Chicken pox question. One of my DT's woke up this morning with blistery spots on his tummy, groin, bum and face. Pretty sure it is chicken pox. He seems fine with it not itching yet - does that happen later ?

What creams lotions are good to help wit irriation, itching etc ?
I have heard camomile teabags in a cool bath can help but I am otherwise clueless.
TIA Smile

You deserve a lazy day mavis good the little man is sleeping.

Whenisitmysleepytime · 06/08/2012 15:49

Mavis you must continue doing nothing for as long as your ds let's you! Step away from the washing! :)

Seriously I think we are all owed some r&r after the pox!

Whenisitmysleepytime · 07/08/2012 08:21

How did everyone sleep? Was thinking of the poorly poxers.

Dd is very itchy - she was up at 1, 2, 3, 5. Each time rubbing he ace and feet against something. The scabs are coming off v fast now leaving little red blotches. I'm feeling fairly hopeful that the redness will fade and she might escape major scarring. :)
Ds was also up at 11 and 12 with a wet bed and a list monkey so I did not get a lot of sleep last night.

Hope everyone was a bit luckier with sleep than me!

ValiumQueen · 07/08/2012 08:25

What is a list monkey? Sorry you had a bad night.

Whenisitmysleepytime · 07/08/2012 08:40

Sorry - lost monkey. Ds' precious and favourite cuddly that must go everywhere.

ValiumQueen · 07/08/2012 11:06

Oh dear. A lost monkey. I can imagine. I trust monkey was found safe and sound.

Mavis - what you're doing sounds exactly what I do when someone is sick/ teething/ bloody knackered! So a perfectly reasonable breakfast! :)

I've noticed today dd is teething so that might explain some of the night waking. Back onto the drugs for her!

I'm sure we will all get a decent sleep at some point?!? Confused

WhereMyMilk · 07/08/2012 23:14

Hoping all get a better night...

Poor DS. Seems in lots of pain. Cries when you touch him, and picking him up results in a ear piercing scream :(

Even cries with the massage with poxclin now.

We had more today too-when do they stop coming? Day 5 now.

I just want it to stop. Feel a bit sick with lack of sleep. Had to type some letters for DH earlier, and lord knows what invoices I've sent :o

Whenisitmysleepytime · 08/08/2012 19:23

How's he doing milk? Did you see the dr about possible infection?
He sounds v similar to dd - she couldn't bear to be touched for a while too. :(

Hope today's been better!

Evening fellow poxers!

Well, we have turned the corner :)

The a/b's have undoubtably helped. His neck is now a normal size, as is his little face. Still v itchy but knows not to scratch and comes and tells me that he needs a bath/massage/medicine if he feels scratchy! Still v sore though.

He seems very frail though and so fatigued :(. Only manages small activities before requesting a sofa cuddle, which is the bit I like! Not really eating yet bless him.

Fingers crossed for a night's sleep-nearly did 5hours last night so have BIG hopes :o
