Hello, my name is Molly, I’m 29, 5ft4 and 13 stone 5. I started nutracheck calorie counting yesterday and wanted to start a support thread for those starting their journey now/ 2023.

My weigh day is Thursday but i sneakily took a peek this morning at the Christmas damage 😭🥹.

Anyone else wanting to join? All welcome!

Can I join? I am calorie counting on the Lose It app.

I am age 60, 5'6 and weighed 14st 3.6lb yesterday. I can't for into my clothes and refuse to buy any bigger sizes so calorie counting it is.

RedSnail · 02/01/2023 10:04

Down 5 pounds this week 😁 gets me the half a stone award (started 9th December)

CarlottaFerrari · 02/01/2023 10:05

I’d like to join in too. 48, 5’ 6, 21st 9. I use Lose It, but am not very good at logging. My first goal is to log all calories for a whole month, as I usually manage a week or two, then miss a couple of days and think “sod it” and give up (on logging AND counting).

Mollybeth · 02/01/2023 10:43

Hello to all the newbies welcome! The sort of official weigh day is Tuesday but feel free to update the thread any time with your weight or not even weigh at all! I just wanted to create a supportive space where we can all support each other and share ideas!

No worries if you don’t use nutracheck. Loseit, noom, myfitnesspal and just general pen to paper calorie counting is the same!

I love the fitness Marshall, he’s funny and it doesn’t matter if you get the moves wrong just keep dancing, he’s changed his pricing structure now so it’s 12.99 per month for 30 min sessions, of course you can do the free ones and make your own play lists but it so much better without any adverts. 😃

Dipsandcrisps · 02/01/2023 11:37

Hello please can I join, I did my first weigh in today. 5’3 and 14stone 5 pounds.

I no longer recognise myself. Ultimate goal is to lose 4 stone and be at a healthy BMI. I am aiming for a pound a week. Anything extra is a bonus 😊

calorie counting and eating between 1400 and 15000 calories. I am also going gym everyday to do around 45 minutes of exercise, this is a mixture between classes, weights and cardio. Let’s gooo

RedSnail · 02/01/2023 12:58

@Mollybeth ill weigh tomorrow and switch to Tuesdays, obviously won’t lose much tomorrow being only one day but today was my first chance for a post Christmas weigh in so needed to get that out of the way today

Mamadoodoo · 02/01/2023 13:05

I'll join you! I'm 5ft 3 and weigh 14st 5lb 😫 I'll way on Tuesdays with you all so I'll start tomorrow. I've signed up to nutracheck and planning on walking and swimming more. Good luck everyone 💪🏻💪🏻

Mamadoodoo · 02/01/2023 13:06

Weigh not way* (wish I could edit my last post 🤣)

FriendofDorothy · 02/01/2023 13:14

I'm tentatively checking in here.

I weighed myself this morning but won't be properly starting until next week.

I ws a horrifying 19st 1lb. I cried.

I am 47 and 5'4".

I have to get a grip of myself or I will die of weight related issues.

Bobbinsbop · 02/01/2023 14:18

Hi everyone we can definitely do this!

I managed day one yesterday I know it’s only one day but It’s all positive. We’ve been to ikea this morning went into a panic wondering if I could have a breakfast- managed to talk some sense into myself veggie breakfast 601 cals. It’s tracked it’s fine. I’m doing chicken casserole for tea not sure on cals need to work that out.

how is everyone getting on?

Thekormachameleon · 02/01/2023 14:28

I'd love to join you please

So glad to find this thread as I signed up to nurtacheck for 12 months yesterday

I have 4 stone to lose, will be joining the gym tomorrow too. This year I will get the weight off and feel better in myself, I turn 40 this month and going through a divorce so could really do with the confidence boost from the weight loss

Mollybeth · 02/01/2023 14:46

Hello all! I had my nephew today who requested a Burger King, it was a little heavy on the cals 1010 in total but I’ve eaten nothing else all day and probably won’t now.

