25 to £6 each!

Mipe Fri 06-Sep-13 11:33:00

Haven't received my lego soap yet either. I do hope it will come soon as I have now ordered the t-shirt to go with it smile.

Ah that's ok then. I guess she's making millions a new batch of lego men. Was just worried mine might have got lost in the post as I've had at least one parcel go missing recently.

ballinacup Fri 06-Sep-13 11:52:44

How old is old enough for Playmobil?

I was thinking about buying DNiece and DNephew a joint present of a decent sized set (budget around £40). He'll be just 6 and she will be 2.6, is she too young?

pickofthepops Fri 06-Sep-13 11:52:54

Nuttybean, I definitely think the charlie pop up book is ok for an eight year old, enough in it for younger and older still

BeaWheesht Fri 06-Sep-13 12:09:32

Ballinacup - ds. Is 6 and dd is almost 3 so similar age gap and honestly I wouldn't buy a set to share, dd does like playmobil but loses wee bits and doesn't play with it 'properly' with it according to ds.

WaitMonkey Fri 06-Sep-13 12:15:57

ball I wouldn't buy a 2 year old playmobil, she wouldn't get anything out out of it. Much better for the 6 year old. Playmobil contains lot's of very little pieces that a 2 year old will loose, put in her mouth.

ballinacup Fri 06-Sep-13 12:18:51

Shame, as with the discount could get the pyramid delivered for less than £35... Maybe I'll get it anyway and put it away for DS in a few years time.

WaitMonkey Fri 06-Sep-13 12:29:39

If you like the look of the. pyramid, I would order it as I've read they are stopping making them soon.

LaTrucha Fri 06-Sep-13 13:10:20

I got my Elemis today. Yay! box a tiny bit bashed but not too bad. The magazine was dire though. grin

nuttybean Fri 06-Sep-13 13:10:38

Not a bargain but honest thoughts please- i popped into a cash converter type shop to have a look at the ds games as I've got the dc a new ds for Xmas so am after just a couple of games, mario karts & mario bros. was thrilled to see karts for £14.99 but they also had karts without a box, just the game. So got that instead at a fab price of £4.99 but as its a present do u think they will be disappointed? They are 6 & 8. Seemed pointless paying an extra £10 for a case they will discard anyway. Thanks

LaTrucha Fri 06-Sep-13 13:19:00

You could put inside an appropriately themed Christmas card, if something like that is available? If they question it, you could say it was a special offer and that or nothing. They'd probably prefer the disc to not having it at all.

hoppingmad Fri 06-Sep-13 13:26:28

Can you not put it in the ds ready to play?
I regularly buy 2nd hand games as gifts - the dc's know they have to wipe the saved data before they play! They have never been bothered by whether its new or not - they just want to play it smile

frazzled74 Fri 06-Sep-13 13:26:37

ballinacup, do you mind me asking where you can get the playmobil pyramid for that price?

Oreocrumbs Fri 06-Sep-13 13:33:13

I would just put it in the DS! You can buy cases to store games in like these, you can probably get character ones too. Another option would be to buy one of them and put that game in to start off the collection.

ballinacup Fri 06-Sep-13 13:33:54

frazzled the Toys R Us website has it listed for £39.99, use code 9908087729993 for £5 off a £30 spend and it's £34.99 with free delivery!

CatAmongThePigeons Fri 06-Sep-13 13:34:39

I would get a little box to store the DS games in, I hate the big clunky boxes the games come in

MooseyMoo Fri 06-Sep-13 13:37:16
frazzled74 Fri 06-Sep-13 13:40:07

thankyou, that will be good to put away for neice.

Oreocrumbs Fri 06-Sep-13 13:40:27

Ooh 2 bottles of Elemis just arrived! No magazines yet though (not that I intend to read them, but still!)

Boxes are bashed here too.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 06-Sep-13 13:41:55

Still no Elemis sad Hope they had enough to give out and I've not been forgotten about... Is it the postie who delivers it or a courier like Hermes?

LaydeeJayne Fri 06-Sep-13 13:44:17

Thanks to RhonaJean for the Glamour mag tip - have ordered that to start being delivered from December to my best friend.

nuttybean Fri 06-Sep-13 13:45:49

Thanks for the ideas. I know they won't mind, as you say they will be happy just to have the game smile

yabbadabba Fri 06-Sep-13 13:46:00

Ewe, yodel delivered my Elemis. They pushed a card through saying they had left it on the porch.

went into the works who had crazy clearance section lots of stuff for stockings stickers, glow axes and forks ( dp vetoed and said it would cause trouble, misery arse) metal bookmarks in a range of designs 25p, packs of 100 disney and spongebob stickers 59p, colouring mega packs 49p gardening dvds 25p.

ipanicked Fri 06-Sep-13 13:54:41

Penguinbeaver Fri 06-Sep-13 14:12:14
EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 06-Sep-13 14:33:23

Thanks yabba.

