Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!

I'm having an off day today....back on it tomorrow.

Mummyme87 · 27/02/2021 19:24

Hi,

Hoping I can join a bit late to the game. I need to lose 6 stone. I’ve yo-yo dieted for years, had two kids and weight is just going up.
I’m due to get married in august (3rd date, thanks covid) and would like to start trying for baby no3 later in the year. So weights gotta shift.
I started back on slimming world early January but after seeing a load of tik tok videos anti SW I have had a whole change of mindset and on to calorie counting and find it so much easier!

Son using MyNetDiary and it’s great. It reckons i need 2300 cals to maintain so I’m aiming for 1800 cals a day max. With SW I had lost 7lb up until 2weeks ago and now on calorie counting I’m on 10.5lb. Have upped my moving, aiming for 9-10k steps a day, averaging 9.4K at the moment.

TeddyBeans · 27/02/2021 20:43

Logging food on my Fitbit app...it doesn't have all the food options but I'm making do. What apps does everyone use for counting?

Fitbits logged calories in as 1727 and out as 2465 currently but I have no idea how accurate it is.

Hopped on the scales this morning (daft idea after just one day) and I was +0.4kg 🤦‍♀️

shinynewapple21 · 28/02/2021 00:04

I've gone over today but should still be within maintaining calories

Oatiflakes with skimmed milk

2 pieces toast with reduced fat cheese

Salmon with lemon butter, mashed potato , mixed veg

Snacks: Nutella B bar; 4 crackers with cheese spread , small portion of ice cream

PutTheCakeDOWN · 28/02/2021 08:58

Welcome @Mummyme87 !

I use Nutracheck @TeddyBeans. Fitbits are notoriously inaccurate for overestimating calories burned - it’s best to just log food and see exercise as a bonus, rather than taking exercise calories into account :)

I was over yesterday. Had a good day planned today but then up in the night with middle child who had D&V (after ONE DAY back at school!!) and I’ve got a dodgy tummy myself now 😭
So it’s not going to be a great day health wise, but my calorie count should be amazing 😂😂

Someaddedsugar · 28/02/2021 14:22

I use my fitness pal @TeddyBeans but there's a lot of American food listed so searching for something generic such as mashed potato can be vary quite a lot!

Today doesn't look like it'll be any better than previous days with snacking 😂

Breakfast - protein bagel and Philadelphia with a coffee

Lunch - half a Greggs cheese and ham baguette and half a packet of quavers (shared with DS)

Dinner - roast chicken, salad and mini new potatoes

Snacks - 1.5x homemade biscotti, 2x small pieces of homemade flapjack, a satsuma, cup of tea and a packet of pickled onion crisps (note it's only 2.20pm so this is subject to change!!)

Exercise - 30 minute yoga flow class + 2 mile walk

Still just under 1,500 calories with exercise but still not great!

Monday is the day for change!!

letsnotscaretheneighbours · 28/02/2021 15:10

Stayed below calories so far. Exercise has kept me going too so far. Trouble is run days make me hungry!

PutTheCakeDOWN · 28/02/2021 18:10

I’ve stayed well below calories due to not feeling well. I’m not too bad now, just darent eat in case it makes me ill...!

Breakfast - nothing
Lunch - soup and bread (323)
Dinner - beans on toast (425)
Snacks - apple (47) tea x 2 (80)

Total - 875

Saved some up for in the week I suppose!

Hope everyone’s had a good day!

@PutTheCakeDOWN hope you're ok!

Ewanispurple · 28/02/2021 18:39

Hi all,
Please can I join?
I've been calorie counting since Mid January, 8lbs down so far. Was hoping to lose 2lb a Week but the weight seems to be coming off very slowly! I've maintained for 3 Weeks now Sad
Currently Breastfeeding so my allowance is 1800 but I tend not to have more than 1600 daily.
My target is 8lbs away!
Good luck on your Journeys, Everyone! x

shinynewapple21 · 28/02/2021 20:27

Sorry you aren't feeling well @PutTheCakeDOWN

This is awful but most of my diets in the past have been kickstarted by my either not eating due to upset stomach or problems with my teeth !

Today's food:

Porridge with water, apple slices, sweet freedom caramel syrup

Two pieces reduced fat cheese on toast

Vegan lasagne, small handful of chips, peas and sweet corn

Snack Nutella B bar

Comes in slightly over 1500 with milk for drinks

shinynewapple21 · 28/02/2021 20:29

A maintain is better than a gain @Ewanispurple ! Stick with it abs you will probably lose next week Smile

Ewanispurple · 28/02/2021 21:20

Aw thanks @shinynewapple21 Smile Hopefully! Feeling a bit deflated after consistently trying so hard, a loss would give me the little boost I need!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 28/02/2021 21:57

Dreading the scales tomorrow as I've not had a good couple of days. I've drank too much and then had the munchies, not exercised either! Must get a grip tomorrow. It's the start of a new month so good luck everyone!

