Hoping for my VBAC but 40+12 so come in for induction. Because of previous CS, no prostin. They've just broken my waters - MW couldn't do it as cervix posterior so consultant came, gave me gas & air to use, tugged cervix forward and broke them!

Now just waiting to see if contractions start!

Hi SES. Very excited to see things are happening for you! Hope to see you on the postnatal thread soon!!!! Good luck!

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 08/06/2012 23:35

aha, found you!

i thought I would have missed it... sorry forr you that i haven't and you are still there.

if it is any consolation, I diod nothing for ages... lots of those tightenings and uncomfortable contractions and only 1 cm dilated.... then it all kicked off suddenly...

heres hoping things get going soon...

naturalbaby · 08/06/2012 23:42

Wow, what a long day you're having! I hope you're getting a bit of rest inbetween the VE's and monitoring to keep you going?

Am turning in for the night but will be checking when one of our DC's wakes us up at the crack of dawn.

SESthebrave · 08/06/2012 23:50

You are all lovely :)

MW been talking to me about what happens if no progress at next VE at midnight. Waters were broken just after 1pm, drip started 4pm, contractions since 5pm. She reckons if no progress I'll be headed for a CS.
That would be really disappointing after insisting on my VBAC. If it has to happen, it has to happen...

eeek

I feel odd replying knowing that ... well there is a ve going on...[squeamish]

will be your fault if I fall on the stairs after trying to go to bed with legs crossed... Wink

gingercurl · 09/06/2012 00:05

Come on,babySES. Praying things will start kicking in properly.

MirandaWest · 09/06/2012 00:09

Am thinking of you and hoping baby is here v soon :)

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/06/2012 00:10

Hope things are moving along SES, I am crossing my legs in sympathy and for luck :)

DairyNips · 09/06/2012 00:14

Fingers crossed for youSmile

SESthebrave · 09/06/2012 00:15

Absolutely no change :(

Registrar lovely again and reassured that if it was a normal induction (not VBAC) they'd have used prostin and stronger drip and I would more than likely have been in established labour by now.

Very disappointing but she said the chances were that it would just take too long to leave me trying.

There's one other lady about to have her CS and then it's my turn. I guess at least I'll be meeting our new LO soon.

oh. Sad

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/06/2012 00:20

Oh SES :(

On the bright side I had attempted VBAC in Feb which ended up in EMCS (malposition again like first time), I was :( at first, but I have a lovely baby girl whose smiles light up my day. However they arrive, they are still our gorgeous babies x

SESthebrave · 09/06/2012 00:24

Thank you. Zhen - that's v true. Just frustrated that my body won't do what it's meant too. Grrr!!!

lastboxoftampons · 09/06/2012 00:26

Ses I know you imagined it differently but your baby will be here so soon! Today will be his/her birthday! I can't wait to hear your news!!!

gingercurl · 09/06/2012 00:27

So sorry, SES. Prayers going for safe delivery whatever the method. Glad they are lookng after you well.

MrsHoolie · 09/06/2012 00:28

De-lurking.
Not long now til you have your Bundle!
I have had 2 sections (both emcs).
It is extremely frustrating when your body doesn't do what it should do. I never got past 4cm either time and the first time I had synto, active labour etc etc. there is only so much you can do.

You have done your best, and have made the right decisions for yourself.

SESthebrave · 09/06/2012 00:29

Thanks LBOT and yes, DH is very pleased with the date :)

BabylannShallFall · 09/06/2012 00:31

Good luck SES :)

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/06/2012 00:31

Don't beat yourself up, everybody always bangs on about natural birth and that our bodies were made to birth, but being a mum is not about the birth, that is a fraction of you and your child's life, it is what happens after the birth that is important.

Plus if you end up with a CS your fanjo will be in a much better state afterwards Wink

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/06/2012 00:34

Oh just noticed it is my brother's birthday today too, a godd day to be born :)

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/06/2012 00:34

SESthebrave · 09/06/2012 00:37