My elemis has just this moment been delivered by Yodel. Box is very bashed indeed, but i wasn't going to use it anyway because i have the body balm from the HOF sale to pair it up with. I'm making my mum up a little wicker hamper with beauty stuff, a yankee candle etc so just going to pop it in there.

Fantastic bargain! Thanks again for it rhondajean.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 06-Sep-13 14:37:54

Re the yankee candles.

I posted this in one of the many earlier threads, but i bought these yankee candles from a store on Ebay which has an ongoing sale. Only a few left though.

I got the Christmas Cookie Cottage for £7.50 (which comes in a cottage gift box.

A large cinammon red ribbon bundle for £10 (which comes with a wicker basket. I'm splitting the candles and using the basket as a hamper for my mum).

And a snowman tea light set for around £6 which comes with a snowman gift box.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 06-Sep-13 14:42:07

Sorry, i'm lying. I've just checked my purchase history. They weren't quite as cheap as that. The red ribbon was £10 off, so I paid £19.99. It's sold out on the above link but available for £19.99 on Amazon here.

And the snowman cost £9.99, but is also sold out. It's available on Amazon but is £14.99.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 06-Sep-13 14:46:28

Just a thought...

Do you reckon Elemis did some sort of deal with Women's fitness because the boxes were all bashed so they could no longer sell them in shops...

It seems all too good to be true that they'd send us a £40 bottle for just 99p. Not that I'm complaining. grin

2organised Fri 06-Sep-13 15:39:23

Just been to sainsburys and picked up some bargain crafty things - alphabet sponges 74p down from £2.99
Moleskine type notebooks £1.19 down from £3.99
Animal scissors 74p down from £1.49
Crayola mini stampees £1.19 down from £3.99
Crayola 16 mini supertips £1.79 down from £5.99
Lots of other things reduced including craft sets, pencil cases

I've returned home to my Magpie mugs, really pleased with them and the Elemis bath milk. My box is in perfect condition, I reckon it's crappy Yodel tbh

Reastie Fri 06-Sep-13 15:44:08

My elemis arrived this afternoon and also battered. Feel sad I didn't buy the HoF stuff to go with it now. DO you think it will matter as a gift just as it is not in a box? ewe yes I wonder that too...

Picked up squinkies from tesco in the OP today and really pleased with them as very good value for the price and they come packaged as 4 separate products so can easily use as 4 gifts not one.

Reastie can you get a Cellophane bag and tie it with a ribbon? I think it'll be fine on it's own tbh.

MooseyMoo Fri 06-Sep-13 16:00:41

Squinkies Palace Surprise for £6.90 from The Entertainer (can also buy through Amazon).

CatAmongThePigeons Fri 06-Sep-13 16:01:51

I added up how much the stuff I have received already has cost. £120 just for the two DS. Oh lordy, I am obsessed.

I think this will be the Christmas I spend the most money on! shock Although I haven't bought anything close to the RRP and that feels good

Elainey1609 Fri 06-Sep-13 16:07:27

Another thread cant believe it
I need to check up on here more often
lets see how many we get through

Elainey1609 Fri 06-Sep-13 16:13:15

Hope it helps someone

Chockywockydoodah Fri 06-Sep-13 16:25:24

With regard to dented Elemis boxes, I've seen the way our Yodel driver throws parcels and packages around in the back of his van (they were all jumbled up, not neatly stacked) and he even stepped on (and crushed) parcels to get to those at the back. I was horrified at the thought of someone's things being ruined through his carelessness. It has put me off buying goods delivered by Yodel carriers since seeing that. Obvs. not all drivers are going to be like that, but still! shock

FriskyHenderson Fri 06-Sep-13 16:43:58

Oh those Telegraph seeds will do nicely!

I'm kind of tempted by the Playmobil pyramid but I already have the school which I know is going to irritate me greatly when it comes to assemble the 1456 pieces on Christmas Evegrin

Can someone please tell me not to get Squinkies, my ddcs are totally uninterested, I have no one I want to give them to but they are such a good bargain.......!

Still really wanting the magpie mugs too

raisah Fri 06-Sep-13 17:28:34

Freemilk - why don't you donate the Squinkies to the salvation army christmas gift appeal. They run it every December and it goes to kids from less fortunate families so it will be appreciated & treasured. You can donate directly to the SA church or they have collection points in shops/malls. Last year superdrug collected for them.