PutTheCakeDOWN · 01/03/2021 08:49

Welcome @Ewanispurple!

I’m feeling loads better today, thanks everyone! Got a good day planned, starting with a hot cross bun for breakfast 😍
Fingers crossed I stick to the plan..!

Good luck today everyone, hope you have a great day!

Ewanispurple · 01/03/2021 16:27

Thank you @PutTheCakeDOWN Smile
How is everyone's day going?
Mine started pretty badly after a sleepless night with a teething Baby! Ended up having a 5 Lindt choccies for Breakfast but I planned the rest of my day around that, so if Dinner goes to plan (PON Carbonara) I should end the day 119 under target 🤞

AesopsMables · 01/03/2021 17:18

I'm back on track with cals yesterday and today

L: chicken Caesar salad 480 cals
D: Lebanese rice with Halloumi and veg 650 cals

Milk 40 cals
Total = 1170 👍🏽

Someaddedsugar · 01/03/2021 17:57

I've been feeling rotten today - very nauseous and can only assume it's something I've eaten (possibly saturday's takeaway but I'd have thought I'd have felt ill sooner if it was that!).

Calories as a result are all snacks as I can't face an actual meal!

I weighed myself first thing - 10st 1lb vs the 10st 6lb I was at the start of February!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 01/03/2021 19:02

I didn't lose any last week so 3lbs loss over 2 weeks - 10 stone 1 to 9.12, could have been worse! I've stuck to my calorie counting today but seem to have lost my motivation for exercising 😕

PutTheCakeDOWN · 01/03/2021 20:03

Evening!!

I’ve not done too badly....205 over but I’ve been very active and only had 875 yesterday.

Breakfast - hot cross bun and half a slice of bread (324)
Lunch - weight watchers ready meal and a yogurt (405)
Dinner - chicken sausage and mash with green veg (390)
Snacks - pikelets (312) tea (40) apple (47) fibre one bar (86)

Total -1605

Got a good day planned at work tomorrow so will see how I get on..!

Seems like everyone’s had a good day today! 🥳

After a dreadful weekend I had a better day yesterday.

Brunch- total 5 yoghurt, a grated apple, loads of raspberries and blueberries and a sprinkling of mixed seeds- 300

Snack- a few pieces of cooked roast chicken- 100

Dinner- brown rice, cod Thai curry- 500

Milk in tea and coffee- 100

This morning I maintained from last week which I’m delighted with as the weekend was a train wreck (kfc, booze, steak and chips, sticky toffee pudding Blush).

My aim this week is to keep within 1300 from Monday to Thursday, and on Sunday too, but allow an extra 400 each day on Friday and Saturday. Hope to lose 0.5 a week doing it this way.

Current 9st 5
Goal 9st

Good luck everyone! Seems like most people are doing really well and I’m enjoying the food diaries for motivation Smile

letsnotscaretheneighbours · 02/03/2021 07:08

I'm going by measurement as opposed to weight, mainly because I'm calorie counting and exercising so much that if I haven't lost I know I'll fall off the wagon. Its hard anyway because I'm hypothyroid but basically I want to be in a 10 around September time, so plenty of time.

FedNlanders · 02/03/2021 07:14

Scales showing a loss this morning to 9st 12.8 I do not note the daily ones on my app as I can get a bit obsessive! Super stressed as Landlord wants to move back in the house and not best time to be looking to move :(

TeddyBeans · 02/03/2021 09:06

Morning all, hope you're all well. Thanks for the app recommendations. I've used my fitness Pal before so might go back to that. Will check out the nutricheck one though, thank you.

Jumped on the scales this morning not literally and have lost 1.6kg in 4 days. I'm sure it's just water weight but it does make me feel a bit better.

My order from skinny bakery is due to arrive today, I'm looking forward to trying some 'low calorie' cakes. My sweet tooth is ridiculous and I'm struggling a bit with sugar withdrawal so hoping they'll give a bit of relief from that

Ewanispurple · 02/03/2021 09:26

Morning all! 👋🏻

Sat here Menu planning for the week ahead after a shakey day yesterday, aiming to continue saving 300cals daily vs allowance.
I'm currently 11st 6lb at 5' 8" and my Target is 10st 7lb 😬
@letsnotscaretheneighbours Can you give me any tips on measurements instead of weighing please? Feeling deflated as I've maintained for a month now but my clothes are starting to feel very loose! I too have a thyroid disorder, does it affect Weight Loss, do you know?
Good Luck for everyone's day today! I'm keeping in mind that Summer is just around the corner to keep me on track! ☀️
