girlwiththeyellowhats do we have any news yet?

Fifth thread already, how did that happen?! I?ve booked our panto tickets now so am feeling very festive Grin . Tips I learnt from the last thread number 24837 - wrap a huge cardboard box in christmas gift wrap to put all the rubbish on christmas day in rather than a bin bag so you don?t get a black plastic sack in all of the photos

Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

I've been struggling with what to put in DS1's advent calenday this year, he'll be 4.6. DS2 has finger puppets, he'll be 2.4.
Then your comments of ebay and perfume samples gave me a rather randomly related brainwave. Bundles of lego minifigures! Have managed to get a bundle of 9 mixed figures for 3.19 including postage, as he doesn't have any yet (just reached lego age!) I don't have to worry about duplicates Grin

And no doubt the lovely weather is a good thing but I have a marvellous pair of cashmere pj 's that arrived today so could autumn turn up please.

Neeko · 04/09/2013 21:38

Hello *Buddha• Smile Hope you're well I am quite addicted to these threads!

Am I the only one who does a Cadbury chocolate advent calendar from somewhere like Asda?!

Oreocrumbs · 04/09/2013 21:41

Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue set £18 and Accessorize nail wardrobe £5 (currently on sale for £10 on accessorize site). Free del until 10th sept on all orders from superdrug.

Leilandri · 04/09/2013 21:50

Neeko my Dh's grandparents buy those choc advent calendars for my boys, so I open them and put the chocs into their nice wooden Xmas advent trees!! In fairness I used to manage a charity shop, and these advent trees came in 4 years before I was even ttc! I originally bought them to give to my friends' children, but I decided to keep them. So glad that I finall get to use them!! Grin

lazzaroo · 04/09/2013 21:53

If you are ordering from Superdrug, check out their 'free gifts' tab. It's not that obvious but they have quite a few free gifts. Some are related to specific purchases but others, like this toiletry bag, seem to be free with any purchase (if my tired eyes are reading it right!)....

lazzaroo · 04/09/2013 21:55

Ignore me...my eyes aren't working! They are all linked to specific purchases I think.

BumpKitty · 04/09/2013 22:09

my mugs arrived today from magpie and they are both lovely - I can't see why they are seconds - and they come in really nice gift boxes. I also ordered the ABC cardboard suitcases from magpie (reduced to £10) and they are really nice too, I'm thinking of splitting them and putting crafty bits and bobs in for SIL and a couple of friends.

runningincircles · 04/09/2013 22:22

Thanks Oreo just ordered 2 nail wardrobes. I'm nearly sorted for the kids and ladies. Just lots of gifts to get for hard to buy for men. Oh what to get?!?

Freemilk · 04/09/2013 22:35

Not worry autumn is coming, I finally caved in today and bought the sand and water table from Tesco today after walking past it for about 3 weeks so I pdict the temp will plummet any day now!!
If someone can please tell me why, after I had specifically told my kids not to mix the sand and water they did just that and then proceeded to chuck handfuls of it at the wheelie bins making everything filthy I would be pleased
And if they can tell me what an appropriate punishment is I would also be pleased, current one is to confiscate the playmobil specials they bought with the £2 my Mother gave them for weeding her garden

It is not as if I havnt told them how to behave 1,000,000 times already.

So in Tesco I got the amazing Cinderella sparkling twinkle doll for £7 so thanks so much who posted that, there were none on the shelves so I hunted high and low and eventually found one hidden on the top shelf in another part of the shop so i reckon either a staff member or some other shopper had popped it up there for later.
Sand and water table was 3.75, sand 1.75, (fills the table several times over so that's a bargain.
Playmobil specials £2, quite a few different sorts, circus trainer, knight, boy with dune buggy type car, archer, zoo type guy
Got try Disney cakes and sweets mag for me for 99p as a little treat, found a skylanders tee for £3 Disney princess sock 5 pack for 1.50 so all in all a successful trip (except for the kids behaviour!!)

I am however very cross with myself to have missed out on the Mand S cashmere and silk pjs!!

Ordered a couple of things for the kids in the sale and they have done their usual trick of cancelling half the order!

They also still have crayola crayons and felt tips on offer in Asda and Sainsburys and had some school maths type stuff (calculators, protractors etc) for half price.

Still resisting the magpie stuff but rewlly only just, looked at it with one of the dcs earlier and he was trying to persuade me to order the whole alphabet plus a couple of extra es for good measure Grin

Freemilk · 04/09/2013 22:37

Oh does anyone have an idea what kind of search words would be good for the samples I have tried and just come up with a mass of stuff that is hard to sort through.

RhondaJean · 04/09/2013 22:39

Omg I'm addicted to ordering free samples now...
At least the credit card isn't hurting.

I'm doing aftershaves for DH but I think I might spend tomorrow night ordering bundles of perfumes for dd1?

slp123 · 04/09/2013 22:50

Has anyone got a free delivery code for the book people?
Thank you

ShoopShoop · 04/09/2013 22:54

I'm on the lookout for a Nails Inc discount code or cheap Nails Inc polishes if anyone has seen any around. I make my own crackers and want a few bottles of naice polish to put in cracker for very fussy label conscious DSis and DMum Hmm Grin.

ShoopShoop · 04/09/2013 22:56

Should be crackers....plural. I usually do around 3 per person to spread out over Christmas lunch and Boxing Day. [rod for own back emoticon]

PoppyWearer · 04/09/2013 22:57

Shoop Fragrances Direct had Essie nail polish for £1.99 a few weeks ago.

Theonlyoneiknow · 04/09/2013 22:59

THANKS might work for free delivery at the book people, it did for me recently

PoppyWearer · 04/09/2013 23:00

Essie Nail Polish £1.99

BeaWheesht · 04/09/2013 23:07

Well I've finally caved and ordered the Charlie and re chocolate factory pop up book am v excited

Just reserved an angry birds 'head warmer' aka a hat for £3.99 at argos too. Sorry can't link as phone playing up.

VoldemortsNipple · 04/09/2013 23:15

Freemilk, I used a selection of phrases including, samples, women's samples, perfume samples, makeup samples toiletries samples. I also looked for 3ml samples (which are dearer but usually perfume in little bottles instead of vials) I also tried travel size, which gave me loads of new items including 6 Molton Brown miniatures for around £7·50 and 3 Dior eye creams for £2·50. I want to have a few bigger samples mixed in to keep it interesting.

I can't believe my little advent calendar idea has been so successful. [Smile] and I can't believe how many samples of face cream and shampoo I keep finding in the back of drawers!

joymaker · 05/09/2013 00:51

chirp the ikea spice rack looks like an exceedingly good idea. How many books are you roughly managing to comfortably fit in each rack?

MooseyMoo · 05/09/2013 06:29

Right, Gap have a 30% off for VIP only. I have four unique codes, so if anyone needs one, please PM me.
