girlwiththeyellowhats do we have any news yet?

Fifth thread already, how did that happen?! I?ve booked our panto tickets now so am feeling very festive Grin . Tips I learnt from the last thread number 24837 - wrap a huge cardboard box in christmas gift wrap to put all the rubbish on christmas day in rather than a bin bag so you don?t get a black plastic sack in all of the photos

Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

Not really a Xmas bargain but Clarks have got 20% off adult styles until tomorrow with BSAVE.

I've just bought these boots for £64 with free delivery, not bad for knee high leather boots I reckon. Not all sizes available though.

muchostinky · 05/09/2013 11:25

Got my Elemis freebie this morning from Women's Fitness magazine. If anyone else's was packaged the same as mine then you may not be able to give it as a gift.

It was in a very lightly padded envelope, so the box is very squashed and bashed. I know it was only a freebie, but I was giving it to my Mum to bulk up her pressie.

DangerousMouse · 05/09/2013 11:33

I missed a parcel this morning, I'll bet it was my robot!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2013 11:47

dinosaurs book £1.50 something about underpants Grin

JustBecauseICan · 05/09/2013 11:50

muchostinky- just coming on to say the same. The bath milk is ginormous, 400ml, but a very second hand jiffy bag, box completely squashed. Was delivered by scary looking yodel driver who I actually thought was the scrap metal merchant who has been emptying a house up the road Grin

I will still give it as a present, but abandon the box which is bashed out of all recognition. I would be complaining if I'd paid money for it...but as it is.......Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 05/09/2013 11:52

I haven't got mine yet but if the box is crappy I might get a cellophane bag and tie with a bow Smile

IJustNeedANap · 05/09/2013 11:54

Thanks Oreo I've brought it for DP

craftynclothy · 05/09/2013 12:33

sameoldIggi I asked The Spicery about their subscriptions and packs and expiry dates. Got this reply:
"Thanks for your email. Our subscription and gift vouchers have no expiry date on them so can be redeemed at any time. Our Spicery Packs and Kits have a shelf life of approximately 12 months, unless they are sale items in which case they have shorter dates, normally between 2 and 4 months. Any other queries, please get in touch."

ProtectiveMother · 05/09/2013 12:46

Thanks to all and keep em coming especially Lego, technic, towel dressing gowns and scooters :-)

I have ordered Collins 3-5 and Stick man so far. Wanted mugs too but postage to me outside GB too much :-)

sniffywhiff · 05/09/2013 12:48

Could anyone help with ideas for two people?

MIL - lovely, very young for age, very 'European', will need something she can take back on hand luggage. Will need a few things really.

Friend - bit like me, which should make it easier, doesn't like 'girly' things, like stuff with a bit of individuality. I'm reading the list of ideas above to see how I would respond to them as gifts which gives me a notion of how she would, and there's nothing so far . . .

They are very tricky Hmm . . .

Also, cheapest place for Kindles (basic as for child) - any ideas on that one?

Thank you!

ProtectiveMother · 05/09/2013 13:00

My contribution is Oliver Jeffers 'How to catch a star.' The best children's book EVER! Half price on amazon at £3.46 :-)

SarahAndFuck · 05/09/2013 13:01

The BOOK PEOPLE have hardback copies of Where my wellies take me by Michael Morpurgo for £3.99 and it's £9.49 on Amazon.

Now all I need to do is go back and find the codes for free delivery etc. I knew I should have been making notes Grin

heymammy · 05/09/2013 13:06

I have a 25% code for River Island through my Elle subscription but won't use it, their stuff is just too young trendy for me Grin

It's a one time code though so if anyone wants it please just pm me. Valid 4 sep to 6 oct

VeeAndTea · 05/09/2013 13:06

sniffy, how about a kobo? WH Smiths do lots of deals on it.

janx · 05/09/2013 13:09

Home Bargain still had the Harry Potter lego books with little figure for £2.99- hurrah! Also lego batman and Star Wars - can't link as on phone but really nice and barginous!
Also nice coloured glass bottles for 79p that would be good to make flavoured vodkaGrin

sameoldIggi · 05/09/2013 13:10

crafynclothy. Thanks so much for that, helps me decide what to so Smile. It's odd that elsewhere on the site it talks about the secret being the freshness of the spices - yet they last for a year!
Have realised the discount doesn't work on the boxes, just the subscription, so no reason to buy it just yet.

sniffywhiff · 05/09/2013 13:21

Have PMed you heymammy as that would be so useful - thank you!

sniffywhiff · 05/09/2013 13:22

Is a kobo the same as a Kindle vee? Do you just download from Amazon?

AllThatGlistens · 05/09/2013 13:28

Fabulous thread, I've had the Lego soaps, pirate book and a ton of aftershave samples ordered Grin

VeeAndTea · 05/09/2013 13:33

Sniffy, no but you download from the kobo store and through smiths, plus the internet is far better than on the kindle I have a kindle, dh has a pocket kobo and he loves it. I got it for his fathers day present and its the best present ever.

sniffywhiff · 05/09/2013 13:35

Thanks vee - really wanted one that he could use all his amazon vouchers up on as they seem to get wasted on rubbish every birthday . . .

VeeAndTea · 05/09/2013 13:38

Ah, ok. The kindle is awesome. I'd be lost without mine.

heymammy · 05/09/2013 13:45

Code sent sniffy Smile

MooseyMoo · 05/09/2013 13:46

sameoldiggi I'm so sorry, I forgot to reply to your question. I saw it at 5.15am and was going to check dates on recent packs I've bought. I bought some spice packs (Memphis BBQ pork was one of them) which go out of date March 2014.

heymammy · 05/09/2013 13:48

For your friend, sniffy, is she a reader? www.literarygiftcompany.co.uk/ have some quirky things if she's that way inclined!
