Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

I've been struggling this last week. Have stuck to it but been miserable about it. Hormones I think.

Anyway, cheat day for me today, having a full on curry with rice which could be done within my calories but I've said screw it and bought the full range of naan, poppadoms, pakoras, samosa and bhaji. I'll regret it come Sunday's weigh in but I'm so looking forward to it.

Well done to you @2anddone and good luck for sticking to it over the weekend.

2anddone · 06/05/2022 12:36

@AngelicInnocent your curry sounds amazing enjoy it!! Hope your week gets better Flowers I find I have good days when I actually enjoy sticking to calories (weird I know!!) then days where I say sod it and eat without thinking what I am doing....and eating 3 Easter eggs and half a tube of Pringles while cooking tea BlushConfused

AngelicInnocent · 06/05/2022 21:15

It was totally amazing and actually worth breaking my diet for. Should keep me on the straight and narrow for a couple more weeks!

ilovebagpuss · 08/05/2022 10:40

Mornin, well done @2anddone when you say what your overall loss is that's just fantastic.
I have been listening to a lot of weight loss and nutrition podcasts and it's always the same theme that the quick harsh diets might loose you that holiday stone or whatever but they are hard to maintain.
They always advise a slow and steady approach with long term changes to what you reach for. Also a lot of info about emotional eating and such very interesting.
I have had a lovely weekend but not very CC we took In laws to the Malvern Spring Show and there were lots of food goodies.
Back to it today and no guilt for a nice day out. We did walk for miles too.
Hope you all having good weekends.

AngelicInnocent · 08/05/2022 12:13

That sounds lovely @ilovebagpuss

Quite right for no guilt, treats have to be part of sustaining this as a way of life.

Mrsmch123 · 10/05/2022 07:16

Morning everyone😁weigh in today was -2.2lb. I've got a lot going on this week. My nephew turns 16 and we are going out for a meal then off to a caravan for a long weekend. Will try and make sensible choices as it's also only 4 weeks until our holiday to Spain😃hope everyone is well!

2anddone · 11/05/2022 11:09

Well done @Mrsmch123 hope you have a lovely week. Not long at all until your holiday mine feels like a lifetime away at the moment as don't go until December so I am struggling to stay on track as feel like I have ages to lose some weight!

2anddone · 13/05/2022 07:23

Weighin day and I am down 1lb going to be a rough few weeks coming up though as my son starts his GCSEs and I stress eat!! How is everyone else getting on?

AngelicInnocent · 15/05/2022 11:08

Hi everyone. Well done @2anddone and @Mrsmch123

After a rough couple of weeks, I'm pleased to say I have lost a little bit. Not as much as I hoped but I am pleased to have managed to stick with healthier choices and not have given up.

Overall now I've lost 7 and half pounds since I started, 2 and half stone to go

Mrsmch123 · 16/05/2022 09:15

@AngelicInnocent well done. I'm scared to step on the scales tomorrow🙈I went rouge at the weekend at the caravan😂there was chippies, garlic bread, crisps (a sharing bag that I didn't share) and a packet of pink panther biscuits😳😳hoping that the swimming and all the walking may counter act some of it😂😂

AngelicInnocent · 16/05/2022 11:36

Fingers crossed for you @Mrsmch123

Mrsmch123 · 17/05/2022 06:51

Morning everyone!well I put on a lb😂happy with that as I honestly thought it would be more🙈back at it for the last three weeks until my holiday😬

2anddone · 18/05/2022 06:50

1lb isn't bad especially after all those yummy snacks! Stress eating for sons GCSEs going well here so think I will have definitely gained by Friday!!

2anddone · 18/05/2022 06:51

Well done @AngelicInnocent the scales are definitely moving in the right direction for you. How are you finding it sticking to your diet?

