Breastfeeding calendar?

After seeing some of the beautiful pictures on the breastfeeding photos thread and watching the nude photoshoot on Young Mums Mansion the other day I've had a look for some breastfeeding calendars and it seems there are but two.

One of which just looks like playgroup type pictures, the other is the IBFAN calendar.
If I were to arrange (hopefully in conjunction with MN and the new Breastfeeding helpline) a calendar would you buy it? pose for it?

Hopefully MrsBadger won't mind me linking to this post, but this is the type of thing I was thinking.
Something arty that shows the real beauty of breastfeeding.

Would also be greatful to hear from anyone who is, or knows a photographer or a great location for the pictures.

It would have to be for 2009 now so I'd think we have plenty of time.

Bouncing Turtle, can't seem to email you, probably being thick. You can contact me through either of my websites www.laurafearn.com or www.babysketches.co.uk the former is book design and illustration the latter is my other business drawing baby portraits, so you can have a look at my work and see a bit about me too (if you're interested).

I would buy the calendar, and happily pose too-my dd2 is nearly one.I fed all through the pregnancy-wish I had some photos of that now,so my myth buster would be that pregnancy makes your milk taste funny so the older baby will wean.My pet hate is that baby rooms etc always have a bloody bottle picture on them, never a breast-and all baby dollies come with a bottle which still confuses my three year old who has never seen one in real life.

Greenmonkies - I saw that. You were SO cool.

Dotsie · 18/04/2008 22:40

Well i was close - greenmonkies on LK not R & J... didn;t think i'd remembered quite right, but not a bad guess for someone who never watches daytime tv! (watched it online instead.) Has the programme just been repeated or was it a new one?

crazyangel · 19/04/2008 13:19

Sounds like a fantastic idea, I too would be up for posing if I'm still BF when you do it

Would also buy it - 2 months in to motherhood I've realised the importance of calendars for the first time ever!

Have finished my list.
It is here

Jackstini · 21/04/2008 15:19

Have added myself onto BT's list.
If all goes to plan I could do tandem feeding!

mama4 · 26/04/2008 20:29

I really dont understand why people would want to have pics taken whilst bf. I know its the most natural and perfect thing to bf but come on taking pics........!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/04/2008 22:10

Perhaps it would be easier if you could explain why you wouldnt take a picture of one of the most beautiful, natural things in the world?

Sazisi · 26/04/2008 22:26

Because, Mama4, I'm proud of the fact that I breastfed my daughters and don't think it's something to be ashamed of (your post suggests that you maybe think it is, or that it's dirty somehow? Ironically, it's attitudes like that that make me think there's a need to promote breastfeeding positively). A breastfeeding calendar will help promote breastfeeding and what a beautiful, bonding experience it can be.

I have only a couple of pictures of my babies breastfeeding, but they are very precious to me. For example, DD3 had difficulties establishing breathing when she was born, and we were obviously very worried about her. Finally when she was about 50 minutes old she was deemed well enough for me to hold and offer her milk for the first time: she knew just what to do right away, and the feeling of love and relief I felt - that she was okay, strong enough and well enough to suckle, was overwhelming. It was a beautiful moment, and my husband took a picture.

Ah feck, I didn't mean to repeat that last sentence; note to self: use the preview facility when I'm trying to say something important

sparkymummy · 03/12/2008 09:13

Have just googled breastfeeding calendar and this message came up, I'm looking to buy one to make breastfeeding seem more normal to my son who never really sees anyone else feeding... i it available to buy?
