Breastfeeding calendar?

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 10:07

After seeing some of the beautiful pictures on the breastfeeding photos thread and watching the nude photoshoot on Young Mums Mansion the other day I've had a look for some breastfeeding calendars and it seems there are but two.

One of which just looks like playgroup type pictures, the other is the IBFAN calendar.
If I were to arrange (hopefully in conjunction with MN and the new Breastfeeding helpline) a calendar would you buy it? pose for it?

Hopefully MrsBadger won't mind me linking to this post, but this is the type of thing I was thinking.
Something arty that shows the real beauty of breastfeeding.

Would also be greatful to hear from anyone who is, or knows a photographer or a great location for the pictures.

It would have to be for 2009 now so I'd think we have plenty of time.

oh and all the helpline no's printed on it too!! Nice present for a new mummy!

claireybee · 12/04/2008 15:11

Great idea.
I'd do it, although have a fear of having my photo taken. If you could do it so you could see ds and not too much of me that would be fine!

lisad123 · 12/04/2008 15:11

I would pose for it even with my scared body!

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 15:14

Ah, the reasons to be proud! NCT had moved it from their site and I lost it, thanks caz!

VS if you ever loose it again it is in the breastfeeding thread section, if you put reasons to be proud into search.

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 15:22

Cheers Jen, I've bookmarked it.

lol at calendar mums.....do you think we'll make it onto Good Morning as well?

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 16:13

As long as we make it onto enough kitchen walls that will be plenty

It sounds amazing, really hope you can get it sorted. Of course having said it would be cool to do it earlier on today I have realised that even ttc now I really wouldn't have the result on time but hey ho, put me down for the 2010 calendar photoshoot would you and I'll settle for buying a few of the 2009 ones to aspire to!

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 16:23

Lol Indith, pregnancy brain already?

God I hope so

Flibbertyjibbet · 12/04/2008 16:25

I am on this bf calendar here in one of the crowd scenes!
Well not a crowd, a pic of the annual bf mummies march in my area.
The Calendar is produced by our local bf support organisation, I am sure if you contact them they will offer help and assistance to mums wanting to do something similar in other parts of the country.

Ohhhhh yes, Flibberty the Calendar Girl

EllieG · 12/04/2008 17:17

I would help but am a bit too far away, and ain't planning on coming over to the mainland til Christmas, which is a bit late. Is lovely idea though x

lisad123 · 12/04/2008 17:21

Ohhh Aug! hmmm Jaz will be nearly 1 year by then, would you only want cute little babies??

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 17:22

No, we want all ages and sizes and colours aand scenes, the only thing that they need to do is breastfeed

CAT me if you like, that way you wont lose me if this thread ends before all sorted. I'm happy to take some pics of you like, have an amazing camera and do photos for fun but understand if you want a proffessional.

KnitterInTheNW · 12/04/2008 17:40

If there was to be a NW shoot, I could be persuased to pose! Although we've only been bfing for 3 weeks and still getting the hang of it. Or rather, my DS has got the hang of it with gusto and my poor boobs are feeling kinda bruised. We'll be fine by the time it all gets sorted though! You have my email and everything already, VS.

mehdismummy · 12/04/2008 17:49

my ds is two and a bit is he too old!

BouncingTurtle · 12/04/2008 17:51

No he is not if he is till bfing!

How are you Mehdismummy, are you ok? Been following your troubles, hope life is getting better for you and your gorgeous ds.

VictorianSqualor · 12/04/2008 17:59

No, not too old at all.
Also a suggestion from Hunker, we could have, maybe for the front cover? a collage of tons of MNers feeding, that way even those who can't get to a photo shoot or have stopped feeding but have photos of them feeding can all be put together and still be used.

mehdismummy · 12/04/2008 18:14

well count me in then! Am ok. Taking things slowly and seeing a counsellor so things getting sorted out in my head. Thanks so much for asking. Please cat me regarding the photo shot. I warn you i am no j lo!

ejt1764 · 12/04/2008 18:56

I would love to take part in this: dd is 6 months old now, and I'm so proud of how well we've both done ... I'm in South Wales though, am I the only one here?

Stefka · 12/04/2008 18:59

I would pose as long as my belly wasn't in the picture!! I am in Scotland though so my location might not be good.