Mrsmch123 · 18/05/2022 10:34

@2anddone definitely happy with that. Was worth it😂😂🙈🙈I will behave for the next three weeks😬and today is a good day my baby finallyyyyyy learned to crawl😂although I may regret saying that🙃🙃

2anddone · 18/05/2022 10:36

@Mrsmch123 you will be getting your steps in now running around after them Wink

AngelicInnocent · 18/05/2022 20:28

@Mrsmch123 that's lovely news and you are definitely going to burn some calories running around after them.

@2anddone thank you. It's not been too hard most of the time to be honest. Just every now and again. I discovered that after sticking to it for a couple of weeks, indulging in crap, takeaway or fast food made me feel so unwell (bloated and lethargic) that I just didn't have any desire to eat it. Instead I am just saving it up for a damn good curry every 3 or 4 weeks.

I'm also not aiming to lose too much each week, just 1lb. It's taking longer but I can still have 1650 calories a day (I'm 5ft 11) so it's not like I'm going hungry at all.

2anddone · 21/05/2022 07:16

Weighin day for me yesterday and I have maintained this week so stay at 10st 4lb not been as good at logging this week and feel like I have eaten a lot more than usual so not really surprised.
My photos from my last trip to Florida (6 years ago) came up on my memories today so hoping that might spur me on for next week.

TinkysWinky · 22/05/2022 11:48

Hi everyone, can I join you?

Started slimming world a few months ago and lost half a stone. Then we had a few significant family events over the course of 2 weeks mid May, so ended up putting on 3lb again!! Found slimming world hard to stick to and some of the rules make no sense at all, so decided to abandon ship and start calorie counting last Monday, have found it so much easier to stick to.

Have 2 weddings coming up in early 2023 one of which I am bridesmaid for so really want to get this weight off, nevermind just to feel better about myself and fit back in to some of my old clothes again. I'm 5ft6 and would like to make an initial target of 11stone, with a further target of 10 stone after that.

I started at 15st 0.5lb
Slimming world brought me down to 14st 7.5lb
Then over the bad few weeks I went up again to 14st 10.5lb

So tomorrow will tell at weigh in!

Really enjoying making lower calorie swaps, find the fitness chef on Instagram fits with my mindset

ilovebagpuss · 22/05/2022 13:58

Hello @TinkysWinky sounds like you have made a good start with your initial loss. I seem to have spent a month going up or down the same few pounds! I am still counting calories but think I have let more slip in than usual.
Still I'm sticking at it and walking it's making me more mindful of what I used to just munch on without thought.
I'd like to loose some more before my holiday in July so I'm really going to push it the next few weeks.
This is a nice relaxed thread with everyone chipping away a bit at a time.
I tried on a lovely pink satin shirt in Next yesterday that actually looked nice which was a boost and reminded me even 5 pounds less can make a difference to fit of clothes. Long sleeved though so I didn't buy it.

2anddone · 22/05/2022 14:05

Hi @TinkysWinky welcome. Hope your calorie counting goes well what day do you weigh in? I do a Friday so I can relax a little bit on the weekend...have had a horrendous weekend though calorie wise so hoping I can reign it in during the week to at least maintain if I don't lose!

TinkysWinky · 22/05/2022 20:45

Thanks for the welcome guys 😊

Weight day is Monday morning here, only because I started the calorie counting last mon though I may slowly push it back to a Friday, which was my slimming world day. Good thing about calorie counting @2anddone is that you can balance a less than perfect few days out over the rest of the week. Hopefully won't be as bad as you think ☺️
@ilovebagpuss definitely agree re: the clothes, although I haven't changed significantly with my half a stone off definitely I was more comfortable in some of my clothes, every little helps pounds wise!!

Mrsmch123 · 24/05/2022 07:12

@TinkysWinky welcome😃
weigh in this morning -3.1🥳this takes me into the next stone bracket. I'm 11st 12oz now. Start weight was 14st 5oz. Two weeks until my holiday😁

2anddone · 24/05/2022 11:53

@Mrsmch123 well done that's amazing!

Mrsmch123 · 24/05/2022 12:07
