I have just seen what you have said about me over there, and you totally misrepresent what I say!

I don't think that people who don't express 8 times in 24 hours are 'lazy'.

I have never talked about the 'virgin gut' in my life.

I don't think women who give formula have 'risked their baby's life'.

I actually think the idea of nipple confusion is wildly exagerrated and do not think women who use bottles 'give their babies permanent nipple confusion'.

I'm gutted that it's you. I remember your threads and I thought you were getting the support you wanted. We were on the same expressing thread at one point and all along you thought we were a bunch of crazies. You have had a shit time and I wish it had been different but taking it out on Tiktok was low, low, low.

Macneil, I am so ed by your attitude, blathering on about how you meant 'lots of posters in a generic way' when you blatantly didn't is not going to appease anyone.

christ alive! There are few interweb sights less edifying than a bunch of people busily working themselves up into a frothing lynch-mob hysteria over some minor indiscretion or other.

macneil apologised to tiktok several posts back, I don't see why she should apologise on the other board too. Equally, if I were tiktok I'd be more minded to post a rebuttal over there than over here, but I suppose the lack of immediate back-up from the baying mumsnet mob made that a rather less attractive option.

to me this seems like a rather outdated impression of chat-rooms as somehow not real - the idea that calling yourself tik-tok or hatwoman or something completely ridiculous like cod makes you somehow not real or anonymous. whereas we all know that these names have an identity and there is a world of difference between attributing all that shit to "tiktok" and making it generic. veal made up a person and then gave that made-up person a real person;s name. bang out of order.

The lawyer in me is pretty fascinated by this. Can you be libelled as tik-tok? I bet you can be.

Macneil - was it really you? I mean, it just seems weird to write something about breastfeeding on a film board at the Guardian and then admit to it straight away on the other board (MN) where you could have just posted in the first place. Did you want to remain anonymous or not?

they're not horrid, they're just not that accurate. The worst thing she says is that tiktok is "stern". Hardly a blistering attack.

As for your other point Norma - I've been knocking about the internet for more time than I should really admit to, and been slagged off plenty times in the past. Of course it bothers me but that's life, isn't it. Not everything is hearts and flowers and tra-la-la let's be friends all the time.
