Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

Morning, hope everyone has a nice weekend ahead with a few treats here and there. Finally weighed after my Easter scoffing weekend and 5.3lb down from when I started so I think I put 1lb or so back on and that's off again.
I prefer to count from where I started as it's better for morale reminds me that whatever happens I'm slowly going down not creeping up.
Anyone have particular reasons for their weight loss journey? I know some people have mentioned special events etc. I have a holiday abroad and wedding evening do. Mainly its for health though as I had Covid 3 times and recently a blood test showed pre diabetes although low level so that has hit home.

AngelicInnocent · 25/04/2022 11:13

Morning. Start of a new week so good luck sticking with it on and all

Mrsmch123 · 25/04/2022 12:57

@ilovebagpuss well done. I have a holiday in June that I'm aiming to be thinner for😂also just wanted to get healthier as I have a 10 month old and want to be able to run around with him🙈

Wond3rment · 25/04/2022 19:45

My motivations are:

  • Look better

  • Feel better

  • Fit into my summer clothes

I have had a ‘bold week’ and am paying the price. 2lbs up so my net loss is -2lbs at the moment. I will absolutely get back on track, it felt great.

Mrsmch123 · 26/04/2022 07:45

Hi everyone! Finally got my 2 stone loss🥳-1.6 this week!now for the next stone......

AngelicInnocent · 26/04/2022 14:15

Well done @Mrsmch123 that's fabulous. How long has it taken if you don't mind me asking.

Mrsmch123 · 26/04/2022 16:18

@AngelicInnocent I started on the 11th of January. It would probably have have been quicker but I still have a takeaway a week😂

AngelicInnocent · 26/04/2022 19:01

@Mrsmch123 I think you have to have the odd "treat" each week to sustain it. If you always deny yourself then it becomes a miserable, hard slog. A diet rather than changing your lifestyle.

Well done again, I'm very pleased for you.

Mrsmch123 · 26/04/2022 22:16

@AngelicInnocent definitely! this is the first time I've properly stuck to it and I genuinely believe it's because no food is "bad". Thank you 😊

ilovebagpuss · 27/04/2022 07:22

@Mrsmch123 well done. That's amazing since Jan! What has been your biggest mental shift do you think? Any tips or advice to keep on track ?

Mrsmch123 · 27/04/2022 08:19

@ilovebagpuss i think it's been the baby becoming more active got me thinking that I want to be able to run around with him.
i thought no one but me can change this. He's changed me sooo much🙈I stopped smoking as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I think once i start to see the scales moving it motivated me to stay on track. When im going to eat rubbish I just keep thinking your only cheating to your self. Then pick something different, that and still having treats just not everyday😂

ilovebagpuss · 27/04/2022 18:47

@Mrsmch123 thanks that's a good point about only cheating yourself from the goal you so want.
I just popped into Next and they have some lovely summer clothes I so want to feel comfortable and cool in a nice dress not sweating away in hot jeans or long trousers.
I'm a 16/18 at the mo and know I would feel better just a slim 14 say.

thismotherhoodthing · 27/04/2022 19:35

Everyone is doing so well! @Mrsmch123 that is just amazing well done!

My main motivation is because the wedding dress I bought in 2019 no longer fits and I can't afford another one on my crap maternity pay! Also want to feel good on my wedding day and just in clothes in general as I currently hate every picture of me.

I've had a less motivated week. Haven't totally let it slip but have stopped tracking for a few days. but ready to get really focussed from tomorrow morning and track again

Mrsmch123 · 27/04/2022 19:40

@thismotherhoodthing mat pay is the worst!im due back to work in July and dreading it😫ohhh I loved my wedding wish I could do it again!is your wedding soon?
@ilovebagpuss i was in next today too and seen some lovely bits for holiday but hoping to be able to buy a 14 so didn't buy anything. Currently a size 16.

thismotherhoodthing · 27/04/2022 19:46

@Mrsmch123 it's in July! Was supposed to be in 2020 but we had to cancel obviously. We've bought a house, had a baby and are getting married all in a year. Not making things easy for myself am I! But the dress not fitting is the most stressful part of all of it! I feel like even when I'm losing the lbs I'm not losing any inches from my waist

Mrsmch123 · 27/04/2022 20:28

@thismotherhoodthing ohhhh not long then!!god you don't do things by half😂😂yeh I still don't see a difference when I look in the mirror....everyone else can tho🙈

2anddone · 29/04/2022 06:55

Weighin day today and I am up 2lb BlushAngry I totally deserve to be I have had a horrendous week. Struggling to stay away from the Easter chocolate and eating it without even thinking when I am not even hungry. Think mentally I have switched off from it as my dd has some competitions coming up which means we have to grab food on the go which usually means McDonald's/kfc etc. Going to try and pull it back this week and get back on it going to be hard though as have an afternoon tea booked plus a competition this weekend which will mean us being out for all 3 meals. Need to make good choices but sometimes it's just quicker and cheaper to go fast food! I am so cross with myself right now hoping that helps me stay on track!

AngelicInnocent · 29/04/2022 11:48

@2anddone I used to struggle with this when my DC were younger and competing. Only suggestion I have is look up calories at these places beforehand and decide what you can have, account for it and stick to it.

2anddone · 29/04/2022 13:39

Good tip @AngelicInnocent thank you will give it a go!

Infracat · 30/04/2022 23:41

So Ive had a really good week and lost 2lb at weigh in yesterday. But today I have had a massive binge! And I dont know why. Feel like Ive thrown it all out the window.

AngelicInnocent · 01/05/2022 13:43

Not thrown it out the window at all @Infracat . Just get straight back on your diet today and it will be fine.

2anddone · 02/05/2022 08:16

I survived the comp! Had McDonald's breakfast and might have stopped for McDonald's on the way home too Blushbut chose lower calorie options...if there is such a thing and didn't snack my way through the day like I usually would to alleviate the boredom!! First day where I didn't get my 10000 steps in though for over a month so off for a long walk today. Going to try to be super strict this week as another comp next Sunday then no more until jubilee weekend so can hopefully get back on track

thismotherhoodthing · 02/05/2022 20:35

I'm losing my motivation today! I had a few days where I ate healthily but also had a glass of wine (only one) and didn't track all my calories.

I've managed to put 4lb on! I know some of it is bloat but I just feel so disheartened l. I see people talking about eating takeaways and still losing weight whereas I can't even stick to the salads and have one glass of wine without gaining. I know it's not all about the scales but I am also doing measurements and nothing is changing.

It's bloody exhausting

Mrsmch123 · 03/05/2022 07:50

@thismotherhoodthing keep at it. I would hazard a guess that you haven't actually put on 4lb. Is it not an extra 3000 calories per pound so you wouldn't have ate 120000 extra calories over the week.
im -1.8lb this week. I'm almost back at my pre pregnancy weight...which is still too heavy but it's almost another little victory.
i had Toby carvary breakfast as this weeks treat so glad to see it hasn't done too much damage😁
@2anddone well done for making healthier choices, it's not easy!

2anddone · 06/05/2022 06:52

Hope everyone has had a good week. Just had my weekly weighin I have lost 1lb so now 10st 5 and an overall loss of 1 stone 6lb since I started. Another comp for my daughter this weekend but this one should be slightly easier as we are travelling by coach so I will need to do a pack up rather than rely on being able to stop at services! Have found a werherspoons in the town we are going to so can plan ahead with my meals too
