Hoping for my VBAC but 40+12 so come in for induction. Because of previous CS, no prostin. They've just broken my waters - MW couldn't do it as cervix posterior so consultant came, gave me gas & air to use, tugged cervix forward and broke them!

Now just waiting to see if contractions start!

SESthebrave · 08/06/2012 17:42

Oh hello! Is it really strange to say in a v abstract way that this is a bit like a wedding with all my friends from various places threads :)

cupcake - I will eventually join the May post natal thread!

Millie - hope all good with you

This is all very random - only on MN!

Cant - there's mild tightenings about 3 in 10 mins but still hardly uncomfortable nevermind painful

They're just increasing the drip again....

Oh wow how exciting! Sending positive vibes :)

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/06/2012 18:01

mine weren't very painful... but I have a v.high pain threshold... do you too???

Lucietea · 08/06/2012 18:05

Good luck!

SESthebrave · 08/06/2012 18:06

I don't know! Really hard to know what level of pain you really have and how that compares with how somebody else would respond.

I certainly felt pain and pathetic when they broke my waters earlier! Guess that's why they gave me gas & air!

Ooo it hurts when they break your waters before you are in labour - so don't take that to heart!

Don't think about what'c coming, only what is here. The next contraction is the only one you have to plan for Smile

McKayz · 08/06/2012 18:11

Sounds like it is going fairly well!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/06/2012 18:13

that can be bloody painful though to have your waters broken when you're cervix is still 'closed' so to say. If you have a headache for example, will you take painkillers straight away? or do you grin and bear it till it gets too much? My 'pain' might be someone elses 'agony'... I'm really hoping something is going on down there for you anyhow, the pretty reqular tightenings do sound v.positive, are you keeping mobile still? :)

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 08/06/2012 18:14

Listen to Tree yes she speaks sense Grin Wink

SESthebrave · 08/06/2012 18:16

That's a good way of looking at it TreeDelivery - will bear that in mind. They are getting more regular and a bit stronger.

There's small bits of meconium in my waters but at the moment MWs not worried as I'm so overdue, baby seems ok on monitor and waters are predominantly clear.

Good luck, SES. Will keep checking in - very excited for you xx

SESthebrave · 08/06/2012 18:21

True, I don't normally take pain relief unless I feel I have to!Oh and yes, I've been on the ball for about an hour.

wuhoo- you're getting there ses! hope the pain is manageable. What is your plan re pain relief? or are you taking it as it comes?

DairyNips · 08/06/2012 18:47

Doing great ses, sounding pretty similar to my 2nd induction which was quite quick once the contractions were regular, sounds like yours are! You still on the ball? Smile

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 08/06/2012 18:48
