Is there someone on here called 'veal' who posts on the Guardian talkboard?

If so, do re'veal' yourself

I have just seen what you have said about me over there, and you totally misrepresent what I say!

I don't think that people who don't express 8 times in 24 hours are 'lazy'.

I have never talked about the 'virgin gut' in my life.

I don't think women who give formula have 'risked their baby's life'.

I actually think the idea of nipple confusion is wildly exagerrated and do not think women who use bottles 'give their babies permanent nipple confusion'.

Where am I ever 'stern' with mothers?

I am not a bit bothered about how much Clare Byam Cook is supposed to 'hate' me though Though maybe she doesn't 'hate' me - if 'veal' reports what I am supposed to think so unreliably, then maybe she's got this wrong, too.

So, veal, where on earth have you got all these crazy ideas from???

Oh do we care about CBC?
She is not MN regular so no,we don't.
It is dissnet in the ranks that ranles.

StarryStarryNight · 15/09/2007 23:20

well, how do we know CBC is not a mn regular? Would she say?

StarryStarryNight · 15/09/2007 23:20

At least I think that is the direction Rosemary is hinting in....

tiktok · 16/09/2007 00:20

I would think anyone writing about pregnancy, birth and parenthood would read mumsnet, and that includes CBC.

No idea if she would post, though.

I don't think macneil is going to apologise more than the very feeble way she did last night - but I am ok with that, 'cos life's too short to be bothered about it.

I'd be a lot more bothered if something like this happened in real life, obviously. I'm not totally rhino-skinned

i hope macneil doesn't feel she can't come back, though, but i do think that more of a 'hands up, rumbled, i was being an arse and am still a bit conflicted about bfing' might have been better.
weird thing is, tiktok, i can't see why anyone would have an issue with your advice, just because you are very measured in everythign you say and HUGELY sensitive to the issues that we encounter whether successful at bfing or not. it's an odd one, truly.

harpsichordcarrier · 16/09/2007 00:37

good grief tiktok how horrible
bollocks to the idea that it doesn't matter because it isn't your real name
and bollocks is it "behind your back"
but I would say being hated by CBC is proably a very good sign

tiktok · 16/09/2007 00:40

Yep, Aitch - she had me saying things which I have truly never said, and thinking things I never think, so it is odd. Her explanation that she used me as a sort of amalgam of others is not good enough, as it's then treating me as some sort of representative of people who do say the things she objected to.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 16/09/2007 00:40

Yes, I was hoping that too, Aitch.

And agree, Harpsi, being hated by CBC is something to aspire to, I reckon.

Aitch · 16/09/2007 01:01

and i've just not seen that sort of advice on MN, either. yes we've all suffered at the hands of HPs, definitely, and from what i recall macneil had suffered more than most, but on MN i've always found the atmos quite supportive. BF v FF debates being rather different, i should say.

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2007 09:08

Does anyone else get images of MNers in their mind?
tiktok, you will now always be a rhino!

ThePigletGuru · 16/09/2007 09:17