I did a sneaky weigh this morning and I’ve put on a pound despite sticking to my calories but I reckon that’s due to my period- I have PCOS and it’s my first period in 2 months and it’s awfully heavy! Guessing there might be a big whoosh loss next week (fingers crossed)!

will still weigh tomorrow though!

I weighed this morning and it was a 6lb Christmas gain! 9 full days off, eating/drinking whatever I wanted .. I’m hoping that some is water 👀🤦🏻‍♀️ X

Dottydoodoo · 02/01/2023 16:02

I bit the bullet and got on the scales this morning, I am a depressing 14 stone 7 😭 but I've done this before and I can do it again! Today is my day 1 but I won't weigh myself until next Tuesday as I will be post night shift on the Monday and that won't be a good result!
It's going well so far today, although I wish the quality street tub would stop looking at me!

FestivePinkFairy · 03/01/2023 07:48

Weighing in at a massive 13st 13.2lbs which is probably the heaviest I've even been. I'm only 5'3" so look like a blimp.

Aiming for 2 stone off by the end of June when we're off to Spain. Goal weight is 10.7 which I've been before around 10 years ago and made me a size 10/12. I'm firmly menopausal now it's going to be a lot harder though.

My plan today is Greek yogurt and stewed plums at 10ish. Homemade mackerel pâté and veg sticks for lunch and then a Hello Fresh meal with extra veg for dinner. I've hidden the remaining Xmas chocs and will donate the rest of the uneaten stuff to the food bank.

ApolloandDaphne · 03/01/2023 07:54

I never weigh on a Tuesday. Friday will be my weigh in day.

FlipFlops4Me · 03/01/2023 09:28

I weighed in and am 15st 3lbs which is a 4lbs loss - mainly water, I'm sure, but it makes me feel good 😀

Mollybeth · 03/01/2023 10:08

Morning all, I weighed in at 13st 4 this morning which is 2 down from last Tuesday. Although I am still on my period which may mean that it could be more so I’m hoping for a big whoosh next week fingers crossed. How’s everyone got on today?

Hi can I join please - I've joined nutra check today I'm weighing in at 10stone 7 but I'm short! It puts my BMI up to 28.7 and I'm the same weight I was when my now 2 year old was 8 weeks old - could actually cry!
Nutracheck have given me 1400 calories so im going to try to stick to that and use my Apple Watch to make sure I get the active calories goal each day too.
For breakfast today I've had an omelette made in the air fryer - 2 eggs and 2 egg whites, ham and yellow pepper - came in at 230 calories so wasn't too bad! I've also decided to track my water because I've become really bad at drinking water and so far I've had a glass of water and a cup of raspberry tea.

Back to work tomorrow so if anyone has any tips for avoiding the work treats or any good work lunch ideas that would be great (I've access to a kettle and a microwave)

snowday01 · 03/01/2023 10:21

@Mollybeth that's great you're down 2lbs over the Christmas period and it's your time of the month - send some of your will power this way lol

snowday01 · 03/01/2023 10:22

@FlipFlops4Me great loss! Halo

FlipFlops4Me · 03/01/2023 11:11

Well done @Mollybeth - especially because it's been Christmas and you're still on your period. Like you say - next week you should show a really good loss.

Good luck to all of us, although really it's eyes on the prize and we'll get there!

Mollybeth · 03/01/2023 11:21

FlipFlops4Me · 03/01/2023 09:28

Hopping on to join you all. Am 42, 5’7” and currently 11st 8.6lb. The overriding problem is that this is early a stone more than when I was calorie counting in September 🐷🙈

Since then I’ve been on a bit of a downward spiral and I am a completely emotional eater. Actually, let me rephrase that, I have been an emotional eater in the past but not any longer. 💪💪

I run a lot, and bootcamp a couple of times a week so if I can get a handle on what goes in it’s all doable.

lunch today is a sweet potato with topping of tuna, avocado and cottage cheese all mushed together. One of favourites.

am looking forward to the accountability on this thread, we can do it!
