Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 08/03/2021 09:54

A very pleasant surprise on the scales this morning, I've lost 2lbs so 9st 10 now (5lbs off over 3 weeks)
Good luck to everyone this week!

BasinHaircut · 08/03/2021 10:55

Well done @Oblahdeeoblahdoe

Yesterday was ok but I don’t know what I ended up on calorie-wise as I did a one pot roast so all of the veg cooked in the meat fat/juices so I’m not sure. I had 700kcals left at dinner time but I just don’t know what I ate. I should have weighed my roast lamb as a bear minimum but I didn’t think of it until after I’d eaten!

Otherwise yesterday looked like this:
Breakfast - 2 crumpets and vitality spread, coffe with sugar 325kcals
Lunch - 2 toast, vitlalite spread, 3 scrambled eggs, squirt of ketchup 540kcals
Snack - scampi fries 130kcals
Dinner - roast lamb, potatoes, parsnips, swede, carrots (all cooked in with lamb), steamed broccoli and gravy from granules ????kcals

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 08/03/2021 13:11

Thank you @BasinHaircut I can't imagine you had more than 700 cals for your dinner and it sounds very healthy!

Andi2020 · 08/03/2021 17:41

Weigh in today lost 2lbs in first week
I'm happy with that
My aim is 1lb per week so I can maintain my weight
Started at 11.11 target 11 after 12 weeks

Ewanispurple · 08/03/2021 17:57

Hope everyone has had a successful day so far!

Too many sweeties for Me yesterday so I didn't manage to bank any Calories, but I didn't go over either!

Been a lot stricter today with 995 still left for Dinner and snacks..

I'm skipping weigh day this Week to hopefully get a worthwhile result the following.
Hoping for a 4lb loss by then, bringing me to 11stone 🤞

AesopsMables · 08/03/2021 21:26

My weigh in this week = 2lb loss 👍🏽

Yesterday I stuck to my limit and today over by 90 cals

It's a slow but steady process for sure.

BasinHaircut · 08/03/2021 22:54

Some good losses this week, well done everyone!

Today another ok day but I made a soup with my roast leftovers so again I don’t really know what it would be calorie-wise although I’ve tried to estimate using MFP.

Today’s meal plan:
Breakfast - crumpets, vitalite, coffe with sugar 325kcals
Lunch - lamb and veg soup, 2x toast with vitalite appx 530kcals
Snack - banana 100kcals
Dinner - Halloumi, chick peas, bulgar wheat, tomatoes, mint yoghurt dressing 840kcals

1,800 total but with some guess work.

FedNlanders · 09/03/2021 14:36

I'm down 1lb which i didnt deserve after a bad weekend.

BasinHaircut · 09/03/2021 19:12

Well done @FedNlanders

Today’s food:
Breakfast - banana, 30g Brazil nuts, coffee with sugar 350kcal
Lunch - 2 toast, vitalite, leftover lamb soup 530kcal
Dinner - smoked salmon, pesto and cream cheese pasta, cheese 690kcal
Snack - coffee with sugar, satsuma 70kcals

1,640 kcals. Not enough veggies consumed. Usually I’d serve green beans or red peppers (or both) with that dinner but I just forgot to buy any for this meal for some reason.

Did a nice long walk as well today which I’m pleased about.

Ewanispurple · 09/03/2021 21:40

Urgh! Sad I'm struggling this Week! Having such a Sweet tooth few days, trying to have fruit instead of real treats but the calories are still adding up.. ashamed I've just eaten an entire punnet of Grapes 🙈

Breakfast - Fruit Salad, Coffee 289
Lunch - Scrambled egg, Toast and Cherry tomatoes 360
Dinner - Pasta Bolognese 452
Snacks - Grapes, Graze Bake and a Homemade Cookie 743

= 1844

Sigh... Tomorrow is a new day Confused

Hope everyone else has had a good day! Thanks

PutTheCakeDOWN · 10/03/2021 07:13

Morning!! Hope everyone has a good day! I did yesterday finally 😂 here’s hoping for another day in target today..!