For anyone after the Magpie mugs and not wanting to pay postage, my local Debenhams had loads in the clearance section today. Lots of letters available, and 70% off, down to about £2.70.

I collected my Squinkies today and very pleased with them. I'm hoping they will do a boy bundle at some point.

Hello all, a lurker here. Thank you for all your tips, I have ordered a playmobile pet clinic from Argos for dd2.

I have a very small bargain that might be a stocking filler. Sainsburys have half price toothbrushes that flash for a minute as a timer. I bought a moshi monster one and hello kitty one. They're only £1.24 and I gave them to my two dds tonight who both instantly went to clean their teeth (unheard of in my house).

PoppyWearer Fri 06-Sep-13 18:19:10

Got my Elemis Milk Bath today, box also bashed but it's for me so I don't mind! grin

I reckon it's old stock, slightly older packaging.

If anyone got it for a mum-to-be then pair it with either the Camellia Oil or Frangipani Oil and you have a veeeeeery nice gift!

LaTrucha Fri 06-Sep-13 18:28:51

Ok bargain humters - see if anything grabs your fancy here. It's Debenhams 50-70% off plus an extra 20% of with CY72. I'm afraid it doesn't work on the 'experience' day gifts. I already tried. Somem nice toys though.

But there's quite a wide variety which should sort some tricky men out - including blue or black with the superman logo, a black one with ask me about my father written on it - and then they can pull it over their head to show a Darth Vader mask that's been printed on the inside, an evolution of the Sith or of alien ones, one with the flux capacitor thing printed on it, more star wars and star trek ones and loads that reference films I've never heard of but I'm sure are beloved by people cooler than myself grin

Anyhow there are 66 of them on the offer so [[{655107}%2bc{470}%2b&cpage=1 plenty of choice].

Bah. went to sainsburys today and tescos and didn't spot any of the amazing deals people have found sad - other than 25p shades for car windows (which I have now discovered are only for when the car is not being driven, probably explains why there was a whole box) and a 42p book light but it's a Rolson one rather than a little fancy thing so ds1 will probably get it. Oh and there was a Deadly 60 big safari set for £7.50 instead of £22.99 DS1 has been desperate for this for ages but I've always resisted as at full price reviews have always said it is over priced and doesn't have much in but I figure that at £7.50 it's in a nice big box and he'll be thrilled when he opens it - even it's just for the steve backshall figure that comes with it that can be played iwth all the other stuff he has!

Regarding the design a bear outfits in argos - does anyone know if they also fit the build a bear bears?

All the Christmas chocolates were being put out in Tesco this morning - shelves full of Roses, Heroes and Quality Street, currently a fiver.

Costco also has loads of their christmas stuff in. They have fab wrapping paper - nearly £8 for 50m of really good quality reversible paper. I bought some 3 years ago but still haven't used anywhere close to half of it but I still bought another roll as I liked the design and fancied being able to ring the changes this year. I know £8 sounds a lot for wrapping paper but it works out at less than 16p/m which is cheaper than most supermarket's paper and is much better quality.

THey also have loads of their christmas toys in now but I was in a hurry so didn't have time to look at prices.

joymaker Fri 06-Sep-13 20:53:21

ilove re the 20 classic books are they faithful to the tranditional stories or quite contemporary/changed? Was thinking of getting some

PoppyWearer Fri 06-Sep-13 20:58:45

joymaker some of them like Gingerbread Man and The Emperors New Clothes are faithful to the originals but others like Alice and Pinocchio don't completely work in a short format. But my 5yo is none-the-wiser and loves them. I personally think they are great value and they have sorted many bedtime stories for us.

iloveholidays Fri 06-Sep-13 21:04:03

joymaker I've not read the books I'm afraid, just had a nose in the box. Someone else asked this question though and someone replied saying they were traditional apart from the ending of little red riding hood where the wolf was filled with stones! I've read this version before, think they are Usbourne.

I can have a look tomorrow though as need to consolidate as I am running out of room to store stuff grin

PoppyWearer Fri 06-Sep-13 21:12:38

I've just had a little peek at Little Red Riding Hood and yes, the wolf is filled with stones at the end. And the picture has him saying "yuck, Brussels sprout soup again" so there are little touches like that but the story itself is fairly true.

I think it's fair to say that they veer away from death/violence (The Little Mermaid returns to the waves "forever").

PoppyWearer Fri 06-Sep-13 21:30:36

Not sure if I dare mention this, but Amazon and Argos have Little Gadget, Gadget the Robot's Little brother down to £7.99.

