Just ordered 24 star cookie cutters, 10 gingerbread man ones for £4 from Asda. They are for my Kitchen Christmas Tree.
Asda keep stuff for 14 days IsThatTrue

NeverQuiteSure · 08/10/2013 09:34

JustBecauseICan - the Open University website says this about the seasons posters: We have had reports of some Internet Explorer users having problems with our automated poster order form. We're working to fix this; in the meantime, you try using a different browserExternal link , such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Alternatively, you can also order by calling 0845 271 0017 (local rate)

I used Chrome which worked fine, but didn't show a preview of the poster. I had a search around and here is a picture of the poster for anyone else experiencing the same problem.

I will hopefully be getting a little mermaid print for DD and now DS will have something he'll love too. Thanks Isaac

AliceinSlumberland - are you using a mobile device/tablet on the Internet Gift Store? I tried to order on my iphone and nothing came up. I used Chrome on a computer in the end, although I did have some problems with it giving me the free delivery initially. Clearing the cookies from my internet history helped, for some unknown reason! I then clicked the link to sign up to the newsletter on the first page, registered for an account then added shopping to the basket. At the checkout there was a 'like this and save 50p' button, which I did, then I added the 10% discount code from up thread and, voilà, it worked.

Finally, I had a reply back from Amazon about the possibly German Minecraft handbook, and... they don't know either! They have referred it on and will get back to me.

notso · 08/10/2013 09:37

Bloodsocks not sure if it's what your looking for but when Dd had to wear makeup for dancing around that age I bought Boots Natural collection. It's on 3 for £5 online at the moment. I usually buy a makeup bag from Primark and fill it with bits and bobs for Dd. Also Argos usually have cheap earrings.

Barbeasty · 08/10/2013 09:44

Bloodsocks have a look at Make Up Academy (mua) in Superdrug. It starts from £1 and was recommended to me when I asked for suggestions for my teenage niece on the style board on here.

It looks really nice, and they have some nice neutral sets of eyeshadow etc.

VeeAndTea · 08/10/2013 09:44

You can cancel the minecraft book, it's only pre-order so they won't have taken the money yet anyway.

giraffeseatpineapples · 08/10/2013 09:54

Sorry more advice please Smile Does anyone know the best plan for ds games. My DS wants Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed; it is on pre order for £16.99. Should I order it or wait for the christmas clubcard thing at tesco? Do Tesco put games on the clubcard exchange? [Thanks]

iloveholidays · 08/10/2013 10:02

Oreo, I can't get that Crabtree link to work and struggling to find those solid perfumes, sound ideal for DD1s stocking. Thank you :)

VeeAndTea · 08/10/2013 10:08

ilove, I got it working and have ordered an iris one. hold up perfumes have gone though

JustBecauseICan · 08/10/2013 10:09

For Nintendo games etc I'd hang fire until the last minute, especially for new ones. In the run up to Christmas Amazon etc will knock stuff down. If you dare risk it and it's not vitally important. Last year (or poss year before) dd wanted some Harry Potter game, which was showing at £29 until about 15th December when I got it for £11.

jamtoast12 · 08/10/2013 10:12

Hi anyone any ideas for a fun gift for my nephew age 12? I give him money so I only need something for around £5 to go with it but bored of getting him a lynx set! Thanks!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/10/2013 10:12

The Crabtree solid perfume is out of stock now, ilove. I want some for DD, but apparently they sell it in H&M and Primark.

iloveholidays · 08/10/2013 10:13

Oh thanks Vee

giraffeseatpineapples · 08/10/2013 10:32

Thanks justbecaueIcan - it is one of only 3 presents he asked for but I think I can hold my nerve for a better deal, we have a game shop near us so can always do a dash there just before if necc.

Thanks abbieangel too for advice re letterbox

3birthdaybunnies · 08/10/2013 10:32

Thisisme thinking of giving nephew a cookery book - encourage him to move out of dsis house, and the promise of impressing the girls. Just need isaac to find us a bargainous one.

JustBecauseICan · 08/10/2013 10:35

Some of the Jamie Oliver ones were cheap on Book People. Jamie's dinners/Ministry of Food or 15 minute thingy would be good for making a nephew leave home Grin

izzybizzybuzzybees · 08/10/2013 11:06

I'm so disappointed. Been manically searching for sylvanian homes and comparing them all. I found a great deal on one in argos but it's our of stock everywhere near me :-(

IHeartKingThistle · 08/10/2013 11:09

Where are you? This is the sort of challenge we like!

CoffeeOne · 08/10/2013 11:16

SHIT. Ladies who did the free gifts with the magazine subscriptions for Cosmo and Company - I cancelled my direct debit after the first payment and emailed them to say I was cancelling, I've just got this email;

"Thank you for your recent email.

Our policy is for the subscriptions to run for a minimum of 12 months before a cancellation may be actioned. You will therefore need to contact your bank to cancel the direct debit instructions for you.

If you decide to cancel your direct debit instructions for Cosmopolitan and Company before the minimum term then we do require the return of the gifts in the condition they were received to the following address;

Hearst Magazines UK
FREEPOST MID21595
Market Harborough
LE16 7BR

I do hope this answers your query."

Can they do this? Did it say anywhere in the small print?!

Willemdefoeismine · 08/10/2013 11:18

Oh dear CoffeeOne - perhaps they've 'twigged' as to what is going on...Hmm - magazine espionage?

3birthdaybunnies · 08/10/2013 11:20

izzy the argos app is quite good for checking stock in about 10 stores but the reduced house seems to be out of stock near us too. You could try searching near relatives/friends houses.

ShoopShoop · 08/10/2013 11:23

Morning all - my DD's enchanted doorway has arrived and it's so cute :)

Anyone got any good deals on port and Stilton hampers to send to DAunt & DUncle? Around the £25-£30 mark delivered if at all possible. I've seen the M&S one but was wondering if anyone had any better offers / ideas?

Thanks
Rockchick1984 · 08/10/2013 11:24

Coffee just checked the T's & C's and it says it can be cancelled at any time in the trial period, nothing about returning the freebies. Email them and ask to see where it said that?

CrazyTink · 08/10/2013 11:24

Kindle arrived!! Excellent service from amazon using the prime free trial for delivery!

About the magazine subscription all I saw In the terms was you could cancel at any time during the trial period?