I’m not weighing though for a few days yet..!

OP posts:
BasinHaircut · 10/03/2021 07:36

I’ve just weighed myself and even though I told myself I wouldn’t keep weighing and day to day/week to week doesn’t matter, apparently I’m back up 2lbs and it’s annoyed me!

I did have pasta for dinner last night and I do need the loo (sorry too much info there!) and I know it’s not 2lbs of fat but it’s still disheartening.

I’m determined not to let it derail me, still aiming for sub-12stone by Friday 26th

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 10/03/2021 14:10

Oh @BasinHaircut it's so disheartening isn't it. I try very hard to just weigh once a week at the same time for this very reason. Forget all about it (and go to the loo) Smile

BasinHaircut · 10/03/2021 18:27

Grin thanks. I’m over it now, I had a word with myself.

I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing and see what happens.

I’m having a ‘relaxed’ weekend as it’s my birthday so determined to stay on track til Friday night’s takeaway.

Andi2020 · 10/03/2021 18:57

@BasinHaircut could it be water that put on the 2lbs. Hide the scales.

PutTheCakeDOWN · 10/03/2021 21:13

@BasinHaircut I’m up 3lbs apparently 😭
I know it can’t all be actual fat but is it disheartening isn’t it.

Another crap day for me but I’ve got a lot of stress on and I’m just being a bit rubbish. Fingers crossed for tomorrow! What’s a few days eh, I’ll still have weight to lose next week 😂👍

I actually think it will be loads easier once the kids go back to school. Here’s hoping 🤞

I like this thread , people's daily diets actually look like proper filling food . I've had a bit of a dabble with increasing protein and reducing carbs but it obviously doesn't suit my body . I've had horrible stomach pains and constipation (another TMI alert)

So back to food I enjoy eating .

Piece of toast with low sugar hazelnut chocolate spread, a banana

Vegetable soup, piece of toast with cheese spread
Nutella B bar

Cod with tomato and herb butter, small portion mash, small portion cauliflower cheese, green beans and broccoli
Meringue nest, raspberries and squirty cream

All within 1500 cals. Most amazing was discovering a meringue nest only 52 cals!

TeddyBeans · 11/03/2021 06:38

Morning all, finally figured out that I've been feeling so shockingly shit because of extreme sugar withdrawal. I usually only get a headache but this time I had a week of headaches, chills, nausea, fatigue, irritability - you name it, I had it.

It was affecting my ability to do my job (I TA in a reception class) and was making my colleagues worry about my mental state so I had a proper sugar binge yesterday and feel much better today. I won't go into details because the stuff I ate was ridiculous.

I'm obviously back to square one but I'm not giving up! Just got to think of a better way to go about it all

BasinHaircut · 11/03/2021 06:52

@TeddyBeans that sounds hideous, I’ve never heard of such extreme reaction to sugar withdrawal!

@shinynewapple21 ohh I love a meringue!

@PutTheCakeDOWN how annoying! I’m a pound down again this morning.

Yesterday’s food diary:
Breakfast - Rice Krispies, splash of milk, coffee with sugar 200kcals
Lunch - 6inch baguette and vitalite, lamb leftovers soup 670kcals
Dinner - paneer and spinach curry, brown rice 830kcals

Total 1,700 kcals

TeddyBeans · 11/03/2021 06:56

@BasinHaircut me either which is why I didn't make the connection. Luckily was able to check it wasn't covid as I do lateral flow tests through work and they came back negative.

Ironmanrocks · 11/03/2021 07:14

I am a little late to the party but can I join too please? I weigh about 70.6kg and that's more than my DH! I'm a little upset! I have filled out round the middle, and probably need to lose around 12kg. I'm using my fitness pal and have cut out alcohol in the week. Back to work so I'm running around again... I'm also not eating till 1pm. Just decaf coffee....does a cappuccino count as food at 9am as it is 84 cal? Thanks all...