WithConfidence Fri 06-Sep-13 21:34:54

Wolf filled with stones is a traditional ending. I remember it from when I was little, it is so that the wolf can be drowned! A lot of fairy tales were told and retold orally so there are many variations.

Thanks Poppy I've ordered the mini gadget, my DD has the big one even though she's to young and loves him so I hope this will make a good present for one of the many kids I have to buy for.

The helicopter that I think Oreo linked to came today, I'm pleased with it but it looks very delicate which means that it might last very long I will put bets on it that DP crashes and breaks it Christmas Day

So how do I cancel my fitness magazine subscription? The website really doesn't give any helpful information away.

Littlemousewithcloggson Sat 07-Sep-13 00:00:00

Did everyone who got squinkies get what was in the picture? I ordered 3 sets, (one by mistake) and 2 are identical but the other set has got a campervan instead of the horse and carriage wedding set. Not too fussed as is actually very nice and the 3rd set was going to be split down for presents anyway but thought it was a bit naughty of tesco as not what described!

joymaker Sat 07-Sep-13 00:00:38

Poppy ilove and WithC Thanks for your feedback on the 20 classic books

I got my Elemis bath milk yesterday; the box was a bit bashed but I think that is from where it was chucked over my back gate!

I missed out on the bath milk at house of fraser, but have looked on ebay - there are lots of new Elemis products on there at reasonable prices. I'm going to get something in the skin nourishing range to make up a gift set.

Oreocrumbs Sat 07-Sep-13 08:24:40
Reastie Sat 07-Sep-13 08:54:23

I read the instructions for usage on the elemis bath milk - it says to use 80 mls per bath. 80mls??!!!!!

Who measures their bath stuff confused

Just wanted to let people know my Spicery stuff arrived this morning and I'm a bit disappointed. 3 of the items have short dates on (2 are Sept 2013 and one is Dec 2013). This is despite me checking beforehand that they would have a long enough date on and buying the full price packs. I have emailed them about it. Hoping they'll send some replacements with a longer date on.

Reastie Sat 07-Sep-13 10:11:33

Also spotty who reads the instruction leaflet with their bath milk blush

Brockle Sat 07-Sep-13 10:24:09

don't know how to post links but the little vtech robot little gadget is down to 8 pounds on amazon. ds3 will only be 13 months but couldn't resist!

Saying £15 on mine (or thereabouts)

Brockle Sat 07-Sep-13 10:41:28

if you click on new and used it comes up as 7.99. I have never seen amazon do that before.

Oh that's interesting isn't it. I know amazon have been trying to get third party sellers to sign up to their orders being fulfilled by amazon maybe something to do with that

iloveholidays Sat 07-Sep-13 12:01:23

just picked up my tesco bundles and very happy. only peeped in the box as DD decided to come to the door but look good. we have the carriage though

They've none left near me sad

Oh they've got one in Guildford doubt I can persuade dp to go up there tomorrow though...

I've just been into tesco and they have cloud baby dolls reduced from £18 to £9.

Tempted to get one for dd2 but I hate cloud babies so might regret it!

itsonlysubterfuge Sat 07-Sep-13 12:48:01

VTech V.Smile V-Motion Dora the Explorer - Dora's Fix-It Adventure seems like a good deal at £3.26, was £19.97 at Tesco. My daughter is only 1 though, so I'm not up to date with all the big kid toys grin.

Did anyone else get a random women's fitness two week fat loss book this morning?

I got one, no explanation no paperwork, it better not be a replace for my elemus as I ordered before any of you. Twice.

CatAmongThePigeons Sat 07-Sep-13 13:08:58

I've found no deals here as I've been at tennis club, but DS1 has been invited to a party next week, the friend apparently loves Lego Star Wars, so I am on the look out for any deals- if anyone finds one, could you let me know? TY. smile

No dressing gowns in pretty much all of central Scotland hmm
One of these Argos deals where's there's two left in the UK and spotty has found one of them wink

grin I might reserve it just in case!

Rhonda I've not received a book from them. Maybe you should email them?

iloveholidays Sat 07-Sep-13 14:01:10

itsonlysubterfuge Sat 07-Sep-13 14:03:34

Bliss 'Glow' -ho-ho Gift Set £18.00 down from £60.00 at Debenhams.

Rugbylovingmum Sat 07-Sep-13 14:05:42

Thanks itsonlysubterfuge - just managed to reserve the last one at our local store for DD2. DD1 has a red star dressing gown she wears after the bath and DD2 loves it but she goes straight into sleeping bag and into bed atm (she gets too grumpy otherwise, tired out after bathtime). By xmas she'll be ready for the dressing gown and stories before bed so this is fab.

PoppyWearer Sat 07-Sep-13 14:13:51
